Happy Valentine's Day and a Valentine's Card

Happy Valentine's Day!! No matter what you do today I hope your day is filled with LOVE! Here is the Valentine's card I created for my husband. The designer paper is from Webster's Pages, the black/gold cardstock is engraving foil and the ivory cardstock is from The Paper Company. The stamped images and sentiment are from the Cupcake Party stamp set from Crafty Secrets. To create the heart image I sprayed some Red Velvet Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels onto some white cardstock. Once the Glimmer Mist was dry I stamped the heart image using gold pigment ink and then I also embossed it with gold embossing powder and a heat tool. The card has several layers of die cuts creating a wonderful dimensional look. For the base of the card I used Labels Eight S5-019 die template to create the shape card. Then I used the next smaller size of the Labels Eight S5-019 to create a mat for the card. To add the look of flourishes I used two of the die templates from Fancy Tags S4-235. I also used the Deckled Rectangles Large S4-202 to create a frame and a mat for the front of the card. All of the die templates are from Spellbinders™ and I used foam tape in between all of the layers. I also added a little bling to each of the stamped flourishes using tiny clear rhinestones and Gem-Tac from Beacon Adhesives.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a Wonderful Valentine's Day!!!

JustRite - My Garden and Romantic Sentiments - Daisy Sunshine Card

Good afternoon! With all of the snow we have been getting I am soooo wishing for Spring!! But it's going to be awhile before we see the warmer temperatures and the snow melt. So I decide to create a pretty Spring card using two stamp sets My Garden and Romantic Sentiments from JustRite Stampers. Here is the card I created using My Garden and Romantic Sentiments stamp sets. Here is a close-up of the two stamps I used. The daisy image is from the My Garden stamp set and the sentiment is from Romantic Sentiments. Here is a picture of the My Garden stamp set. This set includes 4 Designer Centers, Cherry Blossom, Daisy, Morning Glory and Sweet Pea and the set also includes 4 Interchangeable Borders and fits the 3-1/4'' Round Stamper. Here is the Romantic Sentiments stamp set which includes 9 Designer Centers and the stamps fit the 1-5/8'' Round Stamper. I love all of these sentiments! These sentiments could be used for Valentine's, wedding, anniversary, birthday to that special someone and everyday sentiments just to name a few. I thought the "Thank you for being my Sunshine everyday!" was prefect for a Spring card. I started by stamping the daisy image three times.I colored the daisy images with Copic markers and then carefully cut them out. For the first two images I cut them smaller then the original image.I layered the two larger daisy images together, curled all of the petals and then added Nut Brown Flower Soft to the center of the flowers and set them aside to dry. Then I started working on the leaves. I used the Wizard™ and the On The Vine Border Grand S7-017 die template to make the embossed die cut. For the first set of leaves I used Citrene Post-it Craft Paper and then I lightly sanded it to reveal the white core. Then I added some Peeled Paint Distress Ink to add some depth to the leaves. I use some real high end tools for inking--a cotton ball and q-tip. *wink*Here is the darker Post-it Craft Paper, Jungle. I used the same steps as mentioned above to create the same effect. The only difference is the color of paper and on the darker leaves I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink.The Post-it Craft Paper has an adhesive backing which is wonderful to use with paper crafting! However on this card I wanted to use some foam mounting tape under the leaves to add some dimension so I took paint brush and dipped it into baby powder and lightly rubbed over each leave. Adding the baby powder will take away the stickiness from the adhesive backing. Then I added foam tape to each of the leaves. I also made a Polka Dot Frame with the Golden Post-it Craft Paper and the Polka Dot Frame S5-016 die template from Spellbinders™. I lightly sanded the frame and added pearls to some of the polka dots. I placed a white piece of cardstock behind the frame with the sentiment stamped in brown ink. Here is a close-up of the sentiment and the frame with pearls. To adhere the pearls I used Gem-Tac from Beacon Adhesives. Here is a close-up of the flowers. And here is one more close-up. I also added some dew drop to the top left corner. The dew drops were clear and I used a Copic marker along with the airbrush system to make a perfect color match for my card. At the bottom of the card I added some sheer orange ribbon from Creative Impressions.

