The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Valentine Wish Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have yet another Valentine card to share with you, LOL.  There is such a short time span to create and share Valentine cards so I have to get them in while I can.  :)

This card has a little bit of mixed media for the background.  But I have to tell you I just love how the background turned out!  The colors are so soft and pretty and the texture with the crackle gives the background just a touch of a vintage/shabby chic look.  I started with a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper.  I used the Prima Designer Stencil 6 x 6 -Flourish and Studio 490 Embossing Paste Crackled Texture to create the textured background.  Then I set it aside to dry.  Once it was dry I used Worn Lipstick and Broken China Tim Holtz Distress Inks with some water to create a watercolor wash on the background.  I used a heat tool do dry the paper.  Then I took the Antique Linen Tim Holtz Distress Ink and rubbed it directly on top of the texture so the crackles would pick up some of the ink.  Then I used a heat tool to dry the ink.

Here is a close up of the background paper so you can see the color wash and the crackle texture.  The Prima stencil is so pretty and the flourish pattern is perfect for vintage style projects.

I fussy cut the image from the  Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments 8 x8 paper pad.  I also tried to match the colors for the background to the colors in this image.  I layered the image with some pink and blue cardstock and then I added a bow using May Arts Ivory Silk Ribbon.  I also added a few Kaisercraft Mini Paper Blooms-Fairy Floss and  5mm Crystal Sequins.

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great weekend!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Lilacs for You Card

Hello!  Today, I have a card to share with you that will put you in the mood for Spring.

Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers so I was thrilled to see this new stamp set from JustRite Papercraft® CR-02161 Lilac Blossoms Clear Stamps.  I stamped the lilac image on to watercolor paper using VersaMark ink and then embossed with white embossing powder.  I used Gansai Tambi Watercolor to paint the image.  Then I stamped the CL-02157 Script Cling Background Stamp over top of the lilac image using Elderberry ink.  After the ink was dry then I added more watercolor to the background.

Here is a close up of the lilac image.  I also added May Arts Purple Silk Ribbon and then some tiny white and purple acrylic flowers with some purple bling for the flower centers.

I inked the edges of the background with more of the Elderberry ink and then layered the background with blue cardstock and a purple card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

ButterBeeScraps Heart and Roses Necklace

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a necklace to share with you that would be perfect for Valentine's Day.   Not too long ago Monique, owner of ButterBeeScraps added some new products to the store.  As soon as I saw this heart filigree I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.

I used the Bronze Filigree Embellishment (Item #023-B)-heart as the main focal point for the necklace.  I love all the details on this heart and even though it is a larger heart it is still so dainty looking.  The heart was bronze and I mixed two colors of Vintaj Paints--Quartz, and Ruby to get the perfect light pink.  I brushed the paint on and set the piece aside to dry.  Once it was dry then I used steel wool to buff the filigree piece.  Doing this removes some of the paint and lets some of the metal show giving it and aged or patina look.  To finish the heart I sprayed a couple light coats of a clear matte sealer.

To create the beaded dangles I used 8x12mm Faceted Glass Teardrop Beads - Clear AB, 4x6mm Faceted Glass Abacus Beads - Clear ABBronze Filigree Bead Caps (Item #CAP046-B)Clear Rhinestone Rondelle Spacer Beads - 6mm (Item #BD006-B/CL) and Bronze Ball End Head Pins.  The beads are new to the store too and they are so pretty and sparkly!  I wire wrapped the loops and used small bronze jump rings to attach the beaded dangles to the heart.

I added some white/pink porcelain flowers and a few white pearls to finish off the heart.  I used E6000 to adhere the flowers and pearls.  Lastly, I added a chain and lobster clasp.

I hope you enjoyed seeing another jewelry piece.  Something to keep in mind--even if you don't design jewelry this heart filigree would make a beautiful embellishment on a card or a scrapbook layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

ButterBeeScraps Dangle Earrings

Hello everyone!  Today, I have some fun dangle earrings to share with you.  I made three pairs of earrings and all of the brass filigree pieces are from ButterBeeScraps.  I wanted to tone the brass down just a little bit on the filigree pieces so I added some Antique White Rub'n Buff on all of the pieces.  Then I added some resin flowers to each piece and create bead dangles to match.

Here is the first pair of earrings.  For these I used  Brass Filigree Embellishment (Item #946-G).  Then I added some tiny blue acrylic flowers with a rhinestone centers to the filigree piece.  On the top half I added some brass chain and for the bottom I added a beaded dangles.

Here is a close up.

The second pair of earring is the smallest of the three pairs.  I used Brass Filigree Embellishment (Item #948-G) and added ivory resin roses to the center of the filigree pieces.  Then I added crystal bead dangles.

Here is a close up.

Love the pretty pink AB roses on these earrings.  I used the Brass Filigree Embellishment (Item #003-G) and added the pink resin rose to the center.  Then I created pearl dangles to add to the bottom of the earrings.

