New Oceans - 3D M-Bossabilites Folder-Inks-Glitter & Glue Tutorial

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a tutorial to share with you using some of my favorite products--Scrap Happy Sheer GlueImagine Crafts/Tsukineko inks and  3D M-Bossabilities.

Here is the card that I designed using the new E3D-001 Shell Beauty 3D M-Bossabilities folder from Spellbinders Creative Arts™.  The background has several layers of inks, gesso, glue and glitter and I am so happy with how it turned out.

I started out by added a few different colors of ink directly on to the folder using Inkblushers applicators.  I used Versa Magic Aloe VeraTurquoise GemWheat and Sahara Sand inks to cover the entire folder.

Next I used the Grand Calibur® Machine and a piece of Simply Smooth Ivory with the inked up folder to emboss the image.  Once I removed the paper from the folder I added a little more ink to highlight some of the embossed areas.

Then to soften the colors and add another element of texture I dry brushed gesso over the entire piece.

Once the gesso was dry (it only takes a couple of minutes to dry) then I used a makeup sponge to lightly apply Scrap Happy Sheer Glue from The Rubber Cafe around the outer edges and worked my way in towards the center but I didn't cover the entire piece.

Next comes the fun part!  One of the things I love about the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue is that even once the glue is dry it still remains tacky and it works perfectly for a light application of glitter.  Before I added the glitter I sprinkled some Stampendous Gilded Mica Fragments and then I added the You're So Fine Glitter Diamond Clear Cool Highlights.  The You're So Fine Glitter is an ultra light glitter and it is very easy to work with--just rub it in with your fingers--easy peasy!  Look at all the glittery goodness!

Once I had the background done then I started to assemble the card.  I used Frosted Teal and Kraft paper from DiscountCardstock.comS6-001 5 x 7 Matting Basics A and S6-002
5 x 7 Matting Basics B die templates from Spellbinders.  I used  F-648 New Oceans stamp from The Rubber Cafe for the sentiment and I fussy cut it in to blocks, inked the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa and then I added 3D Foam Squares for a little dimension.

Towards the bottom I added 1.5 Champagne Netting from Really Reasonable Ribbon and then I filled MB2-001 Circles One-Bronze (Bezel) with some Scrap Happy Sheer Glue, shells, You're So Fine Glitter Diamond Clear Cool Highlights and  Pearl Jellie Dots.  I tied True Hemp 4mm Hemp Twisted Rope on to the ends of the bezel, tied the ends and glued the rope in place.

I had a lot of creative fun making this card and I hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Violets Card - Graphic 45 Secret Garden

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a card to share with you using some of the beautiful Secret Garden pattern paper from Graphic 45.  I think I love all of the papers in this collection!  The colors are so soft and pretty and puts me in the mood for Springtime.

Violets are one of my favorite blooming plants and I love the color combination of the lavender and green.  I used Frosted Amethyst cardstock for the base and matted it with a piece of Herbal Green cardstock.  The solid cardstock is from DiscountCradstock.com. For the Herbal Green and the Secret Garden pattern paper I used S5-131 A2 Matting Basics AS5-132 A2 Matting Basics B die templates from  Spellbinders.

I fussy cut the image of the violet seed packet and then I die cut a piece of Herbal Garden using S5-156 Labels Twenty-Nine.  I used 3D Foam Squares in between the layers to add some dimension.  I also added some 1.5 Lavender Netting and Lavender Wrinkled Ribbon 1/2'' from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I added some purple flowers, Jumbo Leaves Moss Green, pearls and a handmade stickpin.  The Jumbo Leaves are from Really Reasonable Ribbon and come on a piece of trim.  I cut the leaves from the trim and tucked them in behind the flowers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Whenever I am With You Butterfly Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a card to share with you using some of the beautiful new paper from KaiserCraft 6 1/2" Paper Pad Secret Admirer.  I just love this paper pad!

I also used some of the new die templates from the 5 x 7 Card Creators Collection from Spellbinders.  For the base of the card I used Simply Smooth White and for the next layer I used Aqua Ice Dust cardstock along with the S6-001 5x7 Matting Basics A die template.  I used Bubble Gum cardstock with S6-003 5x7 Enchanted Labels Twenty-Eight and KaiserCraft 6 1/2" Paper Pad Secret Admirer with S5-127 Labels Twenty-Eight die templates to create the next two layers.  I love the detail in the S6-003 5x7 Enchanted Labels Twenty-Eight--I think it's one of my favorite new dies!

