Jewel Dungeon Keys for Halloween

Happy first day of Fall!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for and it will be here before we know it.  For my project I made a fun home decor piece for Halloween using  S5-099 Jewel Keys die templates from the Positively Me Collections by Julianna Hudgins from Spellbinders .  I also used several products from Artistic Wire and Beadalon.

I designed a set of jewel dungeon keys for Halloween.  I thought this key ring would make a great accent piece with other Halloween decorations and it's quick and easy to make.

To see more pictures and find out all of the details please click HERE to check out my post on the
Positively Me by Julianna C. Hudgins Blog.  I have a full step-by-step tutorial with several pictures to share with you on how I designed this fun Halloween key ring.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a Fantastic weekend!

Heidi

Blog Candy Winner - Shabby Chic Vase/Business Card Holder

Hello blogging friends!  Sorry I have been mia for a few days.  We had a storm come through a couple of days ago and we didn't have any power or internet.  But everything is up and going and now I am trying to play catch up with blogging.  ;-)   This blog post is going to be a mix of a few different things--Blog Candy Winner, a project to share and answering some emails and comments.

First lets start off with announcing the WINNER of the Bazzill Basics Paper Blog Candy.

I want to say Thank You so much to everyone who played along!!

This time I printed out all of the comments and cut them into strips.

Then I had my little guy help me out again and pick a winner.

And the Winner IS----------->

CONGRATULATIONS Jan Castle!!!

Great tags Heidi! I am a follower and do so enjoy your blog! I like the Beach House...guess it is because our daughter lives a block from the beach and all the pictures I get from her are at the beach...LOL!
Paper Hugs,
Jan Castle in Salem, OR

I have emailed Jan and I am sure I will be hearing from her really soon.  She is a sweet lady and has been a follower on my blog for a long time.

Ok, now for a project to share.

A couple of weeks ago my neighbor lady had a garage sale and I picked up this little vase.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it because it was pretty tiny but I thought it was really cute and I figured I could alter it or us it in a project.  I took it out the other day and when I was looking at it trying to figure out what I could do I realized this would make a really pretty shabby chic business card holder.

I decided to alter it and this is what I came up with.  I added a medium sized pink chandelier piece and then I added circle pearl sprays to each size.

I filled in the center with pink mulberry flowers, pink and white ribbon and porcelain roses, white porcelain roses and clear mini chandelier pieces.  All of the embellishments are from Pro 31 Designs.

I just love how this turned out!  ;-)

I want to answer the comments and emails that I have received in regards to having the word verification on my blog in the comments.  I know that sometime it can be hard to read it and I am sorry but there isn't anything that I can do to change that.  Last week I had a few comments with people saying they don't like the word verification and I also had a few emails about it.  I originally put it on because I was having a lot of issues with  spam comments.  But I thought I would take it off again and see how things go.  Within less then 24 hours I had 15+ spam hits and comments on my blog.  So I turned the word verification back on.  I am sorry and I know it is a pain but I just do not have the time to monitor the blog for spam so for now it will stay until I can come up with a better solution.  Thanks for understanding!! ♥

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you all have a Fantastic weekend!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Pro 31 Designs - August DT Challenge - Altered Clothespins

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is the Pro 31 Designs DT Challenge for the month of August.  Our DT Challenge Coordinator is Anna Fallas and for this month the challenge was to alter clothespins.  We could do one large chunky one or 3-4 med. to small clothes pins.  The clothespins had to be shabby chic and in light colors.  I didn't have any of the large clothespins so I altered 3 medium sized ones.

Here is a look at the two project I designed with altered clothespins.  I made two magnet clothespins to embellish and hold a notepad and then I made a mini note card holder using another clothespin.

For the clothespins on the notepad I used Ranger Acrylic Snow Cap Paint Dabber.  Once the paint was dry  I added Stretchy Pink Crochet Lace Trim in a double layer on each clothespin and 4mm White Flat Back Pearl Stands down the center.  To finish them off I added Leaves (Sm), Porcelain Blue Roses, Pink Mulberry Roses and then a little Diamond Stickles for some sparkle.  I also added a border across the top of the notepad using Satin White Box Pleated Trim4mm White Flat Back Pearl Stands and a Large Blue Acrylic Flower.

Here is another close up look.

To create the little flower pot clothespin note card holder I used the paint dabber to paint the clothespin and flower pot.  After the paint was dry I used hot glue and glued the clothespin topper into the bottom of the flower pot.  Then I added Satin White Box Pleated Ribbon Trim, Stretchy Pink Crochet Lace Trim and 4mm White Flat Back Pearl Stands around the top of the flower pot.  To fill the flower pot I used Leaves (Sm), Porcelain Blue Roses and Pink Mulberry Roses.  I also added Diamond Stickles to all of the flowers and leaves.  To finish it off I added the little mini note cards.

Here is a close up.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Also please be sure to visit Pro 31 Designs and check out all of the fun crafty supplies.  I have to tell you this is the first time I have ever altered clothespins and I honestly wasn't sure what I was going to do with them--LOL!  But I had a lot of fun altering them.  Thanks for a great challenge Anna and for making me think outside the box! *wink*

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

JustRite Papercraft Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves - Antique Autumn Tags - Antique Tags One Dies - Autumn Blessings Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have another New Release from JustRite Papercraft to share with you.

To start I cut/embossed S5-135 A2 Fancy Ribbon Threader with watercolor paper and then I stamped a cluster of the leaf images using the masking technique.

Here is a picture once I removed all of the masks.

I colored the images using Distress Markers.

Next I placed the same masks over the leaves and then I put the die cut back into the die template and used it as a stencil to airbrush with Copic markers.

Here is a picture once the masks were removed and the airbrushing was done.

To create the sentiment I stamped the image with Rich Cocoa ink onto watercolor paper.  Next I used one of the die templates from JB-03775 Antique Labels One Dies to cut/emboss the tag.  Before die cutting I added Truffle Mix'd Media Inx to the inside of the die template and then die cut the image.  Doing this gives a nice crisp inked edge on the die cut.  Then I used Distress Markers to color the image.

Here is a close up of the leaves and tag with sentiment.

I added this beautiful Rudbeckia Hand-Dyed Silk Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to the ribbon threader and then added a bow.  I thought this ribbon was a perfect match!  I also added some foil die cuts for embellishments.  To create the die cuts I used S5-120 Fall Foliage and Precious Metals Premium Craft Foils Assortment from Spellbinders.

Please be sure to visit each of the JustRite Papercraft Design Team Members in the link list below to see what they have to share with you.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a Happy Monday!

Hugs & Smiles,

**Update--for the past 3 years I have had a Paper Crafting Sale at my house to clear out some of my supplies and make room for new supplies.  I have received several phone calls and emails asking if I am having a sale this year and if so when will it be.  The answer is Yes I will be having a sale but it's going to be a few more days before I will be posting the date--just trying to get everything figured out and when will be the best time to have the sale.  So check back because I will be posting the dates of the sale in the next few days.