Here is a close up.
I also used Bronze Ball End Head Pins on all of the earrings to create the beaded dangles.

I hope you enjoyed all of the earrings.  They were pretty quick and easy to create.

Please be sure to check out ButterBeeScraps for all kinds of metal filigrees, charms and crystals. Lots of fun pieces to create jewelry and all to use as embellishments.  If you are looking for some fantastic deals Monique, owner of ButterBeeScraps just added several fun Grab Bags to the store.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Love Locket Valentine Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have another Valentine card to share with you.  There is just a little bit of fussy cutting with this card but for the most part is is pretty CAS (Clean And Simple).

I used four of the different pattern papers from the Prima Stationer's Desk 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  I used one paper for the background and then I created three banners with the other papers.  This is where the fussy cutting comes in but it is just a little bit on the ends of the banners.

I used some Bazzill Silver Mirror Cardstock and the S2-035 Love Locket die set to create the key and locket die cut shapes.  I added a few Melissa Frances Cream Pearls to the key and locket.  Next I added May Arts 1.25"  Gray Silk Ribbon and tied in to a simple knot at the top of the card.  I used some Silver Metallic String and looped it through the ribbon at the top and then attached it to the key and locket.  I used 3D Foam Squares to add a little dimension to the key and locket.  To finish off the card I added a few Petaloo Botanica Collection Sugar Red Minis Burgundy.  I think these flowers are so pretty with the clear chunky glitter on them.  For the base of the card I used a deep red cardstock.

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great weekend!

ButterBeeScraps Angel Wing Necklace

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a jewelry piece to share with you using some of the ButterBeeScraps findings and filigrees.

Here is the necklace that I designed.  I used two of the Bronze Wing Charms (Item #J327-B) with a small Bronze Flower Connector in the center and then created bead dangles to hang from the connector.  The wings already have a hole in them at the base but I needed to make another hole in the top of each wing to create the necklace so I used a tool called a screw hole punch.

If you have never seen a screw hole punch this is what it looks like.  You just place the metal piece inside the slot and turn the handle until it create the hole.  You can feel this as you are turning the tool.  Then you just unscrew the handle and it will release the metal piece.  The red arrows so where I made the holes at the top of the wings.  These tools can be found a most craft stores in the jewelry/bead area.

Here is another look at the tool and as you can see it has two different sizes so you can create the size hole you need.

Next I applied Patina Rub 'n Buff to the wings.  The Rub 'n Buff is kind of creamy and you just rub it onto the metal and let it sit for a few seconds and then take a paper towel or a clean cloth and buff off the excess or until you get a look you like.  If you buff off too much you can always apply more and do it again.  I set the wings aside for about 20 minutes and then I applied a clear coat metal sealer.

To finish off the necklace I Bronze Chain (Item #CH206-B) and then added a lobster clasp.

I hope you like the jewelry piece for today and thank you so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend and do something creative!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Be Mine Valentine Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have another Valentine card to share with you.  But before I get started I wanted to let you know that today is Sharon Johnson's Birthday, owner of The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  The Design Team surprised her with a special Birthday Blog Hop and you can click HERE to see that post and get the links to the other designer's blogs.  Also be sure to hop over to Sharon's Blog or Facebook and wish her a Happy Birthday!!  Ok, now on to the card--I know this card might look like a lot but it actually came together pretty quick and easy with just a little bit of stamping then layer some die cuts and adding embellishments.

Here is the card that I designed.  I love the gold and pinks together!  The base of the card is light pink then I have a white and rose mat and another layer of the light pink for the card front.  I used the flourish stamp from the JustRite Papercraft® CR-02151 Loving Sentiments Clear Stamps and Delicata Golden Glitz ink to stamp in each corner.  As I was stamping I trying to line up the stamp so the little curls on the end of the stamp would kind of line up and overlap a little.

I love using the Delicata Golden Glitz ink!  Here is a close up of the stamping so you can see some of the shimmer from the ink.

Next I used S4-471 Labels Forty-Two with white cardstock to create the embossed label shape.  Then I used Bazzill Mirror Gold Cardstock and rose cardstock along with the S2-022 Vines of Passion die template to create the heart.  To do this I used both dies in the set to cut the gold heart and then I just used one die to create the solid heart and layered the two pieces together.  I used the smallest die from the S2-101 Fancy Label Tags Three die set to create the little tag and stamped the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The sentiment is also from the CR-02151 Loving Sentiments Clear Stamps.

I added some loops of the May Arts Metallic Gold String to the back of the heart for some interest.  I also added a few flowers from the Petaloo Botanica Collection Minis Fuchsia and Melissa Frances White Pearls .  Once I had all of the pieces die cut and stamped I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares and E-Z Runner Permanent Strips-Refillable Dispenser 49' to adhere all the pieces together.

