Monster Jam Scrapbook Layout

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a fun scrapbook layout to share with you. Last month we went to a Monster Jam--it was Evan's first time going to an event like this and he was SO Excited!!

We have so many great pictures from that day!! The Cub Scout troop was able to get a really great deal on the tickets and we also got to go to the Pit Party! If you have never been to a Pit Party it's pretty crazy--you get to go down on the floor where all of the trucks and drivers are and you can take tons of pictures and get autographs from all of the drivers. This year is the 30th Anniversary of the Grave Digger so the event was HUGE and tons of people were there!!

I used S5-046 Banner Basics Three die templates and Echo Park Apothecary Emporium 6 x 6 Paper Pad to create the little flags. Then I used Green Apple Baker's Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to finish off the banners.

I used Royal & Langnickel Engraving Art Silver Foil along with S5-048 Sprightly Sprockets die templates to create all of the sprockets and gears and then I lightly sanded them to reveal the silver foil.

To create the faux film strips I used S4-132 Classic Rectangles Large die templates. I had so much fun designing this layout and Evan LOVES it!! ;-)

We have so many pictures from the Monster Jam you might be seeing a few more layout with the BIG Monster Trucks.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and creative day! Now I am off to clean my crafting area--OMGosh what a mess--LOL!! Are you a clean crafter or does it look like a whirlwind comes through when the creative juices are flowing?

Hugs & Smiles,
HeidiLink

Layered Cross Sympathy Card

Hello blogging friends! Is it hard for you to make sympathy cards? Part of me has never liked making sympathy cards, I guess it's just because when we see a sympathy card we know there is sadness and a feeling of great loss for a loved one or a friend. But over the years I have tried to change how I think about creating sympathy cards and yes there is grief but I also try to think of the person who has passed and the beautiful life that they had and all of the lives they have touched along the way and then somehow it seems a little easier.

Before my youngest son was born I was a floral designer and used to manage a floral shop and one of the hardest things to do was making arrangements with the family for the funeral. I remember one day at the shop when we were working on flowers for someone that all of us knew and everyone was having a hard time when one of the older ladies who worked there told me this---when I am working with the flowers I think of the person and the beauty of their life and I try to make them the most beautiful flower arrangement for their journey home. I don't think I will ever forget that and ever since then I have tried to think about creating a little differently when it comes to making sympathy cards. So maybe this will be something that is helpful for you during the times when it can be harder to create.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Stampscapes and Spellbinders Wolf Card

Hello blogging friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Today started out kind of cloudy and gloomy here but now the sun is shinning and it looks like a beautiful day. I guess I better enjoy the sunshine because they are calling for a big winter storm for Tuesday and Wednesday, but we'll see what happens--we have had so very little snow this year. I can't believe the kids haven't had any snow days--not even a late start! I have a card to share with you today that I made for my husbands boss who just recently got a promotion.

It has been awhile since I used my Stampscape stamps but I love doing the masking technique and layering the images and these images are great for masculine cards.

I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils for all of the coloring on the image. The wolf image is and oldie (from PSX 1996 G-1855) but I love it! I used three of the Stampscape images to make the larger stamped image--For the moon I used Cloud w/Crescent Moon Lg -202G, for the mountains I used Rocky Peaks-188F and for the waterfall I used Cascading Falls Lg-015G. I stamped the images in this order doing the masking technique--wolf, mountains, moon and waterfall.

Here is a close up of the image.

I used LF-168 Grand Large Labels to create the base of the card and all of the layering mats. Then I used S5-066 Shadow Flowers die templates with Engraving Art Silver foil to create the flowers. I lightly sanded the die cuts to reveal the silver foil and adhered them to the card using 3D Foam Squares. Along the bottom I added the word Journey. I used S5-009 Jewel Keys to create the die cut word. I also added some Glossy Accents to the water and sprinkled a little Diamond Clear Glitter and then I added Black Jellie Dots along the bottom corner.

All of the cardstock is from Discount Cardstock and listed below in the supply list.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed the post and the card. Do you have any favorite stamps that you use for making masculine cards?

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Dream, Imagine, Create Card

Hello blogging friends! I just have a short blog post today with a quick and easy card.

Check out the die cut in the background that looks like a page out of a notebook. This is from the New S4-359 Office Supplies die template set by Becky Fleck to go along with her PageMaps 2 book.

I lightly inked the page die cut with Old Paper Distress ink. I used Simply Smooth White with S5-084 Girlie Grunge Labels die templates and purple chalk ink to create the word blocks. Then I lightly inked them with Old Paper Distress ink and edged them with Rich Cocoa ink and layered them on to the page with 3D Foam Squares.

To create the flower I used Planet Purple and Simply Smooth White cardstock with S4-355 Layered Flowers die templates. I added a button to the center of the flower.

