First Communion Invitations

In a couple of weeks our youngest son is going to be celebrating his first communion, he is very excited about it! I have been busy making invitations to send to family and friends and I thought I would share the invitation with you today. I love the white and ivory together with a little touch of gold and brown. I am very happy with how the card turned out and it all came together so nicely. I started with the sentiment for the card. I used Trompe Script Uppercase Font Set 50pt, Trompe Script Lowercase Font Set 50pt and 2-3/8'' x 5-1/2'' Rectangular Stamper from JustRite Stampers to create the sentiment. I wanted to use one of the tags from Fancy Tags S4-235 die templates from Spellbinders™ but I wanted to make sure the sentiment would fit on the tag so I lined up the die template on top of the stamper and it was a perfect fit. I stamped the sentiment using brown ink and white cardstock and then I used the die template as a stencil to ink through with a lighter brown ink. Next I created the background mat for the cross using the Labels Thirteen S4-248 die template and Fleur De Lis Pattern Impressabilities™ I1-235 from Spellbinders™. I used white cardstock to cut/emboss the label and the impressability. I left the cardstock in the die template and inked the embossed area with brown ink.To create the cross I used white and ivory cardstock and three crosses from the Cross Collection S4-265 die templates from Spellbinders™. I cut/embossed all three crosses and then I edged the white crosses with a Metallic Gold Gelly Roll Pen from Sakura. To add dimension to the cross I used White 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES™ by 3L. As you can see in the picture above I used the small 3D Foam Squares and cut them in half for the tiny spaces on the diecuts. I added the 3D Foam Squares to the top two layers of the cross.Once all of the pieces were done then I assembled the card using Craft & Photo Tape from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES™ by 3L.Supplies~

Congratulations on your new DT! I hope that is one of the changes that made it neccesary for you to step down from JFF, and not that there is illness or other hardship.
