ATC Swap - My Weekend - Yummy Smoked Ribs

Hello blogging friends!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!  We have had a nice and relaxing weekend and the weather has been fabulous.  It cooled off a little but I love the cooler temps.

Eric (hubby) worked yesterday but he had today off and he made the best supper EVER!!

He smoked ribs all day and they were SO Yummy!!!  The meat just fell of the bones. :)

Last month I was in a ATC sawp with a very sweet and and amazingly talented lady on YouTube.  Her name is Marlene and she is 4umarlene1 on YouTube.  You can click HERE to check out her YT channel.  During this time I was having some heath issues so I sent Marlene a PM to let her know what was going on and that I was going to be a little late with the swap.  She was so kind and  understanding and told me not to worry  about the swap until I was feeling better.  So once I was feeling better I finished up the swap and sent it off to her.  She said she was going to do a video with the ATC's I sent her and I told her once the video was up I would share the ATC's on my blog.  I haven't made a ATC in a few years and this was my first swap with someone on YT.  :)  I have been a HUGE Fan of Marlene's for some time now so when I saw her video about doing an ATC swap I jumped at the chance.  The swap was for one ATC and we could make anything we wanted--no theme, no rules--just have fun creating.

Here is the ATC that I designed for the swap--Embrace Your Dreams.  I love how this ATC turned out!  The colors are so soft and it has a shabby but elegant look.  The background paper is from the Simply Pastel paper collection from Recollections and I added it to a piece of chipboard.

I made a glaze using seed beads, glass glitter, sequins, and glossy accents and I added that around the entire outer edge of the ATC.  Once the glaze was dry I brushed Perfect Pearls over the ATC.  Then I added a small little bit of lace and frayed the edges.  I added some flat back pearls to the flower centers on the lace.

These are the products I used the create the beaded sparkling glaze.  The seed beads are a very pale pink.  The glass glitter is from Stampendous, sequins are from Martha Stewart, and the perfect pearls is from Ranger.

Here is a close up of the flower cluster.  All of the acrylic/resin flowers and pearls are from Em's Emporium.  The pink crystal is from ButterBeeScraps.  The tiny rose buds are from WOC Flowers.  I also added a few pearl AB sequins.  The beautiful image of the lady is from a free collage sheet I found on Pinterest and I distressed the edges of the paper.

Here is a close up of the wood blocks.  These are from the Tim Holtz ChitChat stickers.  I added 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ to the back of the word blocks and then I applied Glossy Accents to the top.

I made a second ATC just for the fun of it.  I know how much Marlene loves ATC's.  :)

Here is the second ATC--Sprinkle Love.  For the background paper I used Kirby Teesdale from The Paper Studio and I adhered it to a piece of chipboard.  Then I used Mod Podge to apply a piece of light blue lace fabric with some silver sparkles.  I will leave a link below to Marlene's YT Video with the ATC's and you can see what the light blue lace fabric looks like.  Once the Mod Podge was dry I trimmed off the excess lace.  Next I applied White Gesso around the outer edges of the ATC.  Doing this makes the lace on the edges really pop.  Once the Gesso was dry then I added some Diamond Stickles along the outer edge of the ATC.

For the sentiment I used more word blocks from the ChitChat stickers and added Glossy Accents on the top.  I punched out the butterflies using a Martha Stewart punch and added Diamond Stickles to them.  The tiny flowers are from Em's Emporium and the Aqua Crystals are from ButterBeeScraps.

I added an altered bottle cap in the lower left corner.  I applied some Gesso to the bottle cap and then added the sweet little image.  The image is a digital download from ArtCult.  I LOVE the beautiful images that Batya offers in her shop!  I added some Glossy Accents on top of the image and then I added some rhinestone chain.  The small flower filigrees are from B'Sue Boutiques.  I painted them white and then buffed them with steel wool (0000) until some of the metal was revealed.  I added Clear Crystals from ButterBeeScraps to the filigree pieces.

Here are the links to the two videos that Marlene did with the ATC's (below).  I added a few extra goodies that you can see in her video.  I forgot to take pictures of the flowers I made lol.  Also HERE is a link to the blog post showing a necklace that has a bezel--it is just like the one I made for her but I didn't add her's to a necklace so she could use it on a project if she wants to.  And--if you are coming here from Marlene's video and you want to see the card I gave her you can click HERE to see that blog post.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Birthday Dreams Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a beautiful birthday card to share with you.

Do you ever have those cards or projects that you create that you just absolutely love?  Well, for me this would be one of those cards.  I know there isn't much stamping but the Cotton Blend Vintage Print - Pink Floral ribbon and the Venise Lace 1.75" - Valentina Ivory are so gorgeous they kind of do all the work for you.  I added the lace and ribbon to a piece of kraft cardstock and then I mounted that to an ivory base top fold card.  I also used some Pink 1.25" Silk Ribbon by May Arts to wrap around the kaft paper and tie a pretty bow.  I used some 3D Foam Squares when mounting the kraft cardstock to the ivory base.