The card base is Posh Milk Chocolate Felt and I layered Simply Smooth White and Kraft mats for the card front. To embellish the card I wrapped the top of the card with a little Baker's Twine Brown Sugar from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you had a Fantastic weekend!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Butterfly Necklace with Spellbinders, Shimmer Sheetz & Artistic Wire

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a fun necklace to share with you that will be perfect for Spring. We have had a very mild winter here in MN which I am thankful for but I am ready for Spring. I can't wait to see the sunshine, green grass and blooming flowers!

Here is the necklace that I designed. I used LF-006 Wonderful Wings die template from Spellbinders, Blue Iris Shimmer Sheetz from Elizabeth Craft Designs, Rose & Amethyst wire from Artistic Wire and Glitter & Rhinestones from The Rubber Cafe.

I am SO excited to share this with you because while I was at CHA and demoing in the Spellbinders booth I figured out how to be able to cut the Shimmer Sheetz using the Grand Calibur and Spellbinders die templates. The Shimmer Sheetz are an iridescent and metallic Mylar sheet.

To start I tape the die template down really good. I wouldn't normally add this much tape if I was die cutting paper but the Shimmer Sheetz can kind of curl up a little bit from the die cutting and the pressure of the machine so I have found that adding several pieces of tape to hold the die template in place will keep this from happening.

Next place the die template with the Shimmer Sheetz along the edge of the Base Plate (on the side). You will want to turn the die template over so the cut side is facing up--I am just showing it the opposite way for the picture so you can see where it would be placed.

Then shim with one to two pieces of cardstock. The butterfly die template that I used is very detailed and has a lot of drop out pieces so I used two pieces of cardstock.

Look at the beautiful results!! **For the necklace I used 2 shimmer sheet die cuts and 2 cardstock die cuts of the butterfly and layered them with a Shimmer Sheetz on top, then 2 pieces of cardstock and another Shimmer Sheetz on the bottom and I used Glossy Accents from Ranger to adhere and layer all of the pieces.

After I had all of the layers together then I edged the butterfly with Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and Terrifically Teal Glitter from The Rubber Cafe. Then I added Clear Rhinestones (coming soon!) to the body of the butterfly and then I applied a two layers of Glossy accents to the front and one to the back of the butterfly.

Once the butterfly piece was dry (I let it sit for 24 hours) then I added a silver chain and I used 22 Ga. Silver Plated Rose & Amethyst Wire from Artistic Wire and tools (listed below) from Beadalon to create these fun swirls. I added Clear Rhinestones (coming soon!) and colored then with B06 Peacock Blue Copic marker.

One more thing to share...

On a more personal note--while I was at CHA I was able to get my copy of the New Artistic Wire Wireded Cards & Embellishments and my Friendships Bloom card (the rose card) is on the Front Cover!! So honored and so excited to see my card on the cover!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Happy Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras and a Happy Birthday Card

Hello blogging friends! Happy Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras!! Today, I have a birthday card to share with you that is perfect for Mardi Gras.

All of the cardstock is from Discount Cardstock and this week Gemini Green is on sale. Click HERE to check it out (prices will be posted by 10 am). Bright and bold is usually not my style but I really had a lot of fun coming out of my comfort zone and creating this card. For the background I layered Gemini Green and Simply Smooth White and then I embossed the green using EL-007 Elegance M-Bossabilities Folder from Spellbinders.

Here is a close up of the embossed background.

I used S5-083 Antique Frame and Accents and I cut/embossed the frame twice using Soot and Simply Smooth White. I used the center piece from the white frame to stamp the sentiment and I am saving the extra white frame and black center for another project. The sentiment is from CR-03640 Spring Words from JustRite Stampers. Next I used Gemini Green, Galaxy Gold & Planet Purple along with S4-363 Jewel Fantasies die templates from Spellbinders to create the peacock feathers. I also used Gemini Green & Really Red with S5-086 Bitty Blossoms to create the rolled rose and leaves.

Here is a close up of the peacock feathers. I used You're So Fine Glitter Limeade Green, Gold Medal & Lilac Purple and Clear Rhinestones (coming soon!) from The Rubber Cafe to embellish the feathers. I colored the rhinestones on the purple and green feathers using Copic Markers YG67 & B06.

Here is a close up of the rose and leaves. I used Patriot Red & Fir Tree Green You're So Fine Glitter from The Rubber Cafe. I absolutely love how the glitter looks on this little rose!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
If you go out to celebrate have fun, have good food & drinks and Be Safe!!

JustRite Stampers - New Release - At The Beach Oval Medallion Labels

Good morning! How does a day at the beach sound? It sounds wonderful to me! The sun is shining and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day but it's still a little cold here in MN for a day at the beach so how about a beach theme card. ;-)

I used CL-03655 At The Beach Oval Medallion Labels from JustRite Stampers to design this card. This is one of the New Release from JustRite Stampers.

