Here is the necklace I designed. I used Amber Shell Coins, Shell Beads, Champagne Pearls and 18 mm Silver Mesh. The Shell Coins and Shell Beads have a look of pearl when the light hits them so the colors work perfectly with the Champagne Pearls and Silver Mesh. The flower picks up both the dark tones in the Shell Coins, Shell Beads and the Pearls.

I typed up the sentiment on the computer, printed it out and then cut each word into a block and inked the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink and added 3D Foam Squares.

I also used S5-131 A-2 Matting Basics A, S5-132 A-2 Matting Basics B and S5-133 A-2 Polka Dots die templates along with the Grand Calibur from Spellbinders. All of the cardstock is from Discount Cardstock and I used Pink Lemonade for the daisy, Herbal Garden for the leaves and smaller flourish, Soot for the larger flourish and Simply Smooth White for the sentiment. I added a couple of gold filigree jewelry findings, a blue flower button and a pearl to the center of the daisy. I also added a couple of pink mulberry roses from Pro 31 Designs on each side of the flower and a little Diamond Clear glitter from The Rubber Cafe for a little added sparkle. For the sentiment I used one of the stamps from the Friends set from The Rubber Cafe.

I am over the moon with excitement and so thrilled to have a few of my projects in the new book and I thought I would share one with you today. Here's one that I absolutely loved how it turned out. It has all of the things I love vintage, shabby and totally girly girl with all of the EMBELLISHMENTS. I am honored to be introducing the new Cut Fold Tuck dies from Spellbinders! These European inspired designs create beautifully layered geometric designs in one pass through your die cutting machine! Simply fold the pieces, tuck them under and watch as the amazing designs develop! With multiple dies in each set, you can easily and quickly create different sized Cut Fold Tuck die cuts, or layer them for wonderful dimensional effects!

To start I used the two larger die templates in the S5-113 Floral Burst set and Racy Raspberry DoubleMates cardstock. The paper is double sided with a light color on one side and a darker color on the other side which is perfect for creating die cuts with the Cut, Fold and Tuck die templates. I used the Grand Calibur® machine to cut/emboss the die cut shapes.
The next step is to lift up and fold the paper on all of the cut lines.
Once all the pieces are folded over then tuck the cut lines behind the previous fold, it's super easy! This is what the die cut will look like once all of the cut lines are folded and tucked in.
Then cut/emboss the largest shape using S5-113 Floral Burst die template and the Grand Calibur with Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock from Discount Cardstock. I inked the entire die cut with Antique Linen Distress Ink before folding and tucking.
Next fold and tuck the die cut. Inking the die cut before folding it will give you a two tone look.
I used EL-007 Elegance M-Bossabilities folder to emboss a piece of Bronze Metallic cardstock from Discount Cardstock. I love the crisp and deep embossing you can achieve using the M-Bossabilities folders!
I lightly sanded the cardstock to reveal the black core.
Before adding the die cuts I adhered a piece of Antique Gold Satin Wrinkle Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Here you can see the dimension from layering the die cuts. I added LeCreme pearls from Want2Scrap to the die cuts and some hand made trinket pins for embellishments.
The back side of the foil is silver so the foil also works great to achieve the two tone look. I used Scrap Happy Sheer Glue from The Rubber Cafe to adhere all of the foil pieces. There is a fine tip on the applicator on the glue bottle which makes it really easy to apply the glue in all of the small areas. I added black rhinestones from Want2Scrap in the center of the die cuts and along the edge of the plate.
Here is a close up of one of the candles. I used Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock and embossed it with EL-007 Elegance M-Bossablitities folder. Then to add the color I used Distress Inks. I added one of the small foil die cuts to the center of each candle and then added black rhinestones.

Hello Blogging Friends! I can't believe it's already New Year's Eve!! It seems like this past year just kind of flew by. If you go out to celebrate tonight please be safe!! We are staying in this year. Not really sure what we are going to do--maybe just hang out, watch some movies and have some goodies. We just celebrated our last Christmas celebration last night and it was so nice to see everyone.
Today, I have a Christmas layout to share with you. The picture is from this year when we went over to my parents house for Christmas. It's just a simple picture with the Christmas tree and some presents but I love how the lights reflect off of the window--it looks so pretty!

