Crafty Secrets - National Scrapbooking Day - $50 Giveaway - Photo Challenge

Good morning Happy May Day and Happy NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY!!!! In honor of NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage has been having a Fabulous Celebration all week long with several $50 Giveaways!! Several of the Design Team Members will be announcing the winners for the $50 Givaways on their blogs today.

Starting today Vicki, Heidi (that's me!), Linda, Melissa, Michelle and Flo. will all be posting $50.00 Crafty Secrets Giveaways and you just need to leave a comment to be entered (and an email address in case you win).

Today is also Crafty Secrets Challenge Day and Vicki Chrisman our Design Team Coordinator gave us a challenge to create a project using a photo in honor of National Scrapbooking Day. We could make a card, layout or an altered item as long as it has a photo. For my project I decided to create an 8 x 8 layout. I have had this picture of my two great uncles for awhile and thought it would be great for a layout but I wasn't too sure what to do with it. BUT then Sandy, owner of Crafty Secrets came out with this NEW Car Classics Stamp Set and I knew it would be a perfect match! I started with a white piece of cardstock and randomly stamped images from the Car Classics stamp set around the outer edges using Vintage Photo ink and then I inked the edges. I think I used almost every stamp in the set to create the background.Next I applied Caribbean Blue and Crushed Shells Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. After applying the Glimmer Mist I placed a Kleenex on top of the cardstock and used a brayer to pick up the excess Glimmer Mist. After I had the background done then I made a border using a piece of paper from the Radiant Paper Pad from Crafty Secrets and the word block stamp the is included in the Car Classic Stamp Set to create the border. I also distressed and inked the edges with Chestnut Roan ink. Here is a close-up of the border.I stamped the car image from Car Classics onto white cardstock and colored with Copic markers and then I used 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™ to add some dimension to the car. These are the Copic markers used to color the car image. For an embellishment I added this Word Key from Tim Holtz and I also added a few brown vintage buttons.
Supplies~
Stamps~Crafty Secrets-Car Classics
Paper~Crafty Secrets-Radiant Paper Pad; The Paper Company-White, Brown
Ink~Tsukineko-Memento Rich Cocoa; Ranger-Distress Ink Vintage Photo; ClearSnap-Chestnut Roan
Other~Tattered Angels-Caribbean Blue, Crushed Shells Glimmer Mist; Copic Markers-B00, B02, C1, T5; Tim Holtz-Word Key; SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™-Crafty Power Tape 81', 3D Foam Squares; Stampin' Up-Distress Tool; My Stash-Vintage Buttons, Brayer, Kleenex

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you get to have some creative time for yourself and enjoy National Scrapbooking Day!!

Don't forget about the $50 Giveaways on some of the Design Team Members Blogs today (Vicki, Heidi (that's me!), Linda, Melissa, Michelle and Flo) and here is a link list to all of the Crafty Secrets Designers. Don't forget to leave a comment and an email email address in case you win!! I will have the Giveaway open from now until May 4th and I will announce the Winner on May 5th. Good Luck!!

I also wanted to say a very warm Welcome to Deborah March she is our Newest Design Team Member and also a warm Welcome and Congrats to Sherry Cheever, she is the Crafty Secrets Guest Designer for May!! Welcome Ladies!!
