The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - 2017 SUMMER Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I am also participating in the 2017 SUMMER Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  I used some of the fun images from the Altenew Coffee Love clear stamp set.  The background was done with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and I have a tutorial to share with you on how I created the background.

To start I inked up a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.  I inked up the top portion of the paper with Vintage Photo and the for the bottom I used the Walnut Stain.  The inks meet and mix on a diagonal angle.

I used the  Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer to add some water droplets on the paper.  Adding the water will make the inks oxidize.  I used a paper towel to blot us the water drops and then used a heat tool to dry the paper.

Next, I smooshed the Oxide Inks Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain on my craft mat and used the Distress Sprayer to add the water.  I sprayed enough water until the ink started to bead up.

I smooshed the paper down in the ink and then used a heat tool to heat set and dry the inks.  I just kept repeating the process until I liked how the paper looked.  I think I smooshed the paper in the ink four or five times and and used a heat tool in between the layers of ink.  That is the beauty of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks because of the fusion of dye and pigment inks you can layer the inks and they won't muddy up--as long as you heat set in between the layers.  I wanted to add the water droplets to the paper first and then do the ink smooshing to have the different colors and layers of inks on the paper.  Doing this creates more depth and interest to the background. I love creating background with these inks!

I did some masking and stamped the coffee pot and cups using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on to a piece of white Copic friendly paper.  The Copic markers I used are also in the link list below.  I used one of the dies from the Spellbinders Celebrations Die - Pierced Rectangles set to die cut the rectangle shape.

I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp the sentiment from the Altenew Coffee Love clear stamp set.  I added a few Webster's Pages Sequin Mix - Party Time by the sentiment.  I also added a little bit of sparkle with the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the little heart and black border on the cups.  Then I added Ranger Glossy Accents on top of the Wink of Stella.

Here is a close up look at the background paper.  You can also click on any of the images to make them bigger and see more detail.  As you can see from the picture I also added some blue ink splatters.  I smooshed the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Broken China onto my craft mat and then added some water and used a Watercolor Brush to flick on the color.  I also did this on the paper with the colored images but I didn't want to have any of the color on the images so I reapplied the masks and then added the color.

To finish off the card I added some  May Arts 1/4'' Teal Silk Ribbon to a couple of the corners.  Then I added Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Tape to the back of the colored image and the background and then layered the two pieces together.  I added the card front to a black A2 top folding card and that finished it.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Distress Oxide Inks Background Tutorial - The Sea is Calling G45 Voyage Beneath the Sea Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Sorry I have been MIA!  I know it's been a couple of weeks since my last blog post.  Sadly, on May 4th my Mother-in-law passed away.  We went down to West Virginia for her funeral.  The service was beautiful and after we had a celebration of life with family and friends.  She loved to laugh and have fun so I am sure she was smiling down on all of us.  It was great to see family and friends and hear so many wonderful memories--just wish it was under different circumstances. 

Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a fun card and tutorial to share with you using some of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and the beautiful Graphic 45 - Voyage Beneath the Sea Collection.  This is the first project I have worked on since coming back home and it was so nice to do something creative.  For me creating is always relaxing and it takes my mind off of other things.  Sometimes I can get lost in the creative process lol.

Here is the card I designed.  I love how the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks match the paper so perfectly.  The Distress Oxide Inks are a lot of fun to work with and you can do a lot of techniques with them.  I really like how these inks are more opaque.

To start I matched the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks to the Graphic 45 - Voyage Beneath the Sea Collection.

I used a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper and added the colors using an Ink Blending Tool. I started by adding the Broken China ink first.  Then, I added the Cracked Pistachio and Spiced Marmalade.  I went over each of the colors a couple of times until I achieved the desired look.  I will say the Distress Oxide Inks blend beautifully.

Next, I added water droplets.  I let the water sit on the paper for a few seconds and then I used a paper towel to blot the paper and pick up the water.  Then, I used a heat tool to dry the paper and repeated the process a couple of times until I was happy with how the paper looked.

I wanted to added a little more pop of color so I used some of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Refill - Broken China and added some water to it.  I used a paint brush to flick on some of the ink.  I used a heat tool to heat set the ink and dry the paper.

I knew I was going to add this background to a white card base so I wanted to add a little bit of white to the background paper to tie everything together.  I watered down some white acrylic paint and used a paint brush to flick it onto the paper.  Then I used a heat tool to heat set and dry the paint on the paper.  I just love how this background piece turned out and it was a lot of fun to get inky and create.

I added the background to a white A2 top folding card base using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares.  Then, I added the layers of the image and sentiment both with a layer of white.  I also used 3D Foam Squares for both of the layers.

I used a Zig Wink of Stella - Clear Glitter Brush Pen to add a little bit of sparkle to the mermaid's hair.  Here is a close up to see some of the shimmer.

To finish off the card I added a few Webster's Pages - Party Time Sequins.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - I AM So Thankful Shaker Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a fun shaker card to share with you using some of the pretty papers from Simple Stories I AM collection.  This is such a fun little paper pad filled with cut outs and inspiration.  All of the sweet little sentiments go with I AM--I AM Thankful, I AM Blessed, I AM Beautiful, I AM Inspired--just a few examples.  It's a great paper pad for fussy cutting or also for quick and easy cards.

