Vintage Love Scrapbook Layout

Hello!  Today, I have a 8 x 8 scrapbook layout to share with you.  I love old vintage pictures and especially wedding pictures.  Sometimes when I have old photos I like to make layouts that I can put on an easel and display for a home decor piece.  Usually these layouts are a little heavier on the embellishments since they won't be in a scrapbook.

Here is the layout that I designed using an old family photo.  This is one of the photos that I got this past summer when we were at my family reunion.  I am going to have to show this to my grandpa so I can find out the name of the couple, there was no writing on the back of the photo.  But I just love this picture and thought it needed to be put in to a layout.  The bride had a beautiful gown and a gorgeous bouquet of roses.

I used Prima Challis Tea-Thyme Collection for the printed paper.  I thought it would look so pretty with the photo.  Then I cut/embossed LF-015 Grand Decorative Circles One using Champagne Metallic cardstock and layered that behind the photo.  I used a piece of Simply Smooth Ivory to mat the photo.  For the flower cluster I used S5-086 Bitty Blossoms and  S5-129 Foliage Two.  I cut/embossed all of the piece using Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock and then once I had the roses and leaves shaped I airbrushed them using Copic markers.  I used R20, RV10, R85 to color the roses and G24 for the leaves.

Here is a close up.  I also tucked in some small pieces of vintage lace trim, trinket pins and bling.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Please be sure to stop back tomorrow--I will be posting some fun Halloween Blog Candy.  ;-)

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Pretty Pink Peony Scrapbook Layout

Hello blogging friends!  It's going to be another quick blog post for today.  It won't be too much longer and all of my CHA artwork will be done and then I can get back to doing tutorials with step shots.  ;-)

This is a small 8 x 8 layout and it's kind of a chunky one.   But I am not going to be putting it in an album, I am going to put it on a small easel and leave it out for a home decor piece.   For the photo and the matting I used  the NEW LF-016 Decorative Grand Ovals One from Spellbinders™.

To create this beautiful little butterfly I used the NEW S4-371 Les Papillion die template and  Sno Cone and Simply Smooth White cardstock.  I layered the two butterflies and then added Diamond Clear Glitter from The Rubber Cafe.   The bling is a Recollections Swirl.

To create the peony I used the NEW S4-370 Blossoms Five.  I used Pink Lemonade cardstock and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.  I added Diamond Clear Glitter to the flower and leaves.

The lace trim is from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store from May Arts Ribbon Sampler Delicate Vintage Lace.  I also added a handmade stick pin.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

I hope you have a Fantastic Friday!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Beauty Butterfly Scrapbook Layout

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a scrapbook layout to share with you.

My youngest son and I were out for a walk one day not too long ago and I happen to have my camera with.  While we were walking I snapped a few pictures of some animals, flower and this beautiful butterfly.  I just love how this picture turned out with the focus on the flowers and butterfly and the background almost looks like watercolor.  This is one layout that I am not going to put in an album, instead I think I am going to put it up on an easel for a home decor piece.

I used  LF-014 Jewel Alphabet die templates to create the title.  I cut/embossed each of the letters twice with Posh Milk Chocolate and Gumdrop Green paper from Discount Cardstock. I slightly offset and layered the letters to create a shadow effect.  I also added Diamond Clear Glitter from The Rubber Cafe' to the top of the letters for a little sparkle and then I used 3D Foam Squares to adhere the letters to the layout.

The pattern paper is Kaisercraft Provence from the Bonjour Collection.  I also stamped a few butterflies on to the pattern paper.  The image is from S-114 Vintage Treasures from The Rubber Cafe' and I used Clearsnap Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Inx Truffle.  I just recently picked up a few of Donna's Inx and I have to tell you I ♥ them!!  They are so rich and creamy and now I want them all!!  LOL!  I also used Prismacolor Colored Pencil PC-1032 Orange Citrouille to add a little color to the butterflies and a little more glitter too.  To create the large butterfly I used LF-006 Wonderful Wings.  I added a handmade stick pin, seam binding and glitter to the butterfly.  In the background I also die cut a piece of Zutter Donna Salazar 7 x 7 Corrugated Board using LF-251 Grand Big Scalloped Ovals.  I used Ranger Acrylic Paint Dabber Snow Cap on the corrugated board.

