The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Give Thanks Distress Oxide Inks Smooshing Technique and Tutorial

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  This was the last full week before school starts back up and gosh it seems like it just flew by.  Actually the summer seems like it went by really fast.  Our youngest is going to be a Junior this year---they grow up so fast!!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a card to share with you using the ink smooshing technique with Distress Oxide Inks.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  I used two of the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps set Give Thanks SS-009 and Harvest SS-010 for my card.

To start, I smooshed the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Fired BrickPeeled PaintSpiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo onto the Ranger Craft Mat.  Then I used the Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer to add water to the inks.  Next, I took a piece of Ranger Watercolor paper and smooshed it into the ink.  I used a heat tool to dry and heat set the inks.  I repeated the process until I achieved a look I liked.

Here is a look at the paper once all of the color was added.

Next, I wanted to heat emboss so I prepped the paper with the EK Success Powder Tool.  Then, I randomly stamped the leaf images from both of the stamp sets using VersaMark Ink.  I added Ranger Super Fine Detailed Gold Embossing Powder and used a heat tool to melt and heat set the powder.

I wanted to fade the background so the leaves would be the main focus of the card.  I took a paint brush and water and added water to the background and then used a paper towel to blot up the water.  Doing this removed some of the color.  I worked in small areas and repeated the process 2-3 times until I like the look of the background.

Here is a look at the paper after removing some of the background color.  The leaves are a little darker in color and you could stop here if you wanted to.  But I knew if I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the leaves it would pull the color forward and really make the colors in the leaves pop.

It's amazing what some glossy accents can do!  I love how these leaves look!

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Give Thanks SS-009 stamp set onto a strip of brown paper and then I added Foam Tape to the back.  The card base is a kraft A2 top folding card with a brown mat.

To finish off the card I added a few Prima Say It In Crystals Amber Moon.  The colors match perfectly and I love the added sparkle.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed today's card share and tutorial.  All of the supplies are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Much love, hugs, and blessings,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Coneflower Happy Birthday Watercolor and Stencil Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a small tutorial to share with you on how I created my card.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  It looks pretty simple but it does have a couple of techniques going on.  I wanted the flower to take center stage but I also wanted a soft background instead of just a white background.

The flower image is from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps Thank You For Caring Coneflower SS-019 stamp set.  I stamped and heat embossed the image on to a piece of Ranger Watercolor paper using  Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder - Clear.  Then I stamped the image onto a couple of post-it notes and fussy cut it out to create a mask.  Usually I like to use the Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper but I'm currently out of the masking paper.  The masking paper is so quick and easy to use.  I placed the mask on top of the stamped image.  Then I taped the stencil in place over the paper.  The stencil I used is the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Woodgrain.  As you can see the paper is larger then the stencil so I did have to re-position the stencil a couple of times and continue to add the ink.  For the stenciled background I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Hickory Smoke and Pumice Stone along with the Mini Ink Blending Tools to add the ink.

After the stenciling was done I removed the mask.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Squeezed LemonadeFossilized AmberCarved PumpkinTwisted CitronMowed Lawn and Walnut Stain to watercolor the flower image.

Once all of the watercolor was done then I added Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the flower image.  Here is a close up so you can see some of the sparkle.

Here is a close up of the finished card.  I also decided to add a layer of Ranger Glossy Accents to the flower.

To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps All Occasion Sentiments SET 1 SS-030 with VersaMark Ink onto black cardstock and then heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder - White.  I trimmed the black cardstock down and added some May Arts Gold Metallic String.  I also added some May Arts Ribbon Sampler - Delicate Vintage Lace and a few Simple Stories So Fancy Enamel Dots.  The card base is a black A2 top folding card.

