The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Springtime Fairies Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a pretty springtime card to share with you.

Do you remember this beautiful paper collection?  I now I know some you might be thinking that's an older collection and yes it is but I think it was a favorite to so many and just recently Graphic 45 released a Deluxe Collector's Edition - Springtime 12x12.  I have always loved this collections with all the little fairies, bunnies and flowers.  I created this quick and easy card with a little fussy cutting, a die cut and paper layering.  After that I added a few flowers and pearls for embellishments.  The finished card measures 3-1/4 x 6-3/4.

I fussy cut the images of the fairies and then added 3D Foam Squares to pop them up.  I used  Spellbinders S4-441 Mary Border Strip die template to create the beautiful border die cut.  I used some of the pattern paper for the die cut.  Then I layered those pieces on to some ivory cardstock.  Behind that I layered more of the pattern paper.  To embellish the card I added a few  Melissa Frances Pearls-CreamPetaloo Botanica Collection White Minis, and Kaisercraft Fairy Floss (pink) Flowers.  For some sparkle I used the  Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the wings and tiny flowers on the fairies.

Here is a close up of one of the fairies.  Love the sparkle on the wings!

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you have a great weekend!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

ButterBeeScraps - Pretty Pink Flower Filigree Necklace

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a jewelry piece to share with you.  I designed a necklace using several products from ButterBeeScraps Artistic Treasures.

I had some fun creating this piece and adding some color to the bronze filigree pieces.  The base is a beautiful Bronze Square Filigree and I painted it with Lumiere Pearl Turquoise Paint.  Once the paint was dry I used steel wool to buff the filigree piece so some of the paint would be removed and the bronze metal would show.  Doing this gives the metal piece a patina look.

Next I painted the Bronze Flower 8426 using Vintaj Patina Paint Quartz and Ruby.  I painted the bottle petals with Quartz.  For the middle layer of petals I mixed the Quartz and Ruby paint.  Then for the top layer of petals I used the Ruby paint.  Once the paint was dry I used E6000 to adhere the square and flower filigree pieces.  Then when the adhesive was dry I gave the metal pieces a couple coats of Krylon Crystal Clear Matte Finish.

I added three 6x8mm Faceted Glass Abacus Beads - Clear AB to the center of the flower and I added one Clear AB SS10 Pointy Back Crystal Rhinestone in the center of the beads.  I also added the Clear AB SS10 Pointy Back Crystal Rhinestones to the stamen part of the flower.

I used a metal hole punch to punch a hole in the bottom of the square filigree piece.  Then I made some beaded dangles to hang from the bottom.  I used Bronze Ball End Head PinBronze Filigree Bead Caps (Item #CAP046-B)6x8mm Faceted Glass Abacus Beads - Clear AB8x12mm Faceted Glass Teardrop Beads - Clear AB, Aqua Crystal Beads and Pink Flower Bead Caps to create the dangles.  Then I attached them using Bronze Jump Rings.

To finish off the necklace I added some bronze chain and a lobster clasp.

This would be a perfect necklace for Spring--now we just need some warmer weather LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Hugs,
Heidi

Ken Oliver Crafts - Change the World Card with Color Burst

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a fun and colorful card to share with you.  Have you heard about the new product called Color Burst from Ken Oliver?

Color Burst is an exciting new product!  It's a micro fine pigment powder and once you add water to it the colors really truly burst!  It is available in six beautiful and vibrant colors.

Here is the card I designed using Alizarin Crimson and Orange Color Burst.  I used Color Burst to tint some Gel Gloss for stenciling, create a watercolor background and to hand dye some seam binding.  There are so many different applications that Color Burst can be used for.

I mixed some of the  Golden Extra Heavy Gel Gloss with the Alizarin Crimson Color Burst to create this pretty pink tint.  It only takes just a tiny little sprinkle.

Here is a close up of the pretty pink mix.  I used a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper along with the Prima Finnabair Elementals Lace Stencil and applied the tinted Gel Gloss and then set it aside to dry.  Be sure to wash the stencil right away for easy cleaning.

Once the gel was dry then I wet the watercolor paper and started adding the Alizarin Crimson and Orange Color Burst to create a beautiful watercolor background.  I have to say I just LOVE this color combination!  It's so pretty!!

I created a color pallet with my Color Burst.  To do this just sprinkle a little of the Color Burst and add water.  When you're done set it aside to dry (my pallet has a plastic lid) and then next time you want to use it just add some water to reactive the Color Burst.

Here is a quit tip.  If you want to have more control over the Color Burst when adding water you can use a water bottle with a dropper.  Since the Color Burst is a Micro Fine Powder even the little bit of air that comes out from a mist bottle can move the Color Burst powder and it might end up where you don't want it.  But if you use a dropper you will have a lot more control.  I picked up a couple of these bottles at Hobby Lobby and they were very inexpensive.

Here is a close up of the background piece.

Here is a close up of the sentiment.  I used the flourish and sentiment stamp from the 71 006059 Ken Oliver WATERCOLORED MEMORIES Clear Stamp Set 2.  I used Memento Inks, Angel Pink for the flourish and Tangelo for the sentiment.  Then I used Tonic Studio 175e TOPPER DIE INNER SET - THANK YOU die template to create the label shape.  I added a few  Wild Orchid Craft Flowers MKX-122 Mixed Pink/White Cosmos Daisy and for the leaves I used one of the die templates from the 657e ROYAL FERN DIE SET from Tonic Studio.  For the bow I used some hand dyed seam binding.  Can you guess how I dyed the seam binding?  Yep, that's right--Color Burst! For some sparkle I added a few sequins and then I also went over the flowers and leaf die cuts using the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen
**NOTE** Tonic Studio dies linked to a US site and UK site in the supply list.

