Life Updates - Creative Work - My 1st ICE Resin Video! - DT Goodies

Hello blogging friends!  This is my first post for this week.  I am still trying to get back into the swing of things with creating.  I posted a few cards last week--if you missed them you can scroll down to see the other blog posts.  The cards I posted last week were some that I had actually made about a month ago.  One of my medications was increase so the pain is getting less and less and I am feeling better each day.  However due to the side effects I am very sleepy.  Since I have had RA for several years I am used to chronic pain but wow adding the Fibro on top of everything has been a whole new ball game.  I am just trying to stay positive and really appreciate the good days.  I was so happy on Saturday--it was the first day in 37 days that I didn't have to take any pain pills!  Unfortunately I think I over did it a bit and need the pain pills again on Sunday.  Right now I guess I just need to find a balance and not over do it on the good days.  I want to say thank you to everyone who has left sweet comments and kept my husband and myself in their prayers.  By the way he is doing great!!  :)  As for myself like I said I am trying to get back into the swing of things and try to get caught up with my creative work.  I have to say I feel very lucky to work for some Amazing companies---they have all been so great and understanding!!!  Anyways, I just wanted to give you a little update.  :)

Over the next week or so I will have several posts on my blog and Facebook (hopefully--fingers crossed) sharing some of my design work but also introducing you to several new designers that I am currently working with.  I started working with two new companies not long before all of the health issues started so I didn't get a chance to introduce you to all of the beautiful and talented designers from these two teams--Tonic Studios and ICE Resin.

Today, I am sharing my first video from ICE Resin.  It was actually posted on the ICE Resin Youtube channel and the ICE Resin blog about a week ago but just in case you missed it I wanted to share it here too.  I also have some pictures to share of some new DT goodies from ICE Resin/Ranger.  I have to say I am loving the NEW ICE Resin Tints!!  They are so fun to play with and I can't wait to show you some projects with the new tints.

If you would like to see a full step-by-step tutorial you can click HERE to visit the ICE Resin Blog.

Some of the goodies from ICE Resin/Ranger.  :)

Love, love, love the NEW ICE Resin Tints, Foils and check out the fabulous New ICE Resin Designer Accessory Bag!  Oh and the New Mixing Cups and Stir Sticks too!  You can wipe out the new cups with an alcohol or baby wipe and reuse them--gotta love that!

Amazing book--filled with SO much inspiration!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!  I hope you enjoy the video--this is my first in front of the camera video lol.  I can't wait to share more projects with all of you!

Heidi

New Oceans - 3D M-Bossabilites Folder-Inks-Glitter & Glue Tutorial

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a tutorial to share with you using some of my favorite products--Scrap Happy Sheer GlueImagine Crafts/Tsukineko inks and  3D M-Bossabilities.

Here is the card that I designed using the new E3D-001 Shell Beauty 3D M-Bossabilities folder from Spellbinders Creative Arts™.  The background has several layers of inks, gesso, glue and glitter and I am so happy with how it turned out.

I started out by added a few different colors of ink directly on to the folder using Inkblushers applicators.  I used Versa Magic Aloe VeraTurquoise GemWheat and Sahara Sand inks to cover the entire folder.

Next I used the Grand Calibur® Machine and a piece of Simply Smooth Ivory with the inked up folder to emboss the image.  Once I removed the paper from the folder I added a little more ink to highlight some of the embossed areas.

Then to soften the colors and add another element of texture I dry brushed gesso over the entire piece.

Once the gesso was dry (it only takes a couple of minutes to dry) then I used a makeup sponge to lightly apply Scrap Happy Sheer Glue from The Rubber Cafe around the outer edges and worked my way in towards the center but I didn't cover the entire piece.

Next comes the fun part!  One of the things I love about the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue is that even once the glue is dry it still remains tacky and it works perfectly for a light application of glitter.  Before I added the glitter I sprinkled some Stampendous Gilded Mica Fragments and then I added the You're So Fine Glitter Diamond Clear Cool Highlights.  The You're So Fine Glitter is an ultra light glitter and it is very easy to work with--just rub it in with your fingers--easy peasy!  Look at all the glittery goodness!

