B'sue Boutique Creative Group on Facebook - Work Table Wednesday & Finished Up Friday

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have something a little different to share with you.  Awhile back I was looking around on YouTube and I happened to come across a YT channel with fantastic videos all about jewelry--from coloring metals to assemblage.  As a lot of you know I have been making jewelry for several years, probably close to twenty years now.  I started out making earrings and made brooches with Friendly Plastic and then I moved on to Clay.  I can remember some of the first clay pieces I made I wanted certain colors that weren't even available at that time so I was painting the clay jewelry with fingernail polish LOL!  So I have dabbled in several things over the years.  Even though I don't post a ton of jewelry here on my blog I love to make jewelry.  I am pretty much self taught.  I have only taken one beading class and for the most part I make what I like or what looks good to me.  So I was thrilled to find B'sue Boutiques on YT.  The videos are amazing and they are like a private little class right in the comfort of your own home.  You could even watch the videos in your PJ's if you want LOL!  Not only are the videos great and filled with so much information but Brenda Sue is so funny too!  She is amazingly talented and so willing to share what she knows with jewelry design and she keeps it real--gotta love that!  I found out that B'sue Boutiques has a wonderful Facebook group--B'sue Boutiques Creative Group.  It's a closed group so you have to request an invite.  The group is FILLED with talent that is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!  Everyone is so very talented and the best part they are all so nice and helpful.  You can click HERE for a link to the FB Group and click HERE for the Online Store and one more--click HERE for the YT Channel. 

A couple of weeks ago some of the ladies started a challenge in the FB group--Work Table Wednesday--Finished Up Friday.  So here is the deal on Wednesday you take a picture of what is on your work table or unfinished projects that you need to work on and you post the picture to the group.  Then you have from Wednesday to Friday to get your projects done.  When you have your projects done then you post pictures of your finished pieces to the group.  it is a great challenge to get you jump started and finishing up some projects.  PLUS everyone who finishes their projects gets put into a drawing for the online store--how cool is that!

So now that I have rambled on would you like to see what was on my Work Table Wednesday?

I don't have a very big work table so these haven't just been laying out on my table but I do have a container full of unfinished jewelry pieces.  This is a mix of several things--pieces from B'sue Boutiques, ButterBeeScraps, Spellbinders--A Gilded Life and Media Mixáge with ICE Resin, and some vintage keys.  Some of these pieces have only been done for a few days while others have been sitting around unfinished for several months.  This is just the challenge I need LOL!!

This piece here would be one that I started a few months ago.  

I have also had these tulip bead caps for several months!

So my goal was to finish up the filigree piece with the little bird and flowers and turn it into a necklace and I wanted to make earring with the tulip bead caps.

I had until Friday to complete the projects.

READY SET GO!!

Ok, jump ahead to Friday and WOW I actually finished both pieces!!  I was sliding in at the last minute but I finished them!!  :)

So here are a few pictures from my Finished Up Friday.

The little charm with the bird and flowers is from B'sue Boutiques.  The flower filigree pieces and the Spectra (pink) beads are also from B'sue.  The blue oval shape filigree, bronze ball headpins, chain, jump rings, and AB flat back crystals are all from Butterbeescraps. The white flat back pearls are from Em's Emporium.  Last but not least the pink crystal beads, white pearls, and clasp are from my stash.  Before assembling the filigree pieces and the bird charm I spray each piece with a flat white paint.  Then I painted the pieces with acrylic pain, buffed with steel wool and sealed them with Crystal Clear Krylon Semi-Gloss spray.  I used E6000 to assemble the pieces.  This is a technique that I learned from watching one of the B'sue Boutiques videos.  You can click HERE for the video.  I just changed it up a bit and used some different colors.

I have to say I LOVE how these earrings turned out!  For the earrings I used tulip bead caps and Spectra (aqua) beads from B'sue Boutiques.  The two bronze bead caps and bronze ball headpins are from Butterbeescraps. The clear crystal beads, frosted acrylic flower bead caps, bronze flower spacers, and french hooks are from my stash.  I used Patina Rub-n-Buff on the tulip bead caps and then I used steel wool to buff them until I achieved the look I wanted.

DYI Infinity Band Candle Holder

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a quick and easy DIY project to share with you using Julianna's Jewel Loom™ and it's sure to bring a little beauty to any room in your home.

I made an infinity band using the Jewel Loom™ and two hole Czech Glass Tile Beads in Light Purple and Pink Peacock with Vitrail finish.  Then I wrapped the band around a votive candle holder and glued in place.   Then I added some flower with a little sparkle of glitter, some tiny acrylic pearl flowers and purple crystals for the center.

Here is a close up of the band.  These beads are so pretty and they work perfectly for a project like this because they lay flat.  Did you know that Julianna recently opened an Etsy store?  Her store is filled will beautiful beads like this, wire, crystals, and the Jewel Loom kit -- it's even signed by Julianna!