Here is one more close up of the Color Burst watercolor background with the tinted gels gloss and stenciling.

I hope you enjoyed the card and tutorial today.  I hope it inspires you to give Color Burst a try!  If you do please let me know--leave a link to your blog or gallery.  I would love to see your artwork!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you have a wonderful and creative weekend!

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Easter Blessings Card

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have an Easter card to share with you.

This Easter card is pretty CAS (Clean And Simple) it is mostly die cutting with a little bit of Copic coloring.  Now if you don't have Copics or if you don't like to color you can still create a card like this using different colors of cardstock and paper piecing.  It will just require a little more die cutting.

Here is a close up of the bunny in the flowers and grass.  I used S2-160 Die D-Lites - Bunny and S2-152 D-Lites - Flower Field die templates to die cut the shapes.  All of the pieces were cut from white cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.  The coloring was very simple and hardly any blending.  I used some 3D Foam Squares to pop up the two larger flowers and I offset the die cut shapes to give the flowers a different look.  Then I added Melissa Frances White Pearls for flower centers.

Here you can see what all of the die cut shapes looked like once I colored them and the markers I used.  Like I said this is very easy coloring and you could also use just regular markers or do the paper piecing.

I used CR-02152 Best Wishes Clear Stamp Set from JustRite® Papercraft for the sentiment.  To create the die cuts I used S3-205 D-Lites - Petite Labels One.  I used 3D Foam Squares to pop up the label shapes.  All of the die cut pieces were adhered to a piece of light blue cardstock and then on to a top fold white card front.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Hello Friend Card with Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Paper

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a CAS (Clean And Simple) card to share with you.

Here is the card I designed using the  Graphic 45 Botanical Tea collection.  This paper is so beautiful and so easy to work with.  When paper has so many beautiful patterns you don't want to cover it up and the paper pretty much does the work for you.  I just fussy cut the main image and then layered it with a few more beautiful pieces of pattern paper.  To embellish the card I added a few Melissa Frances Cream Pearls and some Petaloo Botanica Collection Minis Pink flowers.  For a little sparkle I used the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen over top of the flowers and dragonfly in the main image.  I was able to make this card from start to finish in under 10 minutes. There are several images that could be used for the focal point in this paper pad so you would easily be able to create several CAS cards just like this one.

Here is a close up so you can see all the sparkle from the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen.  Love this pen!  It adds just the right amount of sparkle to any project.

Here is the card that I designed using CR-02152 Best Wishes Clear Stamps and CL-02159 Bold Vines Cling Background Stamp.  I stamped the background using VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  Next I used Mixed Oval Layering Die Set 485e from Tonic Studios to create both of the oval die cuts.  I cut one with white cardsock and stamped floral images and the sentiment and for the other oval I used Gold Mirror cardstock.  I colored the floral images with Distress Markers and then added a few pearls.

JustRite Papercraft Celtic Knot Background and Wishing You Rainbows Sentiments - Distress Markers Technique with Three Cards

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a few more February New Releases from JustRite® Papercraft to share with you.  Due to my schedule I wasn't able to post on all of the release days so please be sure to check out the JustRite Inspiration Blog so you don't miss any of the New Releases.

Today, I have three cards to share with you.  I used the same stamp sets on all three cards and the same technique but they all have a different look.

Here is a quick look at all three cards.  I used CL-02122 Celtic Knot Background Stamp on all three cards but I did three generations of stamping.  See how the background colors get lighter with each card.  I inked the stamp one time using Tim Holtz Distress Markers (listed below).  Then I misted the stamp and the watercolor paper with water and stamped the background image.  Then repeat two more times.  With each stamping you will get lighter color tones.

Here you can see all three backgrounds.  This is a very easy technique and a great way to create multiple cards but with different looks.

Here is the first card.  This one has the brightest and bold colors of all three cards.  I used a sentiment from the CR-02118 Wishing You Rainbows Sentiments.  To create the label I used S4-462 Labels Thirty-Nine die template.  Then I added some Brass Filigree Embellishment (Item #949-G) from ButterBeeScraps on each side of the label and a few Wild Orchid Craft Flowers.

Here is a close up.

Here is the second card.  The sentiment is from CR-02118 Wishing You Rainbows Sentiments.  I used S5-156 Labels Twenty-Nine to create the label shape.  Then I made a bow with May Arts Light Blue Silk Ribbon and added that to the card front.  To finish off the card I added a few white pearls and a AB Cabochon Flower to the center of the bow.

Here is a close up.

Here is the third and final card.  I just love how soft the colors are on this one.  For the sentiment I used CR-02118 Wishing You Rainbows Sentiments.  To create the label shapes I used GLD-016 Baby Buntings die templates.  Then I layered the labels and added some Gold Metallic String to hang the labels from on the card front.  I added some Wild Orchid Craft Flowers and a few different kinds of sequins.  For a little more sparkle I added some diamond stickles to the flowers and around the label.

Here is a close up.

I hope you enjoyed this release and the cards for today!

Please be sure to check out all of the JustRite Design Team Members in the link list below to see what they have to share with you.