Here is a close up of the ribbon and lace.  I love how the edges of the ribbon are frayed.  The ribbon and lace together have kind of a shabby chic look and feel.

For the sentiment I used one of the stamps from JustRite® Papercraft CR-02106 Birthday Floral Vintage Labels Eight and Nine Clear Stamps and stamped it using Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  To create the die cut I used S5-218 A2 Devine Eloquence from Spellbinders Paper Arts®.  Then I used Memento Rich Cocoa to ink the outer edges of the die cut.  I added a couple Melissa Frances Cream Pearls and some flowers from the  Petaloo Botanica Collection Pink.

I hope you enjoyed the card today as much as I enjoyed creating it!  As always you can click on all the photos to enlarge them and all of the supplies are listed below with links.

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Royal Rose Bezel - Spellbinders - A Gilded Life Collection

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a jewelry piece to share with you using one of the bezels for A Gilded Life Collection from Spellbinders Paper Arts®.

I designed a beautiful necklace using the GL2-005 Rose Medallion-Gold bezel by A Gilded Life.  This is one of those pieces that I had so much fun creating and I love how it turned out!  I think A Gilded Life collection is one of my favorites.  All of the pieces in the collection are so beautiful.

I painted the the entire piece with white spray paint.  Then I added pink and blue paint and lightly buffed the piece with steel wool until some of the paint was removed to reveal the metal.  Then I sealed the pieces with a clear spray.  Next I added all of the crystals.  I used clear and AB crystals.

I die cut the digital image using GLD-003 Crown Circle Die.  Then I glued the image in place and added a glossy top coat.

I added the bezel to some pink silk ribbon for a quick and easy necklace.

I hope you enjoyed the jewelry project and I inspired you to try some of the bezels and create your own unique jewelry pieces.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Heidi

Special Delivery Baby Card

Hello everyone!  Today is going to be a quick post--I have several projects that I am working on and need to get done but I wanted to share this pretty pink baby card with you.

Here is a card that I made for some friends of ours that recently had a sweet baby girl.  The coloring was quick and easy.  I stamped the baby buggy image from CR-04810 Bundle of Joy Vintage Labels Five Clear Stamps using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I used Spectrum Noir marker PP1 to color the baby buggy.  To create the die cuts I used S4-425 Elegant Ovals and S4-418 Labels Thirty-Six.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.

Here is a close up of the image and the die cuts.  I added a small pink bow with a pearl center to the baby buggy.  For some dimension I added 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™.

for the background I used E3D-018 European Tapestry M-bossabilities Folder to emboss the paper.  I inked the folder with Angel Pink Memento ink and then embossed the paper.  I also inked the edges of the paper.  To add a little sparkle I went over the embossed areas with my Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen.

Well that's it for me today.  I've got to get back to work and get some projects done. :) I'll be making another baby card soon--my cousin and her husband are at the hospital right now and they just had a baby boy!  Their first child and he was born on my Grandpa's birthday so that's pretty neat too.  A Happy Day all the way around!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Family Reunion - Celebrating Grandpa's Birthday - Family Farm - Barn Board Bezels

Hello everyone!  This past weekend was a little busy around here.  On Saturday we had our family reunion and then on Sunday we celebrated my Grandpa's 84th birthday!  It was so great to see all of the family together--to visit and catch up with everyone, have some wonderful food (we had a hog roast), play games, look at old photo, share memories of the past and create new memories.

For the past few years when everyone is home for the reunion we always try to get a few pictures of  my aunts and uncles with my grandpa.

We were taking a few practice shots before my grandpa came outside.  My mom is the first one and then it's my uncle John, aunt Gail (she's the crafty one), aunt Cory, and my uncle Brian.

Here is a picture with my Grandpa and all of his kids.

This one is my Grandpa and Grandma.  I can't believe he is going to be 84 on Wednesday!  He is still very active and young at heart.  I don't even have the words that could come close to describing how much I love him and how special he is.  He has always been such a huge part of my life.  We are the only two in the family who are left handed (southpaws).  As he would say we are the only ones in our right minds--LOL!  When I was little I was such a tomboy and I was always tagging along with my grandpa on the farm.  I loved being around all of the animals and nature and hanging out with him.  He has taught me so many important life lessons, to be kind, what it means to be a good person, to be true to yourself, to love, to forgive, to believe in God and how important family is--an many, many more things over the years.

Here is a picture of my mom and grandpa.  I love this picture!