Good morning! Today is the Just For Fun® Design Team Hop and all of the Design Team Members have been busy creating . Please be sure to hop on over and visit each of them and see some creative inspiration and there will be some Blog Candy too!! I will have a link list for all of the Just For Fun® Designers at the bottom of this post along with a couple pictures of some Blog Candy! Here is the card that I created for today's JFF® Design Team Hop. I used several stamp images from Just For Fun® to create a collage look. As I was making the card I decided to take pictures of each step and create a tutorial to share with you. The collage look is not a hard one to achieve it just takes a few step.Step 1~I started with a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of white cardstock and used Antique Linen Ink with a script stamp and randomly stamped the image. Step 2~ I added the tulips on each side using Peeled Paint Ink.Step 3~I used Worn Lipstick and Broken China Ink on the lady and butterfly collage image and I used the Rock-n-Roll technique. For the Rock-n-Roll technique ink the image up with one color (usually the lighter color) and then add the second ink only to the edges of the image. When you do this you place the ink pad on the edge of the stamp and kind of rock-n-roll it going around the edges. Steps 4 & 5~Using the Broken China ink stamp the butterfly images in the top corners. Sometimes the distress inks take a little longer to dry and I didn't want the embossing powder to get on the other images so I used my heat tool and heat set the inks before moving on to the next step. I used the flourish stamp with gold pigment ink going around the edges and then I used gold embossing powder and heat set.Step 6~ For the bottom half of the paper I added Peeled Paint ink using a cotton ball in a circular motion to create a nice soft inked effect.Step 7~ For the top half of the paper I used Broken China ink. I applied the ink as mentioned above and I also added the same color of ink to the inside of the butterfly image.Step 8~ Using Gem-Tac from Beacon Adhesives I applied Tiny Twinkles (black rhinestones) from Taylored Expressions to the center of the larger flowers in the flourish image. Here is a close-up of the Tiny Twinkles.Step 9~ I added a black mat to the stamped image and then for the card base I wanted to add a little more of the blue so I inked the edges of the card base with Broken China ink.Step 10~I created a tag for the sentiment using the Fancy Tags S4-235 and Labels Trio S3-147 die templates from Spellbinders™. On the Labels Trio tag I added some Peeled Paint ink and on the word sticker I added Broken China ink. I layered the tags and the word sticker using foam tape from 3M.Here is a close-up of the embossing.Another close-up.Here is another look at the finished card. I took this picture at an angle so you would be able to see the pretty gold embossed detail.

Crafty Secrets - Little Sea Star - NEW Mermaids Stamp Set

For today's card I used the NEW Mermaids stamp set from Crafty Secrets. This set is filled with beautiful mermaids, sea shells and sea horse images and eight sentiments to complete the set. Here is the card I created using this adorable little mermaid image.I started by stamping the image of the mermaid with brown ink and then I used the Wizard™ and Labels Six S4-230 die template from Spellbinders™ to make a die cut. All of the coloring was done using Copic markers and the airbrush system. I stamped the image of the mermaid onto some printer paper and cut out the image to use as a mask. I placed the cut out on top of the image creating a mask and then I was able to airbrush over the image. To create the clouds I used the Copic colorless blending pen. Once all of the coloring was finished I misted the entire piece with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. For the background paper I used the Wizard™ and the Circles Impressabilities™ I2-1005 to emboss the cardstock and before removing the Impressability™ I misted over the entire piece with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist. The sentiment was stamped using black ink and then I made a die cut tag using the Wizard™ and Fancy Tags S4-235 die template from Spellbinders™. Then I added color to the tag by airbrushing. I added some pom-pom trim along the bottom and I also added a shell and pearl cluster. Here is a close-up of the shell and pearl cluster. To finish off the card I added some Waterfall (blue) and Shell Pink glitter from Sparkle-n-Sprinkle to the image of the mermaid and I also added some tiny rhinestones and pearls on the card.

The Beautiful Blossom set fits the 2-1/4'' x 3-1/16'' Oval Stamper. Here is a close up of the stamp images I used. Here is the card I created for the JustRite Garden Tour II Blog Hop. I was very happy with how this card turned out, it has a soft vintage feel (that I love) with a little punch of color. I started by stamping the images with brown ink and coloring the flower images with Copic markers. Then I colored the leaves with Copic markers. Here is the finished piece. After I colored the image then I used the Wizard™ and the Classic Ovals Large S4-110 die template from Spellbinders™ to cut/emboss the oval shape. I also used the Classic Scalloped Ovals Large S4-111 die template to cut/emboss the scalloped oval for a mat. For the scalloped oval I used Cocoa Post-it Craft Paper and sanded the edges to reveal the white core and layered the pieces with foam tape. For the background paper I used Bashful Post-it Craft Paper and the Flower Silhouette Impressabilities™ I2-1015 from Spellbinders™ to emboss the paper. Then I sanded to reveal the white core and inked around the edges. I added some vintage buttons towards the bottom of the card. I love going to the antique shop and picking up jars of buttons!