Crystal Filigree Dragonfly Pins - ButterBeeScraps - Spellbinders

Hello everyone!  The weather is finally starting to warm up here in MN.  I can't wait until it's warm enough to plant some flowers and a garden.  But in the meantime I have been keeping busy making some fun Spring and Summer time jewelry which I will be sharing with you over the next couple of weeks.  Today, I have a couple dragonfly pins to share with you using some fun products from ButterBeeScraps and Spellbinders Paper Arts®. 

These are the two dragonfly pins I designed.  I used filigree pieces, crystals, rhinestone rondelle spacer beads, and bead caps from ButterBeeScraps and for the body of the dragonflies I used hatpins from Spellbinders Paper Arts®.

To start I added German Glass Glitter, Micro Beads and Glitter inside the bezel on the MB#-002 Oval Hatpin-Silver and then I filled it with Glossy Accents and set it aside to dry.  I used two different styles of the filigree pieces Silver Filigree Embellishment (Item #809-P) and Silver Filigree (currently out of stock) for the wings.  I cut the pieces in half and then I used E6000 to attach them to the back of the MB#-002 Oval Hatpin-Silver.  Next I added  SS12 Olivine Flat Back Glass Rhinestones , SS16 Olivine Flat Back Glass Rhinestones, and SS20 Olivine Flat Back Glass Rhinestones to the wings.  Then I added some Clear Rhinestone Rondelle Spacer Beads - 6mm (Item #BD006-P/CL) and some beads from my stash.  To finish the dragonfly I used a round nose pliers to create a loop at the end of the hatpin and then I added a pin back using E6000.

Here is a close up of the bezel.  I love all of the sparkle from the different glitters and micro beads!

Dragonfly #2

Here is the aqua blue dragonfly.  I have to tell you this one is my favorite!  I love the colors and the patina!!  I filled the bezels with glitters, micro beads and glossy accents just like the first one but using different colors.  For the wings I used Bronze Filigree Embellishment (Item #553-B).  I cut out parts from two filigree pieces and using E6000 to apply them to the MB#-002 Oval Hatpin-Bronze.  Then I used Patina Rub-N-Buff on the outside of the bezel and the wings.  Love, love, love how the Patina looks on the bronze filigree pieces!  Next I added some SS12 Aquamarine Flat Back Glass Rhinestones, and SS20 Aquamarine Flat Back Glass Rhinestones to the wings.  Then I added some beads, Clear Rhinestone Rondelle Spacer Beads - 6mm (Item #BD006-P/CL), and Bronze Filigree Bead Caps (Item #CAP052-B) to the bottom of the MB#-002 Oval Hatpin-Bronze.  Same as the first one I used a round nose pliers to create a loop and curve the hatpin.

So thrilled with how this one turned out!

Ok, now for my project.  

I created a bracelet using the NEW--A Gilded Life GLR-001 Relics A from Spellbinders.  I used some floral link chain for the base of the bracelet and then I added white and cream vintage buttons with jump rings from ButterBeeScraps, champagne colored pearls, and AB glass crystals.

I used mixed metals of bronze and silver with the jump rings and head pins.  I love the look of the mixed metals.  The Antique Bronze Toggle Clasp is from ButterBeeScraps.

Here you can see the before and after on the relics.  To give the relic pieces more of an aged look I added Antique White Rub'n Buff to each piece.  I think the Rub'n Buff brings out more of the details in the pieces.  I also added some SS12 Clear Flat Back Crystals from ButterBeeScraps to the larger piece.

I am so happy with how the bracelet turned out and I just love the vintage look and feel!

Earrings - ButterBeeScraps

Hello Blogging Friends!  It's that time of the year again with the holidays and CHA right around the corner.  I have been busy working on some Christmas presents, CHA artwork and catalog design work for a couple of companies.  So I have several things in the works but I just can't share them yet.  ;-)  But I will tell you this--you are going to LOVE the New Releases that will be coming up in the New Year!!

This past weekend I was busy making some jewelry and I made over 30 pairs of earrings.  Today, I am going to share some of the earrings with you.  All of the bead caps, jump rings and rhondell spacer beads and the large green beads are from ButterBeeScraps.  I have all of them listed and linked below.  If you have never visited ButterBeeScraps I hope you will hop on over there and check it out!  Monique, owner of ButterBeeScraps has so many beautiful metal filigree pieces, beads, bead caps, spacers, crystal and charms and her prices are fabulous!!  

Here are a couple collage pictures of the earrings.  All of the beads except for the large round beads pictured above are from my stash including--Jesse James Beads, Blue Moon Beads, Michael's, JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby.  I just absolutely love the filigree bead caps--they make the earrings look so elegant.

I love this aqua color with the silver.