Once I had the background done then I started to assemble the card.  I used Frosted Teal and Kraft paper from DiscountCardstock.comS6-001 5 x 7 Matting Basics A and S6-002
5 x 7 Matting Basics B die templates from Spellbinders.  I used  F-648 New Oceans stamp from The Rubber Cafe for the sentiment and I fussy cut it in to blocks, inked the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa and then I added 3D Foam Squares for a little dimension.

Towards the bottom I added 1.5 Champagne Netting from Really Reasonable Ribbon and then I filled MB2-001 Circles One-Bronze (Bezel) with some Scrap Happy Sheer Glue, shells, You're So Fine Glitter Diamond Clear Cool Highlights and  Pearl Jellie Dots.  I tied True Hemp 4mm Hemp Twisted Rope on to the ends of the bezel, tied the ends and glued the rope in place.

I had a lot of creative fun making this card and I hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Think of all the fabulous projects you will be able to create!

MSRP US$49.99

Approximate Die Templates Sizes:

1: 4 ¾”

2: 5 ¾”

3: 6 ¼”

4: 7 7/8”

Here is my first project that I have to share with you using the LF-015 Grand Decorative Circles One die template and shrink art.  Did you ever create with Shinky Dinks when you were little or do your kids create with them now?  Who knew Shrinky Dinks could look so glamorous and beautiful LOL!  Below I have a full tutorial to share with you on how I created this sweet little Paris shrink art pin.

Supplies
Spellbinders Paper Arts:  Grand Calibur® Machine, LF-015 Grand Decorative Circles One, S5-145 French Frills Samantha Walker Designer Collection

Other products used:
K & B Innovations Inc. Shrinky Dinks Crystal Clear, White, Black
Copic:  Air Brush System, Markers - YG63, B04, R85, 100
Tsukineko StazOn Metallic Silver Ink
Ranger Glossy Accents
Oven and Pin Back

For my project I used die templates one, two and three in the LF-015 Grand Decorative Circles One die template set, with the smallest die template being number one.  I started by using the Grand Calibur® Machine to die cut the shrink plastic.

For the smallest circle in the LF-015 Grand Decorative Circles One die template set I used Tsukineko StazOn Metallic Silver Ink and CL-03790 Paris Background Stamp from JustRite Papercraft to stamp the background image on to the shrink plastic before removing the die template, using the die template as a stencil.  I set this aside to dry for a few minutes and then carefully removed the shrink plastic from the die template.

I also die cut the Eiffel Tower from the S5-145 French Frills die template set from the Samantha Walker Designer Collection using Black Shrink Plastic.

Once I had all of the Shrink Plastic die cut then I put it in the oven to shrink it down, following the instructions on the package.  Here is a picture of the largest die template used and the die cut once it was shrunk down.  Even once it is shrunk down it still maintains all of the detail!

Here is another picture with some of the die cuts once they were shrunk down in size.

I wanted to have the largest circle black but I didn't happen to have a large enough piece of the black shrink plastic so I used the Copic Air Brush System and Copic marker 100 Black to color the shrink plastic to match my project.

I used Crystal Clear Shrink Plastic for the smallest circle and I wanted to add some color so I airbrushed the back side of the die cut using Copic markers YG63, B04 and R85.

Here is a picture of all the die cuts before I assembled the pin.

I used Glossy Accents to layer and adhere all of the pieces together.  Then I added Clear Rhinestones  from The Rubber Cafe' using the Stick "EM" Up Tool for perfect placement.  To finish of the pin I covered the entire piece with Glossy Accents and added a pin back.

Check it out!  Here is a picture so you can see just how much everything shrunk down in size!

For my second project I designed a large shape card using LF-015 Grand Decorative Circles One, S5-145 French Frills and S5-146 Botanical Swirls and Accents from the Samantha Walker Designer Collection.
