The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - G45 You are My Sunshine Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  This week seems like it just kind of flew by.  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a CAS (Clean And Simple) card to share with you.

For my card I used some of the beautiful papers from the Graphic45 Sun Kissed 8 x 8 Collection.  I just love the sweet image of the little girl at the beach.  I know sometimes people can be scared to use the G45 papers because the patterns are so pretty and they don't want to cut into the paper.  But I always say let the paper do the work for you.  Cut the paper!  You will be so happy you did lol.  The paper collections are filled with so many wonderful patterns and beautiful images it makes creating cards a breeze.  This is a very CAS card and it came together in just a few minutes.

Here is a close up of the little girl image.  I layered another piece of pattern paper behind the image and used some Foam Tape to pop it up and add some dimension.

I used another piece of pattern paper for the sentiment on the card and I also added some foam tape to this piece.

I picked out yet another piece of the pattern paper and used it for the background on the card.  I adhered everything to the front of a white A2 top folding card base.  To finish off the card I added a few Prima Say It In Crystals Zella Teal pieces.  I love the added sparkle from these crystals.

Thanks so much for joining me today!  I hope you enjoyed the card share.  All of the supplies used to create this card are listed and linked below in the supply list and can also be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  To see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Much love, hugs, and blessings,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Fairie Dust Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a beautiful fairy card to share with you using some of the gorgeous papers from the Graphic 45 Fairie Dust Collection.

Check out these papers!  I have to say I love fairies and I am in love with this paper collection!  I layered a couple of the papers and cut part of a border from one.  The main image is a cut out from the paper pad as well.  I added Foam Tape behind the image to add a little dimension.  Next, I added some 1/4" Variegated Silk Ribbon by May Arts and White Venise Lace and made a bow with the ribbon.  I added some Petaloo Botanica Collection FuchsiaPurpleTeal flowers to the center of the bow.  For a little bit of sparkle I added some Prima Say It In Crystals Zella Teal.  These crystals are so pretty and full of sparkle.

I just love this color combination!  The ribbon and flowers match the paper perfectly.

All of the paper layers were adhered to a white A2 top folding card base.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Seek and You Will Find Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a fun all occasions card to share with you using the  Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Farmhouse Scripture Quotes and some of the beautiful papers from the Graphic 45 Sun Kissed collection.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  I love the ocean and beach themed papers in this collection.  I thought this sea turtle paper worked perfectly with the sentiment.

I wanted to add a little something to the pattern paper for some interest but I didn't want it to take away from the images.  I decided to stencil over the paper except for the area with the turtle in the middle of the paper.  I wanted this to be very subtle so I used the Delicata White Shimmer Pigment Ink along with the Tim Holtz Splash Layering Stencil.  The Delicata inks are great for techniques like this because they add just a little bit of shimmer.

Here is a close up of the stenciling.  I also added Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder - Clear and used my heat tool to melt and heat set the powders.  Do this added some shimmer and texture to the paper and it's kind of a fun surprise to see when you move the card around and the light hits it.

I added some Glossy Accents to the turtle so he would stand out just a little more.

Here is another close up and you can see I added a little more glossy accents to the tiny white bubbles.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Farmhouse Scripture Quotes SS-026 set with VersaMark Ink onto black cardstock and then I added Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder - White.  I used my heat tool to melt and heat set the embossing powder.  I love the white embossing on the black cardstock.  The card base is a black A2 top folding card.  I added some  Foam Tape in between the paper layers and to finish off the card I added a few Prima Say It In Crystals Zella Teal.  I love these crystals!  They are so sparkly.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed the card share.  All of the supplies to create the card are listed and linked below and can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you would like to see more card inspiration from the design team I encourage you to visit the Stamp Simply Blog.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Spring Summer 2018 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello and good morning to everyone!  Today, I have a card to share with you that I designed for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  But I am also participating in the Spring Summer 2018 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop so my card goes along with the summertime theme for the hop.

Anyone can participate in the Spring Summer 2018 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and there are loads of wonderful prizes too!  You can click HERE to find out all of the details and join in the fun.

Flowers always make me think of summertime.  Here is the card I designed for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  I used some of the beautiful pattern papers from the Graphic 45 Fairie Dust 8 x 8 Paper Pad.  To die cut the coffee cup I used the Stamp Simply Steel Dies - Coffee or Tea? SS-DIE011 and a piece of the pretty floral pattern paper and also Bazzill Gold Mirror Cardstock.  I wanted the cup to have some gold accents.  I die cut both the cup and the handle with the gold mirror cardstock.  Then I cut the cup die cut in half and offset it with the floral die cut cup so the top and bottom edges would be accented with gold.