I stamped the sentiment - Spread Your Wings - along the bottom of the layout.  The sentiment stamp is also from The Rubber Cafe'.

I also added Noelle Lace Trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This is some of my favorite lace trim, I love the dainty edging!  I also added some tiny white butterflies.  The butterflies are the drop out pieces from the S4-329 Butterfly Circles die template.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Paw Prints Scrapbook Layout

Hello blogging friends!  Today I have a quick post with an 8 x 8 scrapbook layout to share with you.

Check out these little cuties!  Mama and her babies enjoying the warmth of a sunny Spring day.  The kittens were so adorable, they were experiencing the grass and leaves for the first time.

The Mama started coming around last Fall and she is so funny she follows my dad around just like if she was a dog.  She is right by his side keeping him company while he is working in the gardens.  ;-)  He's a softy with a big heart and loves animals so he took her in and then much to the surprise of my parents she had kittens this Spring!

I wanted the layout to be simply and focus on the Mama and her babies.  Last Friday my dad took the kittens to the humane society so they could help to find homes for all of the kittens.  I know he would have loved to kept them all.  So I thought I would make a simple layout to give him so he can have pictures of them all.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles

Springtime Blossoms & Bird Scrapbook Layout

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a pretty Springtime scrapbook layout to share with you.

The photo is from last Spring but the weather has been so nice the past few weeks and I thought this would be a perfect picture for a layout. All of the solid colored cardstock is from Discount Cardstock and the background paper is from K & Company Susan Wingnet Nature paper pad.

I used Kraft paper, LF-249 Grand Big Scalloped Circles and EL-005 Splendid M-Bossabilities Folder from Spellbinders to create the embossed scalloped circle. Then I used the Adirondack Snow Cap Paint Dabber to go over the embossed flowers on the paper. I love the results with the paint dabber!

To create the tab I used one of the die templates from S5-094 Labels and Tags by Becky Fleck. For the flowers and leaves I used S5-089 Home Sweet Home (flowers) and S4-328 Foliage (leaves). I also added an acrylic green flower and added pearls to the centers of the flowers. The black swirl bling is from Recollections. The bling comes in three long strips in the package and I just snipped a few pieces to use.

To create the bird, branch, flowers and leaves I used S5-085 Mix'd Media Elements (branch & bird), S5-089 Home Sweet Home (flowers) and S4-328 Foliage (leaves). I used Antique Linen, Old Paper, Pumice Stone Distress Inks to add some color to the little bird.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you are having a Wonderful Weekend!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Monster Jam Scrapbook Layout

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a fun scrapbook layout to share with you. Last month we went to a Monster Jam--it was Evan's first time going to an event like this and he was SO Excited!!

We have so many great pictures from that day!! The Cub Scout troop was able to get a really great deal on the tickets and we also got to go to the Pit Party! If you have never been to a Pit Party it's pretty crazy--you get to go down on the floor where all of the trucks and drivers are and you can take tons of pictures and get autographs from all of the drivers. This year is the 30th Anniversary of the Grave Digger so the event was HUGE and tons of people were there!!

I used S5-046 Banner Basics Three die templates and Echo Park Apothecary Emporium 6 x 6 Paper Pad to create the little flags. Then I used Green Apple Baker's Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to finish off the banners.

I used Royal & Langnickel Engraving Art Silver Foil along with S5-048 Sprightly Sprockets die templates to create all of the sprockets and gears and then I lightly sanded them to reveal the silver foil.

To create the faux film strips I used S4-132 Classic Rectangles Large die templates. I had so much fun designing this layout and Evan LOVES it!! ;-)

We have so many pictures from the Monster Jam you might be seeing a few more layout with the BIG Monster Trucks.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and creative day! Now I am off to clean my crafting area--OMGosh what a mess--LOL!! Are you a clean crafter or does it look like a whirlwind comes through when the creative juices are flowing?

