The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Coneflower Happy Birthday Watercolor and Stencil Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a small tutorial to share with you on how I created my card.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  It looks pretty simple but it does have a couple of techniques going on.  I wanted the flower to take center stage but I also wanted a soft background instead of just a white background.

The flower image is from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps Thank You For Caring Coneflower SS-019 stamp set.  I stamped and heat embossed the image on to a piece of Ranger Watercolor paper using  Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder - Clear.  Then I stamped the image onto a couple of post-it notes and fussy cut it out to create a mask.  Usually I like to use the Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper but I'm currently out of the masking paper.  The masking paper is so quick and easy to use.  I placed the mask on top of the stamped image.  Then I taped the stencil in place over the paper.  The stencil I used is the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Woodgrain.  As you can see the paper is larger then the stencil so I did have to re-position the stencil a couple of times and continue to add the ink.  For the stenciled background I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Hickory Smoke and Pumice Stone along with the Mini Ink Blending Tools to add the ink.

After the stenciling was done I removed the mask.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Squeezed LemonadeFossilized AmberCarved PumpkinTwisted CitronMowed Lawn and Walnut Stain to watercolor the flower image.

Once all of the watercolor was done then I added Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the flower image.  Here is a close up so you can see some of the sparkle.

Here is a close up of the finished card.  I also decided to add a layer of Ranger Glossy Accents to the flower.

To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps All Occasion Sentiments SET 1 SS-030 with VersaMark Ink onto black cardstock and then heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder - White.  I trimmed the black cardstock down and added some May Arts Gold Metallic String.  I also added some May Arts Ribbon Sampler - Delicate Vintage Lace and a few Simple Stories So Fancy Enamel Dots.  The card base is a black A2 top folding card.

Thank so much for joining me today!  I hope you enjoyed today's card share and tutorial.  All of the supplies used to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Much love, hugs, and blessings,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Amazing Grace Card with Stenciling

Hello and happy Friday to everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a card to share with you using the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil - Splash and some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks.

Now I know the stencil is supposed to look like splashes and it does but it also reminds me of flower petals when the stencil is put on the side.  It reminds me of chrysanthemum flowers.  I taped the stencil in place with some low tack tape and then I used the mini blending tools with three of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Broken ChinaSalty OceanMermaid Lagoon.  I know it's a bit hard to see the different colors in the photos and I am sorry about that.  I don't know if it was the lighting or what but it kind of looks like it's all the same color in the photos but in real life you can see the three colors on the card lol.  I started with broken china at the top, salty ocean in the middle and then mermaid lagoon is on the bottom.

For the sentiment I used one of the stamps from the  Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Farmhouse Scriptural Thoughts SS-025 stamp set.  To get the two different colors of ink I used the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and I masked part of the stamp with some paper and inked it up with salty ocean ink.  I removed the paper and stamped the sentiment.  Then, I repeated the process by covering up the other part of the sentiment and inking it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  The stamp platform works perfectly for doing the two tone stamping.  Then I added some May Arts 5/8" Adhesive Rosettes - Black ribbon across the front of the card.  I also added some Petaloo Botanica Colections Baby Blooms BlueBaby Blooms Teal and for a bit of sparkle I added a few Prima Say It With Crystals Zella Teal.

I used Scrapbook Adhesives By 3L Foam Tape in between the cardstock layers and that finished off the card.  The card base is a white A2 top folding card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card share!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  All of the supplies used to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  To see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Much love, hugs, and blessings,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Fairie Dust Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a beautiful fairy card to share with you using some of the gorgeous papers from the Graphic 45 Fairie Dust Collection.

Check out these papers!  I have to say I love fairies and I am in love with this paper collection!  I layered a couple of the papers and cut part of a border from one.  The main image is a cut out from the paper pad as well.  I added Foam Tape behind the image to add a little dimension.  Next, I added some 1/4" Variegated Silk Ribbon by May Arts and White Venise Lace and made a bow with the ribbon.  I added some Petaloo Botanica Collection FuchsiaPurpleTeal flowers to the center of the bow.  For a little bit of sparkle I added some Prima Say It In Crystals Zella Teal.  These crystals are so pretty and full of sparkle.

I just love this color combination!  The ribbon and flowers match the paper perfectly.

All of the paper layers were adhered to a white A2 top folding card base.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed today's card share.  All of the supplies to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  The design team always has beautiful designs to share.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Best Wishes to the Graduate Card

Hello and good morning to everyone!  This past week seems like it just flew by.  Here where we live the kids only have one week of school left.  Where did the year go?  Can't believe our youngest will be a junior next year!  The graduation open houses are starting right away next weekend so I am trying to get graduation cards done so they will be ready to go.

This isn't a traditional looking graduation card but I love how it turned out.  I used some of the beautiful papers from the  Kaisercraft - Wandering Ivy collection.  I just love these papers!  The images are so pretty and Kaiseercraft never disappoints.