Here you can see a close up of the coffee cup.  I added Foam Tape to the backside of the cup for some added dimension.  I added some  Petaloo Botanica Collection Baby Blooms Purple and Minis Coral for embellishments.

For the sentiment I die cut the word coffee from black card stock three times and then layered the die cuts.  Using VersaMark Ink I stamped the sentiment from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Coffee or Tea? SS-023 on to a piece of black card stock and then heat embossed it using Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder and my heat tool.  I fussy cut the fishtail end and added some foam tape to pop the sentiment up.  I also added another flower by the sentiment.

I knew I wanted to use the beautiful pattern paper with the violets for the background.  But I wanted to soften it a bit so the coffee cup would still stand out and not get lost in the background paper so I added a piece of Vellum as a top layer.  I love how you can still see the pattern paper but it really softened the look.  I used a white A2 top folding card base for this card.

Sharon, is having a sale over at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store on ALL items in the Coffee/Tea section so if you're looking for some new goodies I encourage you to check it out.  If you would like to see more card inspiration be sure to visit The Stamp Simply Blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Born to be a STAR Shaker Card - Quick & Easy!

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  I can't believe we are already almost half way through January.  I know Spring is still way off but I am wishing for warmer weather lol.  Yesterday here in Minnesota it was in the 40's and as I type up this blog post it is -30 (yes that is a minus sign!) with the windchill!  Oh it's so darn cold lol.

Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store but before I get to my post I want to apologize for not posting the winner for the Seasons Giving blog hop.  I have had some personal things going on and I honestly just forgot.  But stop back a little later today and I will be posting the winner for the $30 Simon Says Stamp Gift Card.

Ok, let's get on to the card.  :)

For today's card I used some of the fun pattern papers from the Graphic 45 - Vintage Hollywood collection.  I used one of the cut outs to create a quick and easy shaker card.  This card really came together in less then 10 minutes.  I love shaker card but sometimes I just don't have the time to create them.  So I started looking at the cut outs in the paper collection and a few other collections.  I think you would be surprised at how many of the cut out have areas that can be cut out with a craft knife to create quick and easy shaker cards.

To start I used a craft knife to fussy cut the center of the star.  If you are careful enough when cutting out pieces you can save them to use as embellishments on your card.  Now to create the shaker all I had to do was add a piece of Acetate to the back of the cut out and then add  Foam Tape around the outer edges.  Fill with sequins and add cardstock to the back.  I cut a piece of black cardstock that was a litter larger to give the cut out a background layer.

Before I assembled the card I wanted to add a little sparkle.  I used the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to add some sparkle to the large stars on the background paper, the smaller cut out star and the word star on the shaker.

Here is a close up of the shaker.  I filled it with 5mm Black Sequins and Tiny Silver Star Sequins.  I added the cut out star to the top right corner and put a piece of foam tape behind it to pop it up a bit.  I also added a few of the tiny star sequins to the outside of the card.

I used kraft paper to create a A2 top folding card base.  The next time you want to create a shaker card I encourage you to look through the cut outs in your paper collections and see what areas could be cut out to create a little window for a shaker card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card share!

Hope you have a wonderful day!
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Give Thanks Card with Ink Smooshing Technique

Hello everyone!  I can't believe we are already over half way through the month of July!  It won't be long and Fall will be here before we know it.  Isn't it funny when we are little time seems like forever and then we get older and it just seems to fly by.  I guess it's never too early to get busy in the studio/craft room and start creating for the next season or holiday.  Today, I have a Fall card to share with you and a tutorial for ink smooshing (a very technical term lol) with a piece of acetate.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  Oh and check out the leaf and acorns.  The stamp set Give Thanks SS-009 from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps was a release from last year but now there are coordinating dies for the stamp set so that is really cool.  No more fussy cutting.  :)

Now I know it is hard to see in the photo but there is a piece of acetate where the ink is.  I smooshed down the corners of the ink pads to apply ink to the piece of acetate.  For my card I am using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Peeled PaintSpiced MarmaladeVintage Photo, and Walnut Stain.  Then lightly mist the ink with water using the Distress Sprayer.

Carefully pick up the piece of acetate, turn it over, and smoosh it down onto a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper.  Use a heat tool to dry the paper and repeat the ink smooshing until you reach the desired look.  You can wipe off the piece of acetate, add more ink, mist and smoosh it onto the paper as needed.  I did about 4 layers of ink on my paper.

Next, I used the Distress Sprayer to add water droplets on my paper.  I let the water sit on the paper for a few seconds and then use a paper towel to blot up the water.  I used the heat tool to dry the paper again.