Hugs & Smiles,

Good morning blogging friends! Today, I have a quick post to share a layout with you. I am taking off today for California--headed to CHA!! I am excited to see friends and all of the fantastic new products!!

This is a pretty simple layout but sometimes I like it when the picture is the main focus of the layout. I used all new products from Spellbinders including--S5-077 Labels Twenty-Five, S5-090 Romantic Rectangles, S5-082 Nautical Frame and Accents, EL-001 Elite (side B) M-Bossabilities Folder.

Here is a close up of the M-Bossabilities. I lightly inked over the embossed area and it really makes it pop!

Here is a close up of the lighthouse. First I die cut the image then I airbrushed it using a Copic marker, added a piece of Kraft paper to the back and to finish it off I lightly inked around the edges.

I printed the journaling and then inked the inside edges of the die cut. I also added Jellie Dots around the picture and some paper flowers and leaves.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!! If you are going to be at CHA please stop by the Spellbinders booth and say hello! I would love to meet you!!! I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!!

Halloween BOO Layout!

Hello and Happy Halloween!!

I thought that since today is Halloween it would be a great time to share this layout with you. This is a picture of my youngest son and myself at his Cub Scout Halloween party a few weeks ago. All of the boys dressed up and some of the parents did too. Check out the bling on my face--it's Finesse Swirls Black Rhinestones and 72 Count Purple Rhinestones! Now that is thinking outside the box and taking it off the page LOL!

To start I used Style D Chipboard Embellishments, inked them with Tuxedo Black and then added 72 Count Lavender Rhinestones from Want2Scrap™and Pralines & Cream Fairy Dust Glitter from Clearsnap.

Next I created several Halloween die cuts using S4-279 Graveyard Scenes and Shapes, S4-280 Halloween Scenes and Shapes, S4-282 Witches Brew, S4-277 Nested Bats die templates from Spellbinders™. Then I lightly inked them with Brilliance Starlite Silver to make the embossing pop.

I created a border along the bottom of the layout with the Halloween die cuts.

I added Ranger Orange Peel Stickles to the window in the haunted house and Flower Soft Sage for the grass.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you all have a Happy, Fun & Safe Halloween!!

Sweet Puppy Kerra Layout

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a layout of our sweet puppy to share with you. Well, I guess she's not exactly a puppy anymore but she is just as playful as one LOL. ;-)

I love adding dimension to my layouts and I know that doesn't always work the best when putting them into an album but this one is going on an easel and I am going to use it as a home decor piece. I love to have layout out around the house for display and to enjoy them. I started out with a piece of Kraft paper and then I used one of the lace borders from Crafty Secrets Antique Trims stamp set. Next I stamped flourishes around the outer edges using Crafty Secrets Flourishes stamp set. I used Rich Cocoa ink to stamp the images. Then I inked the edges of the paper with Ranger Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and inked the outer edges with Rich Cocoa.

To create the letters for the title I used the Grand Calibur, LF-003 Donna's Alphas die templates and Premium Craft Foils Jewel Tones from Spellbinders. First I cut the letters and then I used the Grand Impressabilities GI-001 Fall Splendor to emboss the leaf print into the foil and then I sanded the foil. I added some Baby Bling Black Rhinestones to the side of each letter. You can also see a close up of the Flourish stamps along the edge of the paper.

Here is a close up of the flourishes and leaves. I used Premium Craft Foils Precious Metals and Jewel Tones and S5-071 Twisted Metal Tags and Accents, S5-073 Orchard Harvest Tags & Accents to make the flourishes and leaves. After I cut/embossed the foil then I sanded it. I also added a piece of lace trim and Finesse Swirls Black Rhinestones and 72 Counts Brown Rhinestones from Want2Scrap™.

Here is a close up of the Antique Trims lace stamp from Crafty Secrets.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
