Really Reasonable Ribbon November Blog Hop

Good morning blogging friends!  Today, is the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop for the month of November.  The RRR Design Team Members and Special Events Design Team Members will be showcasing the Monthly Ribbon Club

This month there is a wonderful assortment of Deep Reds and Charcoal Gray ribbons included in the November Ribbon Club.   I love this color combination!  Click HERE for more details.

If you are following the order of the blog hop you should have just come from Judy's Blog. If not and you just happened to pop in for a visit please click HERE to start the blog hop at the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings! Blog.

For my project I designed a Christmas card using two of the ribbons from the November Monthly Ribbon Club.

I made a few bow and adhered them on top of each other to create a layered bow.

I used hot glue to adhere the bows and positioned them at different angles to create a full bow.

Here is a close up of the bow.

All of the solid colored cardstock is from DiscountCardstock.com and the pattern paper is from the Simple Stories Handmade Christmas 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  I used S5-131 A2 Matting Basics AS5-132 A2 Matting Basics BS5-121 Frosty FormsS4-161 Labels OneS4-379 Decorative Labels One die templates from Spellbinders to cut/emboss all of the die cut shapes.  To embellish the card I added a Holly Leaf from Petaloo with 10 mm Red Bling from Shabby Scraps.  I also added a few pearls from Recollections and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L  to add some dimension.

Now to continue in the blog hop you need to hop on over to Vivian's Blog and check out her fantastic project!

Vintage Style Christmas Cards

Hello blogging friends!  Before I get to my project for today I wanted to let all of you know that for some time now I have been trying to figure out the best way to monitor comments and try to avoid spammers.  I have had the word verification on my blog for a long time and I know a lot of people have a hard time with word verification and it can be really hard to read it sometimes.  In the past I have tried taking it off but then I just get hit with so much spam.   But since I have received several emails regard the word verification I am going to be taking it off and switching over to comment moderation.  All that means is that when a comment is made it will be emailed to me first before it is posted and then I will be able to post or mark is as spam.  So your comments won't show up here on the blog until I check my email and approve them.  I know a lot of bloggers have been discussing this and trying to find a better solution.  I hope this will help and make things easier for leaving comments.  As always thanks so much for subscribing and following my blog and all of your support!!

Today, is my post day over at Vintage Street Market Blog.
Now that Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is right around the corner it's time to start working on Christmas cards.

I know I always love it when I can come up with a couple of card designs that are quick and easy to make and today I have two Christmas cards to share with you that fall into the quick and easy category.  I used Really Red cardstock for the base of the card and the pattern paper is from Jenni Bowlin Christmas Mini Pattern Sheet.  I love this paper because each pattern is a 4 x 4 square and the sheet have enough squares to make nine of these little cards.

To see more pictures and find out all of the details please click HERE to visit the
Vintage Street Market Blog.  I hope this inspires you to make some quick and easy Christmas cards.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Blog for a complete list of the blog hop.

For my project I altered a journal using Pink Satin w/ Scalloed Edge ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and SC0038 Blooming Memories Stamp Set (Page 50 2012 eCatalog) from Hampton Arts.  I also used some inks from Hampton Arts, die templates from  Spellbinders and paper from Discount Cardstock.

To start I die cut a fancy label shape using S5-148 Decorative Labels Eight and Simply Smooth White cardstock.  Then I stamped the floral branch, bird image and sentiment using Color Box Chalk Ink Pink, Olive Pastel, Blue Lagoon, Black.  For the pink cardstock mat I used S5-131 A2 Matting Basics A die template.  I layered the paper pieces using 3D Foam Squares and then glued the Pink Satin w/ Scalloed Edge ribbon to the backside and attached the piece to the front of the journal.

To add multiple colors of ink to a solid image I use Q-tips to apply the ink.  Here is a picture of the humming bird.

When I was attaching the ribbon to the paper I cut the strips of ribbon a little longer and then I cut in from each end towards the corner to create nice crisp corners on the ribbon.  I added a little bit of hot glue to the backside to hold the ribbons in place.

I stamped the ribbon from the KN2456 Think Pink Stamp and fussy cut it and added 3D Foam Squares to pop it up.  I added Pearls from The Rubber Cafe' to the flower centers.

I created a little ribbon and flower cluster down in the bottom corner.  I used the same Pink Satin w/ Scalloed Edge ribbon and then I added a Pink Acrylic Flower from Shabby Scraps and a couple of Pink/White Roses from I am Roses.  The Lg Flat Back Pearl for the flower center is from Beady Bom Bom. Then I added some leaves and diamond stickles.  To create the leaves I used S5-129 Foliage Two die template from Spellbinders.

