Heartfelt Creations - Perfect Petal Collection - Release #2

Hello! I am very excited to share today's card with you!! Today is the "Perfect Petal Collection" and Release #2 from Heartfelt Creations. This release features 7 new precut stamp sets, and one exclusive Heartfelt Creations Diecut manufactured by Spellbinders™. CLICK HERE to see all the New Products from Heartfelt Creations. Here is the card I created using HCPC 3315 Lily Petals PreCut Set, HCPC 3314 Elegant Single Leaves PreCut Set, HCPC 3312 Uplifting Scriptures PreCut Set, and HCD 704 Perfect Petals Diecuts from Heartfelt Creations. To start I stamped a total of six petals from the HCPC 3315 Lily Petals PreCut Set onto white cardstock using Rose Bud ink. Next I misted the paper with two colors of Glimmer Mist--Tattered Rose and Pashmina and heat set to dry. Then cut the petals using the die templates from the HCD 704 Perfect Petals Diecuts. Then I made a score line down the center of each petal.Next I worked on shaping the petals. I folded them on the score line and then I curled the tips and shaped them using the scoring tool. For the leaves I started with a white piece of cardstock and added Peeled Paint ink and then Sage and Honey Dew Mist Glimmer Mist and heat set to dry. Then I stamped several of the leaf image from HCPC 3314 Elegant Single Leaves PreCut Set using Peeled Paint ink. Then cut the leaves using the die templates from the HCD 704 Perfect Petals Diecuts. I also shaped the leaves just like I shaped the petals as shown in the photos above. To create the stamens for the lily I used Autumn Flower Soft. Just dab a little glue on the wire and then pick up a little of the Flower Soft on the glue. Once the wire is covered then I gently roll it in my fingers to shape it and set aside until dry--just a couple of minutes. Next I assembled the flower. You can use your favorite glue or adhesive to assemble the lily. Click HERE to see a fantastic video tutorial by Emma Lou from Heartfelt Creations on how she assembles her flowers. Once I had my flower assembled I used a paper piercer to poke a hole in the center of the flower and then I added the stamen. Here is a close-up of the finished lily with the leaves.
I made a square diecut using Classic Squares Small S4-128 die # 7 die template and then airbrushed with a Copic marker. I used the square as a mat for the lily. Next I made two large corner flourish diecuts with white cardstock and using the HCD 704 Perfect Petals Diecuts. Then I hooked the end loops together. I added this piece to the top of the square diecut. Here is a close-up to see more details. Here is another close-up at a different angle. On the bottom part of the card I added a sentiment from the HCPC 3312 Uplifting Scriptures PreCut Set. I stamped the sentiment and then lined up the Fancy Tags S4-235 die template to make the diecut. Before removing the paper I airbrushed with a Copic marker. To make the tag fit and give it a different look I cut off the one end and rounded the corners. The pretty blue designer paper is from the Be Mine Stack from DCWV and I also added pink rhinestones from My Mind's Eye.

Spellbinders - Keepin' it Cool Layout - Part 2

Hello! Last month I created a fun summer layout with pictures from one of our vacations to Jellystone Park. Click HERE to see the layout from last month. Today I have the second half of a double layout to share with you.For the larger duck diecut I wanted to try and recreate a duck like the one at the water park. I used the Nested Ducks S4-262 Die # 1, 2 die templates from Spellbinders™ to create the ducks. I cut/embossed the larger duck a total of 6 times--2 white, 2 brown and 1 each of green and yellow. Then I cut the ducks and paper pieced it together. I added brown and green ink for shading. I also used B02 & B00 Copic markers to add the blue. Then I went over parts of the duck with a Clear Star Gelly Roll Glitter Pen from Sakura. I added three small yellow ducks floating along behind. To add dimension I used 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™. To create the waves I used B02 Copic Marker and the airbrush system from Copic along with the Big Scalloped Petites S4-242 die template from Spellbinders™. To create the clouds and surf boards I used Labels Six S4-230 & Surf's Up S4-272 die templates from Spellbinders. I used a Clear Star pen on the clouds to add a little sparkle and I airbrushed the surf boards using B02 & R27 Copic markers.

After a weekend of storms we have had several phone calls and emails wondering how we are doing and all is well! We have our electricity back and everyone is safe. But I am glad the weekend is over! We have spent more time in the past week an a half in our basement and it is starting to get really old!! Three storms in a week an a half is enough! After church we spent most of yesterday at my parents house helping them clean up, the area where they live was hit pretty hard! This is the back of my parents house. I forgot to take pictures of the front of the house but they had a huge branch off the top of one of their trees that ended up in the neighbors yard. In the bottom right corner is my parents house, this is a tree in their neighbors yard.
A lot of big trees in the neighborhood were uprooted. I can't even begin to tel you how many trees came down from the storm. There were also a lot of trees where the tops were just snapped off. It was really sad to see so many beautiful tress lost but thank goodness it was just trees and no one was hurt!! We do have a lot to be thankful for because so many people have lost so much over the past week an a half!! One thing that was really wonderful to see is all of the people pulling together to help each other out, that really touches a persons heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Thanks for the phone calls and emails to check on us over the weekend! I hope you have a wonderful week!

Heidi

JustRite Stampers - By The Sea - Waves

Hello! Today I have another card to share with you that I created for my Dad for Father's Day. But the card could really be used for several different occasions and you could also add a sentiment to the front.I used one of the image from By The Sea stamp set from JustRite Stampers to create the beautiful beach image on the card. The By The Sea stamp set includes 4 Centers and 4 Interchangeable Borders and it fits the 1/4'' x 3-1/16'' Oval Stamper. I started by stamping the image with Rich Cocoa ink onto Solar White cardstock.Next I colored the the sea and sky. Then I colored the adirondack chair. Then I colored the sand, bucket and grass. For the last little bit of coloring I colored the umbrella and the border.I used the Illuminations Border Grand S7-004 die template to create the diecut for the wave. I cut/embossed one border with white cardstock and the other with Floral Dreams designer paper. To add a little bit of sparkle to the waves I used the Clear Star Gelly Roll Glitter Pen from Sakura. If you look back up at the first picture of the wave you will see a line of glitter from the pen. To get a softer and all over sparkle I just tap my finger on top of the glitter line before it drys. You will want to work in small sections while doing this so the glitter doesn't dry.To layer the waves and add a little dimension I used 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™.Here is a close-up of the waves. I added a few Brown Lush rhinestones from My Mind's Eye .Here is a close-up of the stamped image. I used Classic Ovals Small S4-112 die #5 die template to make the oval diecut and Labels Thirteen S4-248 die template to make a diecut for a mat in the background. For the top border I used a piece of white cardstock and embossed it with Sea Scape Impressabilities I2-1016 then I inked it with Ranger Distress Ink Antique Linen. I also traced around the shells with a Clear Star Gelly Roll Glitter Pen to add a little sparkle.