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

JustRite Papercraft Tutorial Tuesday Masking Technique with Lilacs Blossom Clear Stamps

Hello everyone!  It's Tutorial Tuesday and I a masking technique to share with you.  Now I know the masking technique has been around for awhile but sometimes it good to get back to the basics and revisit some favorite techniques.

Here is the card I designed using the CR-02161 Lilac Blossoms Clear Stamps and CL-02153 Upcycled Woodgrain Cling Background Stamp.  One of the things I love about the masking technique is being able to take a couple stamps or several stamps and layer them with masking to create the look of one image.  You can really expand your stamps and create all kinds of images using this technique.
To see more pictures and find out all of the details you can click HERE to visit the JustRite Inspiration Blog or you can click HERE to see my video.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoy the tutorial.  :)

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - With Love Valentine Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have my first Valentine's Day card to share with you.  This card is pretty CAS (Clean And Simple) for me and I think it would be one that you could recreate and make several of at one time if you needed some Valentine cards.

I love the touches of metallic gold and the simplicity of this card.  Metallic gold is very popular right now so any time you can add a touch of gold to your projects it will really make them pop.  I used the S4-457 Cascading Hearts die and the great thing or extra added little bonus about this die is all the drop out pieces are tiny hearts.  So I die cut twice--once using white cardstock and a second time using Bazzill Metallic Gold Mirror Cardstock.  The result was lots of white and gold tiny hearts.  Next I adhered the white and pink cardstock togeteher and then I used Ranger Glossy Accents to add in some of the gold hearts.  The little gold hearts look almost like sequins so I save the rest of the hearts to be able to use on other projects.  I love it when I can get double duty out of products!

Here is a close up of the gold hearts.  I also added some Baby Pink Seam Binding and one of the flowers from the Petaloo Botanica Minis - Fuchsia pack.

To create the sentiment I used more of the  Bazzill Metallic Gold Mirror Cardstock and the S2-139 Sentiments Three - with love die template.  This is another die that you could get double duty out of (or couple different looks) if you didn't want the die cut to be so long you could cut off the swirls on the end and you could cut apart the two words.  You could also use just the word love if you wanted to to.  So you would be able to get some different looks and expand the use of this die.

For the base of the card I used raspberry cardstock.

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great weekend!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

CHA Sneak Peek from Ken Oliver Crafts! 8 x 8 Canvas

Hello everyone!  I have to say I am excited to share this post with all of you.  With a New Year comes new beginnings and new opportunities--and CHA with lots of new products.
So I have a CHA Sneak Peek from Ken Oliver Crafts to share with you.

This is a 8 x 8 canvas that I designed using papers from Ken Oliver Crafts Watercolor Memories Collection.  This canvas will be at CHA with all of the other beautiful projects created by some amazing designers.  This is such a beautiful watercolor floral collections.  One of the things I really love is that one side of the paper has soft muted colors and the other side is bright and bold.  For the canvas I used the 12 x 12 and 6 x 6 Watercolor Rose paper.  For the background of the canvas I used 12 x 12 paper with the softer colors and for the focal point I used the 6 x 6 paper with the brighter colors.

I also used a Prima stencil and applied Liquitex Modeling Paste to create the flourishes.  Then I used  Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains-Spun Sugar and Tarnished Brass to highlight the textured areas.

Here is a side view so you can see some of the dimension.  For the focal point in the canter I used some fun foam to pop up the center part.  Then I used a whole sheet of the 6 x 6 size paper and applied that to the fun foam and used more of the modeling past to cover up the foam.  Then I used a second 6 x 6 piece and fussy cut the roses.  I used a stylus to make the paper more pliable and shape it.  Then I more foam to the back to also pop up the image.

I applied Golden Glass Bead Gel to the image of the roses.  Doing this adds more texture and dimension to the roses.  The Glass Bead Gel is white but as it dries it becomes clear and it is filled with clear micro beads.  You can leave it as is or add color to it.  I used a paint brush and added Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain on the Glass bead Gel once it was dry.

I printed out the sentiment with the computer and cut them in to word blocks.  I used another fantastic new product from Ken and that is his new inks.  I used the Walnut ink on the word blocks.

Now I know this isn't the prettiest picture but I just wanted you to see the dimension.

I had so much fun just playing and creating this canvas!

I also wanted to let you know I am excited to announce that I am one of the Style Contributor for
Ken Oliver Crafts!  I am so honored and excited to be working with Ken--he is simply amazing and a great friend!  I am also excited to be working alongside several other amazing Style Contributors.  Are you wondering who they might be?  Well, you will have to check out Ken's Blog as he has been sharing lots of CHA Sneak Peeks and projects from some very talented crafty peeps.  :)

Ok, I guess that's it for today.  Don't forget you can click on all of the pictures to enlarge them and see all the details.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope your New Year is off to a great start!

Hugs & Smiles,
