Crafty Secrets Sneak Peek and Reveal Day - Altered Fairies Creative Scraps - 3D Shadow Box Cards

Good morning! Today is another Sneak Peek and Reveal Day for Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage. Today the Crafty Secrets Design Team will be doing a preview of the NEW Altered Fairies Creative Scraps and NEW 3D Shadow Box Cards. Vicki Chrisman, our Design Team Leader came up with an idea to create two 3D Shadow Box die templates, and our design team is using the 3D Shadow Box die cuts today with our projects. For more information on these products and other Crafty Secrets products click HERE to please visit the Crafty Secrets Blog. I also have a link list at the bottom of this post to the other design team members so you can visit each of their blogs.

So are you ready for the Sneak Peek?? Let me just start off by saying you are going to LOVE the vintage images in the New Altered Fairies Creative Scraps!! Gorgeous images! I had a lot of fun working with them and the 3D Shadow Box Cards. There are so many possibilities! Crafty Secrets will also be selling kits with the 3D Shadow Box Cards that you can purchase with or without the Altered Fairies Creative Scraps.

Here is the 3D Shadow Box Card that I altered.I started out with a with a white base piece, then I stamped the flourishes with Rich Cocoa ink and script with Vintage Photo ink and inked the edges of the entire piece. Then I misted the entire piece with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and also added a little Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist, placed a paper towel on top of paper and used a brayer to go over the paper towel picking up the excess Glimmer Mist. Doing this will give you a really nice soft glimmer finish. Then I started cutting out several images from the NEW Creative Scraps, Altered Fairies. OMGosh I love the images--they are so cute, colorful and whimsical--perfect for using on your altered projects! After all of the images were cut then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I started with the center panel by adding the wings and the image of the little girl--look at that darling little face! I used foam squares on the girl image and I also added a crown and used foam squares on the crown. I added some Sparkling Snow glitter to the wings and rhinestones to the crown. I added the top piece and the scalloped top to create the shadow box and then I also added rhinestones to the top. I used Gem-Tac from Beacon Adhesives to apply all of the rhinestones. Before I applied the designer paper pieces (pink-Classic Paper Pad) I inked all of the edges with Vintage Photo. I also added a pretty bird to the corner on the outside of the frame. To make the little bird sparkle I added some Sparkling Snow glitter and I used a Quickie Glue Pen to outline where I wanted the glitter. These pens work great when you want very fine lines of glitter. Next I worked on the panel to the left. I added the pink rectangle shape and the oblong decorative piece across the bottom of the rectangle adding foam squares to the oblong piece. Then I added five images from the Altered Fairies Creative Scraps to the center of the rectangle. I also used a punch to make some little twig and I added some Flower Soft and glitter. For the Flower Soft I have mixed a few colors together that I think make a wonderful woodsy moss looking mixture, Christmas Green, Shamrock Green, Nut Brown. For the decorative oblong piece I added a sentiment, heart, rhinestones and some glitter. The sentiment is also from the Altered Fairies Creative Scraps and I added some foam squares to the back. For the panel on the right I started by taping the image of the bird's nest to the pink frame shape and then positioned it in place. Next I added the pocket watch and bird images using foam square on the back to add dimension. I also added some Flower Soft and glitter to the bottom of the nest. Down in the bottom corner I added an egg along with some twig punch outs, some Flower Soft and glitter. For the top corner I added a sentiment and a metal frame embellishment with rhinestones. Here is another look at the finished Shadow Box Frame. Supplies~