Here is the shaker card that I designed.  I love the fun colors in the paper too.  This was actually very quick and easy to create.  I used two of the die templates from the Spellbinders Celebrations Die - Pierced Rectangles and taped them down on my paper creating the frame shape and die cut.  Then I used the largest of the two dies to die cut Hot Off The Press Heat Resistant Acetate.  Lastly I used that same die to cut the background piece.  I used Scor-Tape to adhere the die cut frame and the Acetate together.  Then I added 3D Foam Squares all along the backside of the frame.  You could also use foam tape or craft foam for this.  Next I added some 5mm Gold Sequins and Webster's Pages Party Time Sequin Collection.  Then I fussy cut the I AM image and adhered that to the piece I die cut for the background.  To finish off the shaker box I adhered the die cut background piece to the back of the frame with the 3D Foam Squares and sealed up the box.

Here is a close up of the shaker box.

I used more Scor-Tape to adhere the shaker box to the front of the card.  I fussy cut the heart and the so thankful banner from the same paper pad.  I added tails on the banner and for a bit of sparkle I added Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the heart.  I added both of the cut out pieces to the front and popped them up with 3D Foam Squares.

JustRite Tutorial Tuesday Watercolor Series Part I -Creating Designer Papers with Distress Inks and Distress Markers

Hello everyone!  It's time for Tutorial Tuesday for JustRite® Papercraft and today I will be sharing the first video in a series doing watercolor techniques.  In this first video I will be showing you how to do four different watercolor techniques.

The first technique is using Distress Inks and a square acrylic block.

The second technique is using Distress Markers and a rectangle acrylic block.

For the third technique I used Distress Inks and layers of water drops to remove some of the ink.  The layers of water drops in this technique give the look of Bokeh which is very popular right now.

For the forth technique I used Distress Inks and share how to create a watermarked using a background stamp.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Hello Friend Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a floral Hello Friend card to share with you.  

This was one of those cards where everything just came together so nicely.  I started with the beautiful piece of paper from the Prima Princess 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  I used a pink mat and added some May Arts Pink Silk Ribbon and then added this to a ivory card base.  Then I created a few die cuts using  S2-099 Fancy Labels Tags One, S2-049 Corner Sprigs, IN-037 Celebrations Two, S2-046 Blooms Three die templates from Spellbinders Paper Arts®.  

I used ivory cardstock for the label shape, pink for the sentiment and largest flower, and green for the springs.  I added a Kaisercraft-Sparklets Crystal to the center of the largest flower.  After the die cuts were done I started to assemble and layer all of the pieces and the card came together in a matter of just a few minutes.  Gotta love it when that happens!

To finish off the card I added a couple of flowers from the Petaloo-Botanica Pink Minis and some Webster's Pages Party Time Sequins.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Sparkling Dandylion Card

Hello everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a CAS (Clean And Simple) card with a lot of sparkle to share with you.

For my card I used a couple of the papers from the Prima Princess Collection 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  I think some of the papers in this collection are so soft and dreamy looking.  I used Dandylion, and Dragon Delight die templates from Spellbinders to create the die cuts.  Both of these die templates are new releases and they are part of the Die D-Lite Collection.  I used white cardstock for the die cuts.  Then I applied Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to the flowers and part of the dragonfly and I added Ranger Distress Glitter Clear Rock Candy.  I love how this turned out!  The Distress Glitter areas look like a very light ivory on top of the white giving the die cuts a two tone look.

Here is a close up.  I love all the sparkle!  I added a few Melissa Frances White Pearls, and Webster's Pages Sequins Mix-Party Time.  The peachy pink sequins match the paper perfectly.  I added some 3D Foam Squares to the flowers and the dragonfly to pop them up a little and add some dimension to the card.  I didn't add a sentiment to the front of the card but if you wanted to you could stamp a sentiment right on to the card front or add a tag with the sentiment if you wanted to change it up.  I think this card could be used for several different occasions.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Webster's Pages Floral Cameo Card

Hello and Happy Monday to everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a pretty floral cameo card using Webster's Pages Postcards from Paris II 6 x 6 Collection.

I love the beautiful pattern papers from the Webster's Pages Postcards from Paris II 6 x 6 Collection.  The papers have wonderful images with a vintage look.  For the base of the card I used pink cardstock with an ivory mat and then the floral print on the top.  I created two die cuts using S4-427 Decorative Labels 34 and S6-010 5 x 7 Heirloom Legacy die templates from Spellbinders Paper Arts® using pink and ivory cardstock.  I added some  Cream Seam Binding and  3D Foam Squares in between the layers from some dimension.  Then I added the bows and the beautiful Webster's Pages Postcards from Paris II Perfect Accents Cameo to the center.

To finish off the card I added a few light pink Prima Delight Sugardot Stickers.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Graphic 45 Secret Garden Violet Card

Hello and Happy Monday to everyone!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a pretty Spring card to share with you.  I'm not sure how everyone else is feeling but I know I am ready for Spring and some warmer temperatures.  But I know that's a long ways off so I thought why not create something with some pretty Spring colors.  

To create my card I used some of the beautiful Graphic 45 Secret Garden pattern papers.  I love the little floral images!  I fussy cut the images and then I distressed the edges a little.  The base of the card is purple with a white mat and then I used the largest die template in the S5-217 A2 Valiant Honor set to create a die cut and add another layer.  I used the lavender pattern paper for that layer.  Then I used white cardstock and the smaller die template from the same set to die cut another decorative rectangle.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad- Antique Linen to lightly ink the edges.  I also used the S5-220 Architectural Accents die template to create some flourishes.  I used some green pattern paper for the flourishes and I lightly sanded the die cuts to make the embossing pop a little more.  Then I layered the floral images on top and used 3D Foam Squares to add a little dimension.

To finish off the card I added a Seam Binding-Lavender bow and a pretty resin piece from Webster's Pages Postcards from Paris II-Perfect Accents.  I used a little hot glue to adhere the resin piece.