For the sentiment I used a stamp from the SW-04420 For All You Do Vintage Labels Three stamp set from
JustRite Papercraft.  I stamped the sentiment using Memento Espresso Truffle ink from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.  To create the tag I used the  S5-177 A2 Filigree Delight die template and I left the paper in the die and used it as a stencil to ink the inside edges with Angel Pink ink.  I used 3D Foam Squares from
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to add some dimension to the tag and then I added the pearls, bling and flowers around the tag.

I used two of the MB6-008 Butterflies One  blanks from the Media Mixáge Collections from Spellbinders and layered them in between a piece of Silky Crush Rose Ribbon to create a beautiful embellishment on the front of my card.  The new blanks are so fun and easy to work with!  To do this I added the larger butterfly to the ribbon first and then I gathered the ribbon in the center, tied it with the Metallic Gold String and then added the smaller butterfly on top.  Before I added the smaller butterfly I took a pliers and slightly bent the butterfly wings up.  Doing this just adds another element of dimension.  I love using the Metallic Gold String on my projects because it adds a hint of shimmer.  It's also great to use for adding beads and charms to your projects. I added some pearls to the body of the butterfly and then a bling swirl at the bottom.

To finish off the card I added Pssst! Sheer Shimmer Spritz Sparkle to the entire card front and then I added a few more pearls in the corners.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Proud Mom Moment and a Card Share

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a proud mom moment and a quick card to share with you.

Our youngest son received The Arrow of Light Award and crossed over from a Cub Scout to a Boy Scout!!  We are SO proud of him!!  The pack had a wonderful Blue and Gold Banquet with a potluck, songs and skits by the boys and then the crossing over ceremony.
A Huge Thank You to the Pack Leader and Den Leaders!!

I had to make a sympathy card for one of my husbands co-workers a couple of days ago.  I know most of us don't like making sympathy cards but most of the time when I am making them I tend to used softer colors.  I love how the image of the roses can be colored in so lightly to use as a background image and then stamp the sentiment on top.  The stamps are from JustRite Papercraft and the ink is Memento.  All of the coloring was done with Copic Markers and the die cuts were made using Spellbinders die templates.  All of the information is listed below with links.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Spellbinders Media Mixáge and Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko StazOn Inks Tutorial

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a tutorial to share with you on how I altered one of the new bird blanks from Spellbinders Media Mixáge Collection using StazOn Inks from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.

I had originally planned to post this tutorial last week but a few things came up and I had to change some plans.  So I am sorry it's going up a little late!

To start I used Jet Black StazOn Ink to stamp the floral image on to MB6-011 Birds One (blank).  The stamped image is from the CR-03850 Just Because Vintage Labels stamp set from JustRite Papercraft.

Next I applied a layer of GlazOn to the blank.  Using the GlazOn allows you to use multiple colors and layers of ink without the colors blending and getting muddy.  Each time a layer of GlazOn is applied it seals the layer of ink and then once the GlazOn is dry another layer of ink can be applied.

These are the tools I used to apply the inks and GlazOn.  I used the Brushstix to apply ink on the stamped image and then I used the StazOn All-Purpose Cleaner to clean the tip in between colors of ink.  The Inkblushers were used to apply the GlazOn and the larger amounts of ink on the top and bottom of the bird blank--the blue and green colors.

To color the floral image I used Vibrant Violet, Royal Purple, Midnight Blue, Olive Green StazOn Inks.

Here is a close up of the bird blank.  Be sure to add a layer of GlazOn in between each layer of ink.

Here is a close up after all of the inking was done.  I used Inkblushers to apply the Midnight Blue and Olive Green StazOn Inks to the top and bottom of the blank.  Then I added another layer of the GlazOn to seal the entire piece.  I just love how this turned out and it was really easy to alter the bird blank.  To finish off the bird blank I also added a couple pieces of bling which you can see in the picture of the finished project.

Once the bird blank was done I added it to a bookmark for an embellishment.  If you missed the post you can click HERE to see it.

Just as a reminder you can click on all of the images to enlarge them if you would like to see more details.

I hope you enjoyed the StazOn Ink tutorial!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a creative day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Be Mine Valentine

EDIT**Sorry, I'm not sure what happened with this post.  It was supposed to go live on Valentine's Day and I just realized it didn't post.