ButterBeeScraps DT Butterfly Filigree Bracelet and Video

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a project to share with you for ButterBeeScraps Design Team.  I am pretty exited to share this with you--one because I love how it turned out and two because I made a YT video for the project too!  I designed a bracelet using some of the beautiful filigree pieces from ButterBeeScraps. The past few months I have been sharing some of my jewelry pieces here on the blog and I hope you are enjoying them and getting inspired.  I have received several emails from people with different questions about the jewelry pieces and also that they are happy to see me creating jewelry.  What most people don't know is that I have actually been designing jewelry for several years.  I have noticed that over the past year or so blogs seem to be changing and people are offering new and different things on the crafting blogs.  So I have been adding a few different things such as jewelry, mixed media and home decor.  Don't worry, I am not leaving papercrafting behind--I Love papercrating!  I will still continue to share all kinds of papercrafting things here on my blog but I am going to throw a few new things in here and there and I hope you enjoy them.  ;-)

Here is the butterfly bracelet I designed using filigree pieces from ButterBeeScraps.

Here is a picture showing the before and after of the metal filigree pieces.  I used Antique White and Patina Rub'n Buff to add some color to the pieces.  I used Copper Filigree Embellishment (Item #553-C), Bronze Filigree Butterfly Embellishment (Item #887) and Silver Butterfly Filigree-currently not available but many other butterflies in the store to choose from.  I used a mix of copper, silver and bronze.  Mixing the metals is the trend right now and I have to say I love the look!  Before assembling the bracelet I applied Krylon Crystal Clear Satin to all of the filigree pieces.

I used G-S Hypo Cement and E6000 to bring all of the pieces together.  I did the bracelet in layers and holding the pieces together with little clamps until the adhesive was dry and set.

Here is a close up of the dangle and the butterfly charm.  I used Rhinestone Rondelle Spacer Beads (Item #BD010-P/CL) with some beads from my stash and a Bronze Miniature Butterfly Charms.  I also added some Antique White Rub'n Buff to the charm.

Here is a close up of the toggle.  I used Copper Toggle Clasps (Item #CL081-C) and I added some Patina Rub'n Buff.   The toggle is on the side--this makes it so much easier to put the bracelet on and the toggle is too pretty to hide.  I also used Silver Jump Rings.

I used some silver chain from my stash for the bottom part of the bracelet.  

To finish off the bracelet I added some crystals from my stash.

Cool2Cast Butterfly in ICE Resin Bezel Necklace

Hello blogging friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I am so excited to share a new product with you today!!  I am sure many of you in the crafting community know the amazingly talented Tiffany Windsor.  She is the founder of the Cool2Craft Network featuring the popular on-line Cool2Craft TV show.  A couple of months back Tiffany launched a brand new product called Cool2Cast™.  Cool2Cast™ is a light wieght casting medium with a porcelian like finish.  It is great for mixed media art, jewelry making and embellishing.  It is very easy to work with--mix with water, shake and pour.  It only takes about an hour and you can pop your Cool2Cast™ pieces out of the silicone molds.  On your finished pieces you can ink it, paint it and stamp it.  The posibilities are endless with Cool2Cast™!

Here is a close up of a necklace I designed.  Check out the beautiful butterfly--it was made with Cool2Cast™ and a silicone mold.  

Before I tell you the details for the necklace check out all of the pieces that I made using Cool2Cast™.  I had so much fun making these and I have several projects in the works!

Okay, on to the necklace.

After I popped the butterfly out of the silicone mold I painted it.  Now what I used to paint it might surprise you a little but I have actually used this product for years on jewelry pieces--it's finger nail polish.  Are you surprised?  Years ago I used to make clay jewelry and I couldn't find the kind of paints I wanted to use so I thought why not try nail polish.  It gives the look of enamel, it's easy to use and comes in a large variety of colors.  I used NYC 151 Skyline Blue, Sinful Colors 947 Mint Apple nail polish to paint the base of the butterfly.  Then I used black acrylic paint for all of the details. For a finishing touch I applied Pure Ice Dazzle Me 1005 nail polish over the entire piece.  Then I applied Mod Podge over the entire piece to seal it.  I used one of the MB1-002S Susan Lenart Kazmer for Spellbinders® Media Mixáge™ Squares One Bezel from Spellbinders® and sprinkled  Silver Crushed Glass Glitter and Oceanic Crushed Glass Glitter in the bottom of the bezel.  Then I added Silver Filigree Embellishement #683S-S from ButterBeeScraps'.  I cut the filigree piece in half and placed one piece at the top and the other at the bottom of the bezel.  Then I poured some ICE Resin into the bezel, placed the butterfly on top and added more ICE Resin.  

To finish the necklace I attached it to a chain, added some Peacock Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon and beads from Blue Moon Beads a division of DCWV.
