Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and that you were able to enjoy your time with family/friends. Today I have a layout to share with you.
Now I am not a traditional scrapbooker so I don't claim to know all the rules to scrapbooking. I have always considered myself a card maker, but I have been designing scrapbook layouts for different companies for the past couple of years.
I want to show you with this layout that even if you only have a small picture you can still make a great presentation with it on a layout. By adding a wider black mat behind the photo it really showcases it and makes it appear larger. I also added a
flourish and some pearls.
I knew before I started on the layout that I wanted to have a cascade of flowers on one side. For the flower images I used
Vintage Wildflower PreCut 1 and
Vintage Wildflower PreCut 2 stamp sets from
Heartfelt Creations. The
Wildflower stamp sets coordinate with the
Peony S4-193 die templates from
Spellbinders™. I also used
Leafy Swirls PreCut stamp set for all of the leaves. I stamped several flower images in all of the different sizes and the leaves with brown ink and then I colored them in with
Copic markers. Here is a picture of the largest flower with the first color of pink.
In this picture you can see where I came in with a darker pink and added some shading.
After I had all of the coloring done I lightly misted the images with Tattered Rose Glimmer Mist from
Tattered Angels and then I cut each of the floral images out using the
Peony S4-193 die templates from
Spellbinders™. Then I shaped each of the flowers and layered them together.
For the large circle background piece I stamped the leaf image three times going slightly off the paper because I wanted my leaves to go off of the paper. Here is a little tip, if you are going to be doing a layout where you have several layers and you are also stamping and need to figure out the perfect placement of the stamps lay your other pieces on top so you can get a visual of where to stamp. After I stamped the leaves then I misted the circle cutout with Timeless Lilac, Honey Dew Mist and Caribbean Blue Glimmer Mists from
Tattered Angels.
Next was the background paper, here is a before look at the paper. The paper is from
My Mind's Eye and it is from the new
Lush Line, Black Damask. This paper is Gorgeous on it's own and the damask pattern is a velvety flock. It's not only beautiful to look at but it also has a great texture. I love paper with black and white it allows you to add color if you like. I added color to the paper with
Glimmer Mist. I used all of the colors listed below in the supply list.
Here you can see all of the beautiful colors in the background paper and you can also see them on the larger picture of the finished layout. Adding the color really changes the look of the paper. Over the years with teaching classes I have heard so many people say, wow I would never think to change anything with my pattern paper. I say don't be afraid to change it up!
Once I had all of the pieces colored and cut out then I started to assemble the layout. Here is a close up of the flower cascade.
For the title I used the printer and then cut out the words making word blocks. I misted them with Honey Dew Mist
Glimmer Mist, distressed the edges and then added the blue rhinestones from
My Mind's Eye.
Along the bottom I added some green trim from
Webster's Pages and some black vintage buttons.
Here's a couple more close-up pictures of the flowers. I love all the added dimension for the flowers! I know a layout like this might be just a wee bit too think to put into an album but I like to create layouts like this and frame them for some beautiful wall art.

ReplyDeleteOMG, HFB...this is so beautiful!! You rocked this layout my friend..hugs Terre
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. I got this set and I stamped on a light violet paper and used versa marker and added clear embossing powder. I just make a card and I thought it was pretty but I have a long way go to have mine as pretty as yours. May I ask were you got the stamps? The shop where I got mine is going out of business and will not be reordering the stamps. Also where did you get your copic air system. TFS, Pam
ReplyDeletethis is a stunning LO. I really like how you did the flowers.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! Did you stamp the large flower 1 time then cut it out with the Peony or stamp it several times and cut it with the Peony. It's so full and beautiful, I can't imagine stamping one time.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is gorgeous, I love the stamps and nesties together. Just beautiful!