Happy Valentine's Day!!  Today, I have a Valentine to share with you using some of the die templates from Julianna's Positively Me Collection, Artistic Wire and a little bit of glitter over on the Positively Me Blog.

I made this card for my husband and I wanted it to have a little sparkle but not over the top.  Sometimes creating masculine cards can be a little hard, especially for Valentine's Day.  I thought the red, white and black color combination would be good.

To find out all of the details, see more pictures and a step-by-step tutorial please click HERE to visit the Positively Me Blog.

I hope you have a very Happy Valentine's Day with your special someone!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Really Reasonable Ribbon Febuary Blog Hop

Good morning blogging friends!  Today, is the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop for the month of January.  The RRR Design Team Members and Special Events Design Team Members will be showcasing the Monthly Ribbon Club

This month there is a beautiful assortment of Pastel ribbons included in the February Ribbon Club.   This is such a pretty combination for Spring and Easter cards.  Click HERE for more details on how you can sign up for the Monthly Ribbon Club.

If you are following the order of the blog hop you should have just come from Judy's Blog. If not and you just happened to pop in for a visit please click HERE to start the blog hop at the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings! Blog.

For my project I used some of the ribbons from the Febuary Ribbon of the Month Club to design a ribbon bookmark and matching card.

To start I cut about 10 inches of both of the ribbons and then layered and glued the ribbons together usinf Fabri-Tac. This adhesive is great for a project like this because it is permanent but it doesn't make the ribbon stiff and it dries clear.

Next I added two clasps to the ribbon ends and used E6000 adhesive for a little extra hold.

Then I stamped and inked a MB6-011 Birds One blank using StazOn inks and a flower image from CR-03850 Just Because Vintage Labels stamp set.  I will have a step-by-step tutorial on February 15th to show you how I used the inks to decorate the bird blank.  I also added some beads and a charm.

For the matching card I used cardstock from DiscountCardstock.com and all of the inks are from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko.  For the sentiment I used SW-04420 For All You Do Vintage Labels Three stamp set from JustRite Papercraft and S4-392 Framed Tags One die template from Spellbinders.  To create the embossed background I used ES-011 Dotted Flowers M-Bossabilities Folder.

I made a ribbon border in the center of the card using two of the ribbon and one of the crochet trims from the Febuary Ribbon of the Month Club.

The bookmark and card were both quick and easy projects and they would make a nice little gift.  Also making bookmarks with ribbon is a great way to use up some of your longer scrap pieces.

Now to continue in the blog hop you need to hop on over to Vivian's Blog and check out her fantastic project!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the Really Reasonable Blog Hop!! Don't forget to visit the RRR Store and check out all of the beautiful ribbons, lace and trims!
I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Valentine Heart Bezel Card With Bonus Key Ring

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have another Valentine card to share with you and it has an added bonus.

This is the card that I designed using papers from DiscountCardstock.com and beautiful die templates from Spellbinders Creative Arts™.  I used the New S6-005 5 x 7 Elegant Labels Four die template that is part of the Card Creator collection.  I also used S5-158 Timeless Rectangles die template and MB2-006 Hearts Two Bronze bezel from the New Media Mixáge collection.

For the bezel I sprinkled in some dark pink glitter and then I added ICE Resin® and set the piece aside for about 8 hours to let the resin set up and harden.  Next I added the rhinestone chain around the outer edge of the heart and added the heart locket charm to the center of the resin heart.  Then I added a jump ring and a key charm on the bottom.  I think this makes a beautiful embellishment for the card but I wanted to be able to remove the bezel and added it to a key clip creating a key chain for the extra bonus.  So I used a piece of Texture Two-Tone Fuchsia/Pink ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and tied it around two of the die cuts and then added the bezel.  I didn't want to have a fancy bow, just something that would be easy to re-tie so the card would still be pretty even after the bezel was removed.  I added a small baggie to the back of the card with a key ring.

I stamped a hidden sentiment under the bezel using CR-04325 Antique Valentine Tags One stamp set from JustRite Papercraft.  Once the bezel is removed you will be able to see the sentiment and the card won't be left with a blank space.

I also added some pink Recollections bling, pink roses and dark pink rose buds from I am Roses and a couple of white/pink porcelain roses.

I added 3D Foam Squares  from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L in between the label layers to add more dimension to the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

I hope you have a Fantastic Day!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