I took a piece of the Pink Satin w/ Scalloed Edge and added three Round Acrylic Ribbon Buckles and then I glued this to the spine of the journal.

Once I had the ribbon glued in place then I added Lg Flat Back Pearls to the center of each buckle.

Now to continue in the blog hop you need to hop on over to Wendy's Blog and check out her fantastic project!

JustRite Papercraft - Amazing Paper Grace October 2012 Kit by Becca Feeken - Day 2

Hello!  Today, I have another project to share with you using the NEW Amazing Paper Grace October 2012 Kit by Becca Feeken from JustRite Papercraft.  The kit includes everything you need to recreate Becca's beautiful designs and it also includes AG-03910 Its Sew Vintage stamp set and AG-03915 Vintage Frame Label & Spool Topper die template set.  Click HERE to find out all of the details.

Here is the card that I designed using the stamps and die templates from Becca's October 2012 Kit.  I used Sno Cone paper from  Discount Cardstock for the base of the card and all of the pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing Lavender Collection.

I used the largest label in the die set to cut/emboss this shape.  Then I stamped the flourish designs and the word LACE and inked the edges of the paper.  I added tiny metal hangers with pieces of vintage lace trims.  The hangers were originally silver and I added Ranger Snow Cap Paint Dabber, Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Distress Inks to give then a shabby chic look and then attached them with brads.

I added a little cluster of buttons to the top of the card with a little touch of shabby chic bling.  At the moment I am out of pearl swirl bling so I added paint and inks to the top of the clear rhinestone bling for a little different look.  I also used the stamps and die templates to create the little spool toppers.  Along the right side of the card I created a border using one of the stamps, seam binding and pattern paper.  To finish off the card I added an aqua seam binding bow and a memo pin with some beads added to it and one of the spool toppers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Please be sure to visit all of the JustRite Papercraft Designers in the link list below and see what they have to share with you.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

JustRite Papercraft September New Release - Vintage Love Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today I have a New Release from JustRite Papercraft to share with you.

The newest release is CR-03905 Lace Medallions, a beautiful lacy stamp set which includes two large medallions, two small medallions, a border, six accents and four sentiments.  This stamp set also coordinates with JustRite Custom Dies JB-10025 Nested Oval Medallion Label Dies, JB-10020 Nested Medallion Label Dies and Spellbinders E8-007 Classic Edges One.

Here is the card that I designed using the CR-03905 Lace Medallions.  I used one of  the lacy accent stamps along with Angel Pink and Desert Sand ink to create the background paper for my card.

I stamped the sentiment on to Simply Smooth Ivory paper from Discount Cardstock using Rich Cocoa ink.  Then I used JustRite Papercraft Custom Dies JB-03775 Antique Tags One Dies to create the tag shape.  I inked the edges of the tag with Desert Sand and Rich Cocoa ink.  Next I created a little flower cluster of roses and leaves using Pink Lemonade and Pine papers and S5-086 Bitty Blossoms, S5-129 Foliage Two die templates from Spellbinders.  I also added a beautiful cameo from Shabby Scraps and the ribbon and trims are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I used several of the lace, ribbon and trim from the May Arts Ribbon Sampler Vintage Pink.

Here is a close up of the cameo.  I added a little lace behind the Cameo and then added a Antique Bronze Blank Cameo Charm.  I used the Distrezz-it-All to distress the edges of the paper and then I added a few pearls.

Here is a close up of the stamped background and the beautiful ribbons.

Please be sure to visit each of the JustRite Papercrat Designers in the link list below to see what they have designed using the CR-03905 Lace Medallions stamp set.

Vintage Inspired Aqua Jewel Flower Necklace

One of my favorite go to die template sets is the Jewel Flowers and Flourishes from Julianna's Positively Me Collection from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts.  I love all of the pieces in the set from the flowers to the leaves and swirls and the sweet little butterflies.  I used one of the flower die templates from the set to create a layered flower and I added it to a necklace I designed.

Here is the necklace I designed.  Using the foil, beads, pearls and antique bronze gives the necklace a vintage look.

I used the Grand Calibur® Machine and S5-143 Jewel Flowers and Flourishes die templates from Spellbinders™ Paper Arts and Aqua Delicate Pastels Premium Craft Foils to create the layered flower.

To see more pictures and find out all of the details on how I designed this vintage inspired necklace please visit Julianna's Blog Positively Me and check out my blog post.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful and creative week!

Heidi