Here is a look at the paper after adding the water droplets.

I want to add some heat embossing the the paper so I made sure it was good and dry and then I used the EK Success Powder Tool.  This is a great little tool that adds a small amount of powder to your paper and helps so you will only have embossing powder where you want it.

I used VersaMark Ink to stamp the leaf and the acorn from the Give Thanks SS-009 stamp set onto the watercolor background and then added Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and used a heat tool to melt and heat set the powder.

I used the new Stamp Simply Steel Dies Give Thanks SS-DIE005 to die cut the leaves and acorn.  I have a few extra die cuts and I'll save those for another card.

For the card front I  am using a piece of ivory cardstock and I inked the outer edges of the paper with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Peeled Paint.

I cut a piece of pattern paper from the Graphic 45 Vintage Hollywood 8 x 8 paper pad.  Then I inked the outer edges of the paper with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Spiced Marmalade which is a perfect match to the paper.

I added the pattern paper to the bottom half of the card front.  Then I tied on a piece of  May Arts Brown Silk Ribbon and frayed the ends a little bit.  I added some Foam Tape to the back of the leaf and one of the acorns for some dimension.  I added some KaiserCraft Chocolate Pearls to embellish the card.  THEN...   ...well I am sure we have all been there when we look at our card and think---just one more thing.  Yes, this is that card.  I should have stopped where I was at but I got a little ahead of myself and I wanted to add some shimmer.  So I added Zig Wink of Stella Gold Glitter Brush Pen to the leaf and the acorns.  I knew within the first couple of strokes of the brush I should have held back lol.  But there was no turning back and I had to commit to it.  Adding the  Zig Wink of Stella reactivated the inks.  So I lost some of the pretty vibrant colors.  But on the upside there is lots of sparkle.  :)

To finish off the card I added the card front to a brown A2 top folding card base.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and tutorial for ink smooshing.  If you have any of the stamp sets from the last Fall release or if you are looking for some new stamps and dies check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for the stamp sets and the new coordinating dies.  If you would like to see more card inspiration I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Distress Oxide Inks Background Tutorial - The Sea is Calling G45 Voyage Beneath the Sea Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Sorry I have been MIA!  I know it's been a couple of weeks since my last blog post.  Sadly, on May 4th my Mother-in-law passed away.  We went down to West Virginia for her funeral.  The service was beautiful and after we had a celebration of life with family and friends.  She loved to laugh and have fun so I am sure she was smiling down on all of us.  It was great to see family and friends and hear so many wonderful memories--just wish it was under different circumstances.

Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a fun card and tutorial to share with you using some of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and the beautiful Graphic 45 - Voyage Beneath the Sea Collection.  This is the first project I have worked on since coming back home and it was so nice to do something creative.  For me creating is always relaxing and it takes my mind off of other things.  Sometimes I can get lost in the creative process lol.

Here is the card I designed.  I love how the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks match the paper so perfectly.  The Distress Oxide Inks are a lot of fun to work with and you can do a lot of techniques with them.  I really like how these inks are more opaque.

I used a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper and added the colors using an Ink Blending Tool. I started by adding the Broken China ink first.  Then, I added the Cracked Pistachio and Spiced Marmalade.  I went over each of the colors a couple of times until I achieved the desired look.  I will say the Distress Oxide Inks blend beautifully.

Next, I added water droplets.  I let the water sit on the paper for a few seconds and then I used a paper towel to blot the paper and pick up the water.  Then, I used a heat tool to dry the paper and repeated the process a couple of times until I was happy with how the paper looked.

I wanted to added a little more pop of color so I used some of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Refill - Broken China and added some water to it.  I used a paint brush to flick on some of the ink.  I used a heat tool to heat set the ink and dry the paper.

I knew I was going to add this background to a white card base so I wanted to add a little bit of white to the background paper to tie everything together.  I watered down some white acrylic paint and used a paint brush to flick it onto the paper.  Then I used a heat tool to heat set and dry the paint on the paper.  I just love how this background piece turned out and it was a lot of fun to get inky and create.

I added the background to a white A2 top folding card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  Then, I added the layers of the image and sentiment both with a layer of white.  I also used 3D Foam Squares for both of the layers.

I used a Zig Wink of Stella - Clear Glitter Brush Pen to add a little bit of sparkle to the mermaid's hair.  Here is a close up to see some of the shimmer.

Here is a close up of the sentiment.

To finish off the card I added a few Webster's Pages - Party Time Sequins.

If you would like to see more card inspiration from the design team head on over to the Stamp Simply Blog.  If you are looking for any paper crafting goodies to add to your stash check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
