Happy 1st day of April! It must be warm somewhere, right? When we woke up this morning our youngest DS said he thought Mother Nature was playing an April Fool's joke on us--we woke up to a blanket of snow!! I am beginning to wonder if it will ever warm up!

Since it's cold outside I thought I would make a little something to bring Spring to the inside. Recently
Sandy Redburn, owner of
Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage released one of her NEW Products called
Creative Scraps.
Creative Scraps are colorful and very beautiful images printed on a sheet of cardstock measuring 8'' x 19'' and they come in six different themes.

For today's project I used the
Seasonal Calendar Creative Scraps to make a calendar for April. The Seasonal Calendar
months will work for April to Dec 2009, or Jan to Dec 2010.
To start out I cut out the calendar, month, and a couple of images (bunnies and little girl with flower) from the
Seasonal Calendar Creative Scraps. For the month, calendar and the bunny image I lightly inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink from Ranger.

On the little girl image I distressed the edges and then used the same ink to ink the edges of the image.

Using my
Wizard and
Labels Three S4-189 die template from
Spellbinders along with a piece of designer paper from
My Minds Eye, I made a diecut and then embossed it.

Before I removed the diecut from the template I used it as a stencil and inked around the inside edges of the die cut using the Vintage Photo ink. I used form tape on the month and the calendar to add some dimension. I also added some stickers from the
Crafty Secrets Spring Joy Heartwarming Vintage Sticker Sheet.
I added some ribbon and lace to the center and some buttons, dew drops and a prima flower for embellishments. I also stamped a flourish vine stamp from
Crafty Secrets Mini Memories stamp set using the Vintage Photo ink and the background paper was also misted with
Iridescent Gold and Old Lace Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.