Hello blogging friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa was good to you. Did you have a white Christmas? Did you get some fun new crafty supplies? We had a very nice and relaxing Christmas and we still have one more to celebrate. I have to say Santa was pretty darn good to me!! I got some fun new crafty supplies--132 set of Prismacolor pencils (SO excited about these!!), some fun quilling tools ( I am actually going to use them for flower making) and a fantastic book with over 45 mixed media techniques for backgrounds. I also got a Huge surprise with a Gorgeous ring!! The one downer for Christmas is that we didn't get any snow so instead of a white Christmas we had a brown one--it seems so strange!
Ok, enough of me rambling on LOL! Here is a card I designed using some products that are new to me and I have to tell you I am LOVING them!!!
One of my favorite new to me products is Scrap Happy Sheer Glue--LOVE IT!! I have several friends who use this glue and have told me I would love it and boy oh boy were they right! Not only is it a fantastic glue for putting all of your crafty projects together but you can also do some pretty cool techniques with it---which is a great bonus! The Scrap Happy Sheer Glue stays tacky even once it starts to dry which allows you to add glitter to your projects.
Oh and the glitter--You're So Fine Glitter--another favorite new to me product!! I LOVE Glitter and I can honestly say I have never seen or worked with glitter that is this fine! It is Amazing!! It's almost like a powder. If you love glitter like I do you will want to check this stuff out and give it a try. Both the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and You're So Fine Glitter are from The Rubber Cafe™. I used one of the Bon Appetit stamps for the center image. Instead of using ink on my stamped I used a cosmetic sponge and applied the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue to the image and then stamped on to Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock from DCS. I used S5-025 Labels Seventeen for the stamped image and layered it on top of another die cut made using S5-071 Twisted Metal Tags and Accents both from Spellbinders™. If you do this technique you need to wash your stamp right away to remove the glue. I just use warm soapy water and a little nail brush to wash my stamps. Once you are done washing your stamp the glue will have set long enough to be somewhat dry but still tacky. To apply the glitter I just dip my finger in the color I would like and apply it to the glue image rubbing it on in a circular motion. Apply one color at a time. Once you are finished tap off the excess glitter. The colors of glitter I used are listed and linked below.
Here is another close up. The glitter is so fine and it picks up every little detail from the stamped image. When it is done it has the look of embossed foil, but with the added sparkle and it doesn't rub off.
I created the background using a leaf stamp from the Bon Appetit stamp set. Another great technique I discovered is using the glue as a resist, but I will be talking about that a little more in another upcoming post. ;-)

Good morning blogging friends! I know it has been a few days since my last post. I have just been busy trying to get things ready for the holidays and trying to finish up some Christmas cards. I wanted to let you all know my new meds are starting to work and I am starting to feel a little better. I also wanted to thank all of you who left me comments about trying ginger tea--I think it is helping too! Now if this darn weather would straighten out maybe then I would be feeling better all the way around. It has been raining, cold, windy and now they are taking about snow for tonight. All of the crazy changes with the weather seem to really effect my RA too. But for the most part I am starting to feel a little better with each passing day. Thank you all so much for your comments, and continued thoughts and prayers!!!
Ok are you ready to see what I have to share with you for today? I made a paper Christmas ornament using several papers from Discount Cardstock, die templates from Spellbinders™ and ribbon and trim from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Check out the fun little pine cones! After hearing all about the pine cones Tim Holtz made on one of his 12 Tags of Christmas (day one) I just had to try making them using the S4-351 Spiral Blossom One die templates from Spellbinders and it works perfectly! I was able to make these two little pine cones and there was still enough paper left from one die cut to make another one. So from one die cut you can make three little pine cones! Gotta love that!! I brushed the tips of the pine cones with white acrylic paint and then added some glitter.
I love the metallic papers and I think is my favorite Christmas card so far this year.
I used S5-055 Layered Poinsettia and S4-328 Foliage die templates to create the little cluster of flowers. I used Copic Marker RV69 Peony to airbrush using the die templates as a stencil. Next I layered the flowers and leaves using 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™. Then I added Pralines & Cream Fairy Dust Glitter from Clearsnap and I also added some pearl flower stamens and white pearls to the flower centers.