For the sentiment I used one of the tags from the back of the paper pad.  It originally said -- Best Wishes to You.  I wanted to cover up the -- to You part on the tag and add To the Graduate so I created a banner.  I used a piece of black cardstock and prepped it with the EK Success Powder Tool.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Scripture for Graduation & Beyond SS-028 stamp set using VersaMark Ink.  Next, I applied Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder - White and used my heat tool to melt and heat set the powder.  I fussy cut fishtail ends on the strip of cardstock to create the banner.  I added some beautiful May Arts 1.5" Sheer Flower w/Pearl Center - Blue ribbon around the card and then I added the tag and banner on top.  I added Foam Tape to both the tag and banner to add some dimension to the card.  To finish off the card I added some Prima Flowers - Serenade Blue and some My Mind's Eye Blue Enamel Dots.

I adhered all of the layers to a white A2 top folding card base and that finished off the card.  This paper collection is full of tags and other cut outs that are similar to the one I used on my card and can very easily be changed up by creating a banner sentiment to go along with them.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed the card share!  All of the supplies used to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you would like to see more card inspiration from the design team I encourage you to visit the Stamp Simply Blog.

I hope you have a wonderful day and happy Friday!

Hugs, love and blessings,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - A Friend Like You CAS Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Did you all have a Happy New Year?  Ours was pretty low key.  My husband ended up getting food poisoning a couple days before and he still wasn't feeling the best so we just stayed home.  Our youngest son had his girlfriend Lydia over so we just hung out watched some tv and had some snacks.  Like I said pretty low key--but that's ok.

I'm looking forward to 2018 and hopefully it's better than 2017.  Thank you so much to all of my new subscribers from the Seasons Giving Blog Hop!  If you haven't left a comment on that post there is still time and I am giving away a $30 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp so I encourage you to check that out.  You can click HERE to see the post.  I asked what everyone would like to see on my blog in 2018 and watercolor came in number one!  Backgrounds, tutorials, cards and jewelry were all in the top running too.  So I will be working on some upcoming projects with watercolor to share with all of you.

If you are new to my blog I post every Friday for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  For the most part I post cards and they range from CAS (Clean And Simple) to tutorials with watercolor or ink blending backgrounds.

For today's card I went with CAS.  This card could be used as a thinking of you card but also for Valentine's.  The paper collection is from Kaisercraft - Cottage Rose.  I layered a couple pieces of the pattern paper and then added a bow down the center with May Arts Sheer with Gold Glitter ribbon.  This is some of my favorite ribbon.  It's sheer so you can still see the beautiful papers but adds just enough sparkle with the glitter.

The tag is a cut out from the same paper collection and I thought it had such a sweet sentiment.  I added a piece of white cardstock behind the tag and trimmed it to leave a nice crisp white edge around the tag.  I added some Foam Tape to the back of the tag and also a small touch of hot glue to adhere it to the card front and placed it right under the bow.  To finish off the tag I added a  Petaloo Botanica Collection Pink Minis flower to the top of the tag.

I added more foam tape to the card front and then placed that on a white A2 top folding card base.  The paper collection is filled with cut outs so you would be able to create several CAS cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed the card share.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to take a look at the Stamp Simply Blog.  All of the supplies are listed and linked below and can be found at

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - We Wish You A Merry Christmas Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  I can't believe Christmas is this weekend?  Do you have all of your shopping and gift wrapping done?  I wish I could say yes to that question but unfortunately the answer is no.  I've been a bit under the weather so we are a little behind with our shopping and gift wrapping.  But I'm not going to stress about it because somehow everything that needs to get done always does. :) So today, I have my last Christmas card to share with you.

I know it's getting down to the wire for making Christmas cards so I wanted to keep it CAS (Clean And Simple).  I love using paper collections that have lots of cut aparts for CAS cards.  The Doodlebug - Milk and Cookies collection has several cut aparts that are perfect for CAS cards.  I used the cute image of the Santa and then I backed it with a piece of white cardstock and added some Foam Tape to the back side for some added dimension.  Then I used another piece of the pattern paper for a mat on the card base.  I added the image of the Santa and then I cut one of the sentiment strips from the same paper collection.  I fussy cut banner ends on the sentiment strip.  Then I added some more Foam Tape to one side of the banner and EZ Runner to the other side.  Doing this pops up the sentiment strip to match the Santa image.  Next, I added some  May Arts - Red Wrinkled Edge Sheer Ribbon around the bottom of the card and tied it in a simple knot.

Here is a close up of the cute little Santa image.  Cut aparts like this make for very quick CAS cards.

I love the pattern paper in the background with all of the candy.  Especially the ribbon candy--it reminds me of Christmas when I was little.  I added Ranger - Glossy Accents to the candy cane Santa is holding on to and all of the candy canes on the pattern paper.  Doing this adds a fun texture element to the card.

For this card I used a piece of red cardstock to create a A2 top folding card base.  I hope you enjoyed this CAS card for today.

You can click on the image below to enlarge it and see all of the details.  The Sales and Specials at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store are good through the end of the year.

If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  All of the supplies used to create this card are listed and linked below and can be found at

I'm not sure if I will be doing another blog post before Christmas or not.  If not I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!!!
I hope you have a wonderful time with your family and friends.  Good times creating beautiful memories but most important of all remembering the true meaning of Christmas.