Here is a picture of the barn on the family farm that I took at the last reunion.  This is the farm that my grandpa lived on for many years and after he retired my uncle John who had farmed with my grandpa for years took over the farm and his family moved there.  The barn is no longer standing--it was just getting too old.  But my uncle John still has a lot of the barn boards.  He has made some fantastic pieces out of the barn board.  Both of my uncles and my grandpa are great with wood working!  In fact my uncle John made me a wine tote (for wine bottles) and a few frames for my birthday.  I'll have to post some pictures of them.  Anyways I have been wanting to make something with the barn board and put my own spin on it but I couldn't figure out what to create until just recently and then one day it hit me--I could make some bezels with pieces of the barn board.  I could preserve them forever in ICE Resin! :)  So I thought it would be perfect timing with everyone home to make some bezels for my mom, aunts, uncles and my grandpa.

These are the bezels I created.  I re-sized the picture of the barn so it would fit inside the bezel.  Then I had my husband help me to cut off some thinner pieces of the barn board and then I cut them down to size to fit in the bezel and frame the picture.  I added a piece of old book paper behind the photo because I knew there would be a few small little places that wouldn't be covered by the wood and I didn't just want it to be an empty space.  Then I added ICE Resin.  For the ladies I added small keys and for the guys I added a small gear.  I didn't want to add too much to the bezels because I wanted the picture and pieces of barn board to be the main focus.  I wrapped the bezels up and put them in gift bags and gave them to everyone as shown in the picture above and then I left it up to them if they wanted to make it into a key chain or put a magnet on the back.  They did a little of both.

Here is a close up of the one with the key.

Here is a close up with the gear.

My mom and aunt Gail decided they wanted to have magnets and my aunt Cory wanted to have a key chain.  I had some old jewelry that was from my grandma.  She was my grandpa's first wife and mother to my mom and her bothers and sisters and she passed away several years ago.  I used some of the jewelry pieces to create the dangles on their bezels.  Everyone really liked the bezels and thought it was pretty neat that the barn board was in there and it will always be preserved.

Thank you so much for joining me today and letting me share a little of my family with you.  :)

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Sparkling Dandylion Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a CAS (Clean And Simple) card with a lot of sparkle to share with you.

For my card I used a couple of the papers from the Prima Princess Collection 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  I think some of the papers in this collection are so soft and dreamy looking.  I used Dandylion, and Dragon Delight die templates from Spellbinders to create the die cuts.  Both of these die templates are new releases and they are part of the Die D-Lite Collection.  I used white cardstock for the die cuts.  Then I applied Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to the flowers and part of the dragonfly and I added Ranger Distress Glitter Clear Rock Candy.  I love how this turned out!  The Distress Glitter areas look like a very light ivory on top of the white giving the die cuts a two tone look.

Here is a close up.  I love all the sparkle!  I added a few Melissa Frances White Pearls, and Webster's Pages Sequins Mix-Party Time.  The peachy pink sequins match the paper perfectly.  I added some 3D Foam Squares to the flowers and the dragonfly to pop them up a little and add some dimension to the card.  I didn't add a sentiment to the front of the card but if you wanted to you could stamp a sentiment right on to the card front or add a tag with the sentiment if you wanted to change it up.  I think this card could be used for several different occasions.

I hope you enjoyed the card today and as always you can click on all the photos to enlarge them and all of the supplies are listed below with links.

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

Snowflakes Celebrate the Season Card - JustRite Papercraft July New Release Day Ten

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is the tenth day and also the last day of the July New Release for  JustRite® Papercraft.  So what did you think of all the fabulous new stamps, dies, and SVG cut files?  For today I have three more stamp sets to share with you and one SVG cut file.

Here is the card that I designed using the CL-02053 Snowflakes Cling Stamps and SVG-02053 SVG Snowflakes Digital Cut File Download for CL-02053.  To create the pretty layered snowflake I used both the exact and offset SVG cut files.

On the pink layer I stamped with Versa Mark ink and then added white embossing powder and heat set.  For the blue snowflakes I added Glossy Accents and Distress Glitter-Rock Candy for some sparkle.  I also added the Glossy Accents and Distress Glitter-Rock Candy around the outer edge of the pink snowflakes. Then I added SS12 and SS20 Aquamarine Flat Back Crystals, and SS12 Light Rose Flat Back Crystals from ButterBeeScraps.

For the background paper I used the negative part (the throw away piece) from the SVG cut files to create a stencil.  I added some painters tape around the outer edge so I din't have to worry about getting ink where I didn't want it to go.

I used Broken China ink and a sponge to stencil the snowflakes.

Here is a close up of the background paper.  This is just another way you can use the cut files.

Just a couple of close ups of the snowflake.  To finish off the card I added some white lace, sheer pink ribbon with a bow, a pretty cabochon, and a handmade stick pin.

Please be sure to check out the link list below with all of the Design Team Members to see what they have created to share with you.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you were inspired and enjoyed all of the new products and projects for the July release!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