I used Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the beach image and then I colored it using Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I really like using these pencils, it take a little getting used to just like with Copic markers but you can blend them and do the shading too.

Then I wanted to add some glitter to the waves so I used Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and Diamond Clear Glitter from The Rubber Cafe. I love using this glue because you don't have to rush with it. You just apply it where you would like to have the glitter and then rub the glitter on. The glue stays tacky to be able to apply things like glitter with ease.

Here is a close up and you can see all the sparkle from the glitter in this photo.

Here is another close up of the finished card. I also used S5-082 Nautical Frames and Accents die templates from Spellbinders to create the shells and the waves. I used one of the waves as a cloud and I added more glitter to the waves, shells and cloud. For the background I used a Blue Iris Shimmer Sheetz from Elizabeth Craft Designs and embossed it with ES-001 Simplicity M-Bossabilities Folder. After I embossed it then I lightly sanded the Shimmer Sheetz.

Please be sure to check out all of the JustRite DT Members listed below to see what they have designed to share with you using CL-03655 At The Beach Oval Medallion Labels stamp set.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful sunshine filled weekend!!

JustRite Stampers - New Release - Easter Blessings

Good morning blogging friends! Today, I have a card to share with you using one of the New Releases from JustRite Stampers, CR-03660 Easter Blessings.

This is such a pretty stamp set and even though it is an Easter stamp set you could still use it for several other occasions such as baptisms, weddings, sympathy and thinking of you. The stamp set has several beautiful verses/sentiments too.

Here is a close up of the stamped image. I stamped the image twice with Rich Cocoa ink on to Simply Smooth White cardstock. Then I colored both the frame and the cross images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I used the JustRight Custom Dies JB-10025 Nested Oval Medallion Label Dies and S4-110 Classic Ovals Large die templates from Spellbinders along with the Grand Calibur to cut/emboss the die cut shapes. I added the cross image to a piece of Kraft cardstock and then layered the frame using 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Then I added Diamond Clear Glitter to the cross image and around the outside of the frame and Pearl Jellie Dots both from The Rubber Cafe.

The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye Rosy Lost & Found Two. I love the white damask pattern on the craft background! I also added Noelle White Crochet Lace Trim and White Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The Noelle White Crochet Lace Trim is so soft and delicate and I think it's a perfect match for the stamped image and the pattern paper. To finish off the card I added a couple of trinket pins.

Please visit each of the JustRite DT Members listed below to see what they have created to share with you using the New CR-03660 Easter Blessings.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!!

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop - February Ribbon Club

Good morning blogging friends! Today, is the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop for the month of February. The RRR Design Team Members and Special Event Design Team Members will be showcasing the Monthly Ribbon Club.

This month there is a beautiful assortment of Light Green, Dark Green, White and Printed Ribbons included in the February Ribbon Club Click HERE for more details.

If you are following the order of the blog hop you should have just come from Bonnie's Blog. If not and you just happened to pop in for a visit please click HERE to start the blog hop at the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings! Blog.
Bonnie has a new blog so please be sure to leave her a lot of love!! ;-)

For my project I made a St. Patrick's Day centerpiece.

I used three of the ribbons in the February Ribbon Club from Really Reasonable Ribbon, S5-114 Spectacular Spin Cut, Fold & Tuck dies and S4-114 Standard Circles Large die templates from Spellbinders and CR-03640 Spring Words stamp set from JustRite Stampers to create a medallion.

I used pattern paper and foil for the S5-114 Spectacular Spin Cut, Fold & Tuck dies and layered all of the pieces using 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. Then I added the stamped image from CR-03640 Spring Words to the center and added a little color with a Copic marker.

Here is the back of the medallion, as you can see I cut strips of the ribbon and used a hot glue gun to adhere the ribbon. I made a ribbon loop in the back and then threaded another piece of ribbon to be able to tie the medallion on to the jar.

I added some Clear Rhinestones (coming soon!) from The Rubber Cafe and then added a little color to them using a Copic marker.

I made a little Good Luck tag using S5-105 Floral Tags from Spellbinders and CR-03640 Spring Words stamp set from JustRite Stampers.

To make the ribbon accents in the bouquet just make a loop, leave a little tail and wrap the end with wire.

Since I was using silk flowers and had no need for water I filled the jar with white buttons (I have a few on hand LOL) and the buttons work great to hold the flowers in place.

Now to continue in the blog hop you need to hop on over to Misty's Blog and check out her fantastic project!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the Really Reasonable Blog Hop!! Don't forget to visit the RRR Store and check out all of the beautiful ribbons, lace and trims!

I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
