DIY Plush Peony and Bunny Spring Wall Hanging - Tonic Studios

Hello everyone!  Heidi, here and today I have a fun Spring DIY  home decor project to share with you using the Entwining Trellis Plush Peony Die Set from Tonic Studios and also some of the NUVO products.

Here is a picture of the plush peony and bunny wall hanging I created for Spring.  Since there is no Easter sentiment on the wall hanging you could have this piece hanging up in your home all throughout the Spring season.  I started with a small 6 x 6 wood frame.  I used a combination of white gesso, Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and NUVO Indian Gold Embellishment Mousse to paint the frame.  Then I rubbed a little more of the NUVO Indian Gold Embellishment Mousse on the frame.  I also added some water to the mousse to create gold paint splatters on the frame.  To finish the frame I applied Gathered Twigs Distress Ink around the outer and inside edges of the frame.  Next I die cut the large Entwining  Trellis border with one of the decorative edges using kraft cardstock.  I inked the edges of the cardstock using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink,  I placed the die cut in the upper corner of the frame and used some low tack tape to hold the die cut in place and trimmed the excess.  Then I used Crafty Tacky Glue to adhere the die cuts to the frame.  I did the same thing in the bottom corner of the frame.

Here is a close up of the upper corner where you can see one of the peonies I created.  I used old book pages (without print) to die cut several of the flower shapes.  Then I shaped all of the flower petals and layered the flowers by off setting each layer to create a fuller flower.  I used Crafty Tacky Glue to adhere the flowers.  Then I used Worn Lipstick and Old Paper Distress Inks to color the flowers and I added pearl stamens to the center of each flower.

Here is a close up of the bottom corner.  I also added some NUVO Golden Sunset Glitter Drops to the Entwining Trellis border.  I just dabbed the glitter drops on with my finger to is would just leave a hint of sparkle.  I also added a couple pieces of some vintage tatting lace to the top and bottom of the frame and placed an ivory flat back pearl in the center of each lace scallop.  To finish off the flower clusters I added a couple of AB ivory and pink resin roses.

Here is a close up of the paint splatters using the NUVO Indian Gold Embellishment Mousse.

I added this sweet bunny image from ArtCult to the center of the frame.  To create the hanger I added baby pink, leather tan, and rose beige seam binding.  I frayed the edges of the seam binding to give it a more aged look.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and I hope you enjoyed the project!  All supplies will be listed below.  :)

Happy crafting!

ButterBeeScraps - Spooky Vintage Halloween Couple - Home Decor

Hello everyone!  It's almost the end of September so Halloween will be here before we know it.  So I figured I better get started on my Halloween crafts.  Today, I have a fun Halloween home decor piece to share with you.  I used some charms, filigree, resin flowers, and rhinestones from
ButterBeeScraps to create my projects and then I used some bits and pieces from my own stash too.

I had a couple of small 4 x 4 black frames and I thought these would be great for some framed Halloween home decor pieces.  The background paper and the images of the man and woman are from the Tim Holtz Regions Beyond 8 x 8 Paper Pad.  I also used some black cardstock.  To create the oval die cut shapes I used  Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small and Large.  Then I added all the bits and pieces to embellish each frame.

I wanted to use charms from both the PARISIAN TIBETAN CHARMS COLLECTION (candles) and HAUNTED HALLOWS TIBETAN CHARMS COLLECTION (spiderweb).  One was silver and one bronze.  Anything with gold is so on trend right now and I wanted to accent the frames with gold so I decided to spray paint both of the charms.

For the most part I usually buy Krylon spray paint (it's just a personal fave) but I picked up this Metallic Gold from Rust-Oleum because out of all the bottles of gold metallic spray paint this was the only one that said bright gold on the label and that is exactly what I was looking for.

Here is a closer look at the frame with the man.  I love the images of the vintage photos in the paper pad--they are great for creating small home decor pieces like this.

Here is a close up of the spider on the web.  This charm is from the HAUNTED HALLOWS TIBETAN CHARMS COLLECTION.  I added a SS12 SIAM FLAT BACK GLASS RHINESTONES for the body of the spider.  Then I used a black safety pin to attach the charm to the gold metallic bow.

I added BRASS VINE FLOURISH METAL FILIGREE EMBELLISHMENT (#006-G) to accent to ovals and the vintage photo.  Then I added SS16 JET FLAT BACK GLASS RHINESTONES to the center of each piece.  I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere all of the bling and metal pieces.

Here is a close up of the frame with the woman.  The frames are basically the same except for the images and the charms.

Here is a close up of the candles.  This charm is part of the PARISIAN TIBETAN CHARMS COLLECTION.  I added a SS20 SIAM FLAT BACK GLASS RHINESTONES to the center of the candles.  Then I added a black safety pin to attach the charm to the gold metallic bow.  I used May Arts Gold Metallic String to create the bows.  To finish the piece off I added a black RESIN FLOWER CABOCHONS (#RES612-BK) to the center of the bow.

Then I added the  BRASS VINE FLOURISH METAL FILIGREE EMBELLISHMENT (#006-G) around the photos and added SS16 JET FLAT BACK GLASS RHINESTONES to the center of the filigree pieces.

I hope you enjoyed this fun framed Halloween home decor piece.  These are so quick and easy to make for the holiday.

JustRite Papercraft - Day Two April New Release - DIY Hope Frame

Hello everyone!  It's day two of the JustRite Papercraft April New Releaase!  Today, I have a fun DIY home decor piece to share with you.

I altered a simple wood frame to create this pretty frame using some of the stamps from  JustRite Papercraft.  To start I painted the frame with white acrylic paint and then lightly sanded the frame to give it an aged look.  Then I used the CR-04620 Let Your Soul Sing Clear Stamps with the matching SVG File to stamp the branches and flowwers and cut images of the birds and butterflies.  Then I used the new CR-02171 Grunge Alphabet Clear Stamp Set and SVG Grunge Alphabet Digital Cut File Download for CR-02171 to stamp and cut the letters for the word Hope.

Here is a close up.  I used a piece of twine and black mini clothespins to attach the letters.

Here is a close up of the butterflies.

I also used the CL-02157 Script Cling Background Stamp for the background piece in the frame.

I picked this frame up at Michael's for just a couple of dollars and with just a little paint and stamps I was able to create this fun DIY home decor piece in less than an hour.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

DYI Infinity Band Candle Holder

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a quick and easy DIY project to share with you using Julianna's Jewel Loom™ and it's sure to bring a little beauty to any room in your home.

DIYCandleHolder-1

I made an infinity band using the Jewel Loom™ and two hole Czech Glass Tile Beads in Light Purple and Pink Peacock with Vitrail finish.  Then I wrapped the band around a votive candle holder and glued in place.   Then I added some flower with a little sparkle of glitter, some tiny acrylic pearl flowers and purple crystals for the center.

DIYCandleHolder-2

Here is a close up of the band.  These beads are so pretty and they work perfectly for a project like this because they lay flat.  Did you know that Julianna recently opened an Etsy store?  Her store is filled will beautiful beads like this, wire, crystals, and the Jewel Loom kit -- it's even signed by Julianna!
