The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Peace On Earth Christmas Card with Ink Smooshing.

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today, I have a beautiful Christmas card to share with you using one of the stamp sets and die sets from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  Don't you just love the soft colors in the background?  I had some fun playing with the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks.  But you might be surprised to know I did the ink smooshing technique and achieved such light colors.  Actually I didn't lol.  The secret is to use a vellum overlay.

Here is a look at the paper with the smooshing technique.  The vellum makes such a huge difference.  I used im Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, and Faded Jeans.  

I stamped the sentiment on to the Vellum and the star on to a piece of white cardstock using VersaMark Ink and then heat embossing with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder.  I used the Stamp Simply Steel Dies - Merry Christmas Star SS-DIE008 to die cut the star.

Here is a close up of the star.  I added some imply Stories Record It Enamel Dots for embellishments and added Foam Tape to pop up the star.  I applied adhesive to the backside of the vellum where the star and enamel dots are to hold the vellum in place on the card front.

Here is a close of the sentiment and the background.

To finish off the card I trimmed down the watercolor and vellum and added foam tape to the back and then added the card front to a white A2 top folding card base.  This card came together pretty quick and easy and would be a great one to make multiples of if you don't mind your fingers getting a little inky.

Simply Sunday - Vintage Girl Necklace

Good morning blogging friends!! It is so good to be back in blogging land!! My computer has been down for several days but I am up an going again!! Computers are so wonderful when they are working right and so frustrating when they're not. A BIG thanks to my hubby for getting things up an going again!!!I did something a little different for Simply Sunday today. Instead of making a card I made a necklace using the NEW Mini Vintage Creative Scraps from Crafty Secrets. Simply Sunday - Our Challenge - Change Can Be Beautiful Card

Simply Sunday

What is Simply Sunday? Simply Sunday is a day for a little bit of simplicity in our lives and our journey as designers. No chit chat, no tutorials, no fancy techniques and only one or two photos.

How did Simply Sunday come to be? While talking with a couple of friends we decided we wanted to do something different this year, something that would challenge us. We each create and design with a LOVE for embellishments and lots of them I might add--LOL! So we thought why not challenge ourselves to create simple cards. Now, I know you might be thinking that doesn't sound like much of a challenge but sometimes creating the simplest of things can be one of the hardest things to do.