Thank so much for joining me today!  I hope you enjoyed today's card share and tutorial.  All of the supplies used to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Much love, hugs, and blessings,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Wishing You All The Best Card

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!  I hope you have all been having a wonderful week.  I am excited for this weekend--it's going to be in the 70s here.  :)  I had the windows open the other day and the nice warm fresh air felt so good.  Today, I have a card to share with you using another new stamp set from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store April Release.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  I used one of the sentiments from the All Occasion Sentiments Set 1 SS-030 stamp set.  Did you know there are now 30 wonderful stamp sets in the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps Collection?  All of the holidays and special occasions are covered and the stamp sets are filled with so many beautiful sentiments and Scriptures.  For my card I used some really pretty papers and die cuts from the  Kasiercraft - Miss Betty 6-1/2'' Paper Pad and Miss Betty Collectibles Die Cuts.  I love this collection!

I wanted to heat emboss the sentiment so I prepped the paper with the EK Success Powder Tool.  Then, I stamped the sentiment using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform and VersaMark ink on to one of the die cuts.  I added Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder and used a heat tool to melt and heat set the powder.  Next, I used a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool along with the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink - Antique Linen and very lightly inked the edges of the die cut piece and the pattern paper.

Then, I lightly inked the edges of the flowers and butterfly die cuts using the Delicata - Golden Glitz ink.  I love the hint of golden shimmer this ink leaves on the paper.

I used the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to color in the rose image on the die cut.

Once I had all of the inking and shimmer added then it was time to assemble the card and it came together really quick.  I layered the couple pieces of pattern paper and then added the rose card die cut to the center.  I used Foam Tape to adhere all of the die cuts and add some dimension to the card.

The gold embossing and soft pink are so pretty on this card.

Here you can see some of the shimmer from the gold ink.

Everything was adhered to a ivory A2 top folding card base.  Then, for one last little bit of sparkle and to finish off the card I added a few Prima Say It In Crystals Heaven Sent.  These crystals are gorgeous and full of sparkle!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  All of the supplies are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  To see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Love, hugs, and blessings,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Farmhouse Signage Collection - Choose Joy Card

Good morning and happy Friday!  Today, I have a card to share with you using a couple of the NEW releases from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Farmhouse Signage Collection.  I love the decorating style and all of the home decor with the Farmhouse style so I was really excited to see this collection.  This style always seems so fresh and clean to me with a very slight vintage feel at times.

Here is the card I designed using the  Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Farmhouse Simple Sentiments SS-024 and Farmhouse Signage SS-027.  The sentiments are fantastic in the new sets and I love the font.  I used a few different sheets of pattern paper from the  Kaisercraft - Sea Breeze collection.

I used a piece of the paper that has the look of white washed boards to stamp the sentiment on.  To make sure I had perfect placement I used the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to stamp the sentiment.  I used Espresso Truffle ink.

I used the largest heart die from the Farmhouse Pierced Nested Hearts SS-DIE013 die set to cut the heart shape. Then I stamped the little leafy twigs using  Altenew Sea Shore (4 pack) - Lagoon ink.  To finish off the heart I inked the outer edges with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink - Vintage Photo.  To get the nice smooth blend I used one of the  Mini Ink Blending Tools and the Craft Mat .

Here is a look at how I laid out the pattern papers for the card front.  I also added some fig beige seam binding around the middle of the card.

Here is a close up of the heart and sentiment.  I also used a piece of the pattern paper and one of the dies from the Farmhouse Signage SS-DIE012 set to die cut the arrow and added it above the sentiment.  I added a few  Melissa Frances White Pearls for embellishments.

Here is a close up of the bow and I added one of the Petaloo Botanica Collection Teal Minis to the center of the bow.

Here is another look at the finished card.  I used a white A2 top folding card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed the card share.  All of the supplies to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you would like to see more card inspiration using the New releases I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Born to be a STAR Shaker Card - Quick & Easy!

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  I can't believe we are already almost half way through January.  I know Spring is still way off but I am wishing for warmer weather lol.  Yesterday here in Minnesota it was in the 40's and as I type up this blog post it is -30 (yes that is a minus sign!) with the windchill!  Oh it's so darn cold lol.

Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store but before I get to my post I want to apologize for not posting the winner for the Seasons Giving blog hop.  I have had some personal things going on and I honestly just forgot.  But stop back a little later today and I will be posting the winner for the $30 Simon Says Stamp Gift Card.

Ok, let's get on to the card.  :)

For today's card I used some of the fun pattern papers from the Graphic 45 - Vintage Hollywood collection.  I used one of the cut outs to create a quick and easy shaker card.  This card really came together in less then 10 minutes.  I love shaker card but sometimes I just don't have the time to create them.  So I started looking at the cut outs in the paper collection and a few other collections.  I think you would be surprised at how many of the cut out have areas that can be cut out with a craft knife to create quick and easy shaker cards.

To start I used a craft knife to fussy cut the center of the star.  If you are careful enough when cutting out pieces you can save them to use as embellishments on your card.  Now to create the shaker all I had to do was add a piece of Acetate to the back of the cut out and then add  Foam Tape around the outer edges.  Fill with sequins and add cardstock to the back.  I cut a piece of black cardstock that was a litter larger to give the cut out a background layer.

Before I assembled the card I wanted to add a little sparkle.  I used the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to add some sparkle to the large stars on the background paper, the smaller cut out star and the word star on the shaker.

Here is a close up of the shaker.  I filled it with 5mm Black Sequins and Tiny Silver Star Sequins.  I added the cut out star to the top right corner and put a piece of foam tape behind it to pop it up a bit.  I also added a few of the tiny star sequins to the outside of the card.

I used kraft paper to create a A2 top folding card base.  The next time you want to create a shaker card I encourage you to look through the cut outs in your paper collections and see what areas could be cut out to create a little window for a shaker card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card share!

If you would like to see more card inspiration please hop on over to the Stamp Simply Blog and check out all of the beautiful card samples from the design team.  All of the supplies used to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at

Don't forget to stop back to find out who the winner is for the Seasons Giving blog hop.  :)

Hope you have a wonderful day!
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Poinsettia Tea Cup Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today, I have a card to share with you using the NEW Stamp Simply Clear Stamp - Coffee or Tea? SS-023.  You might have seen a sneak peek of this card on the Stamp Simply Blog when Sharon announced the new releases.

Here is the card I designed.  This card could be used for Christmas or just as a thinking of you card through the winter months.  The stamp set is filled with several sentiments and verses.  The die set is a really fun one because it allows you to be able to build you cup.  There are two different sizes of the cups with matching handles, two little steam swirls, the words coffee and tea, and a tiny tag.  Some of the sentiments in the stamp set fit perfectly with the tiny tag.

To create the cup I die cut the cup two times.  Once using Wild Rose Studios - Birds & Berries and for the second one I used Gold Mirror Cardstock.  I also die cut the handle with the gold mirror cardstock.

I have a beautiful tea cup collection that was my Great Grandma's.  Several of the cups are edged in gold and I wanted to create the same look for my cup.  I cut the top and bottom of the gold die cut piece and then offset them and adhered them to the back of the pattern paper.

Here is a look at the cup once it was assembled.  I just love the gold accents and it reminds me of my Great Grandma's tea cup collection.

I die cut three of the little steam swirls from Vellum.  I adhered two to the back of the cup and then added the third swirl at the top.  I used glossy accents to adhere the steam swirls.  Since almost all adhesives show through vellum I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on top of the swirls and then added White Pearls to each of them to help cover up where the adhesive was showing.

Here is a close up of the cup.  I also added some of the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the flowers on the pattern paper.  I added more white pearls along the top of the cup.  I die cut one of the tiny tags using white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Ink.  I used a piece of May Arts Gold Metallic String to attach the tag to the handle on the cup.

The card is a white A2 top folding card base.  I used a couple more pieces of the pattern paper from the same collection to layer in the background.  Then I used Foam Tape to attach the cup to the front of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed the card share.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.  All of the supplies to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy Holidays!

Heidi