Much love and blessing,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Poinsettia Tea Cup Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today, I have a card to share with you using the NEW Stamp Simply Clear Stamp - Coffee or Tea? SS-023.  You might have seen a sneak peek of this card on the Stamp Simply Blog when Sharon announced the new releases.

Here is the card I designed.  This card could be used for Christmas or just as a thinking of you card through the winter months.  The stamp set is filled with several sentiments and verses.  The die set is a really fun one because it allows you to be able to build you cup.  There are two different sizes of the cups with matching handles, two little steam swirls, the words coffee and tea, and a tiny tag.  Some of the sentiments in the stamp set fit perfectly with the tiny tag.

To create the cup I die cut the cup two times.  Once using Wild Rose Studios - Birds & Berries and for the second one I used Gold Mirror Cardstock.  I also die cut the handle with the gold mirror cardstock.

I have a beautiful tea cup collection that was my Great Grandma's.  Several of the cups are edged in gold and I wanted to create the same look for my cup.  I cut the top and bottom of the gold die cut piece and then offset them and adhered them to the back of the pattern paper.

Here is a look at the cup once it was assembled.  I just love the gold accents and it reminds me of my Great Grandma's tea cup collection.

I die cut three of the little steam swirls from Vellum.  I adhered two to the back of the cup and then added the third swirl at the top.  I used glossy accents to adhere the steam swirls.  Since almost all adhesives show through vellum I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on top of the swirls and then added White Pearls to each of them to help cover up where the adhesive was showing.

Here is a close up of the cup.  I also added some of the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the flowers on the pattern paper.  I added more white pearls along the top of the cup.  I die cut one of the tiny tags using white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Ink.  I used a piece of May Arts Gold Metallic String to attach the tag to the handle on the cup.

The card is a white A2 top folding card base.  I used a couple more pieces of the pattern paper from the same collection to layer in the background.  Then I used Foam Tape to attach the cup to the front of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed the card share.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  All of the supplies to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy Holidays!

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Baby It's Cold Outside Christmas Card

Hello everyone and happy December 1st!  Gosh, it just doesn't seem like December at all lol.  The weather has been so beautiful here in southern Minnesota the past few weeks.  Today, I have a fun Christmas card to share with you.

I didn't think about the sentiment on the card until after the card was made.  Kind of funny since it's been unusually warm here lol.  But I know the cold it coming!  Isn't this paper darling?  The collection is from Simple Stories - Winter Wonderland 6 x 6 paper pad.  I love that so many companies have paper collections with sentiments and cutouts.  It makes card creating so quick and easy.  If you are a beginner or have been paper crafting for years I think we can all appreciate being able to whip up some cards easy peasy.

Here is a close up of one of the corner clusters.  For each corner I used a snowflake from the May Arts Satin Jumbo Silver Snowflakes - By the Yard ribbon.  This is a fun ribbon but the snowflakes are also great to cut apart and use as embellishments.  I added a Petaloo Botanica Minis Teal Flower in the center of the snow flake.  Then, I applied Ranger Glossy Accents on the flower and sprinkled on some Ranger Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy for some sparkle.  I love the clear rock candy on flowers!  Next, I added a few sequins.  I used the 5mm Silver Sequins and 5mm Iridescent White.  If you look close at the white sequins even though they are the iridescent ones they appear to be just white.  I wanted to add some white sequins but didn't really want the iridescent look for this card and I noticed these sequins are an opaque white on the backside.  So why not run with that--I flipped them over and glued them down.  They still look great and more bang for your buck--gotta love that!

Here is a close up of the sentiment.  It was hard to get a picture of but this card is filled with tons of shimmer IRL.  I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sentiment and all of the floral and leaf images on the pattern paper.

Here is a close up of the bottom part of the card.  You can click on the image to enlarge it and see some of the shimmer.  All the sparkle and shimmer from the Wink of Stella pen never gets old and I especially love it on Christmas cards.

I added some Foam Tape behind the sentiment and then the card front was added to a snow cone A2 top folding card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed today's card share.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.

The Stamp Simply Store - Harvest Meadow Thanksgiving Card

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a CAS (Clean And Simple) Fall card to share with you using one of the Stamp Simply Clear Stamp sets and the beautiful papers from the Wild Rose Studio - Harvest Meadow collection.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamp - Give Thanks SS-009 stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on to a small piece of paper from the collection.  Then I layered it with another piece of the paper in a reddish orange color.  I used that same paper for a layered mat on the card.  For the card front I used a beautiful pattern paper with some wildflowers.  I added some Foam Tape behind the sentiment for some dimension.

Next, I added some May Arts 3/8" Solid Two Tone Copper ribbon with a bow down the left side of the card.  To finish off the card I added some Petaloo Botanica Collection Red Minis and Peach Minis.

The card base is an ivory A2 top folding card.  This is another paper collection that would be great to make multiple CAS cards.  If you like the card design but would rather not have the bulk from the bow and flowers for mailing you could just have a strip of the ribbon on the side and maybe add some enamel dots or sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  If you would like to see more card inspiration from the design team I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  All of the supplies used to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Happy Crafting!
Heidi
