Deep Sorrow Sympathy CAS (Clean and Simple) Card

Hello and Happy Halloween!!

Today, I have another CAS (Clean and Simple) card to share with you.  Sorry, it's another sympathy card so soon.  I know a lot of us don't like the thought of having to make sympathy cards but it's one of those cards that unfortunately we need.

This card came together very quick and easy but I love the look of it with the soft fall colors.  I think this is a card that could be used for a man or woman.  It's also a great layout for an all occasion card--you would just need to change the sentiment.

Here is a close up look.  A little bit of stamping, die cutting and some flowers and pearls for embellishments.
All of the supplies are listed below.

I hope you have a Happy and Safe Halloween!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Thinking of You - Sympathy Card with Spellbinders and JustRite Papercraft

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a sympathy card to share with you.  I made this card awhile back for one of my husband's co-workers.

I love the soft colors of this card.  I used Simply Smooth White, Pink Lemonade, Sno Cone cardstock.  To create the die cuts I used S6-008 Exquisite Labels ElevenS3-207 Blue Bells & Lily of the ValleyS6-001 5 x 7 Matting Basics A die templates from Spellbinders® Creative Arts.

The sentiment is CR-03570 With Sympathy Clear Stamps from JustRite® Papercraft.  To color the flowers I used Copic Markers YG61 Pale Moss, RV10 Pale Pink and airbrushed the colors on to the paper.

Here is a close up of the flowers.  I used a piece of white sheer polk-a-dot ribbon from my stash to tie around the flowers and create a little bouquet.

To finish off the card I added a few pearls.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Birthday Wishes to You Card

Hello everyone and Happy Monday!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  It was a really nice weekend here in MN.  We had a busy weekend trying to get all of the outdoor and yard work done before the winter.  We got the garden all cleaned out and the trampoline down and packed away.  Just a little more to do and we will be ready.  Today, I have another project to share with you using some of the fantastic products from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

I designed a card using some of the beautiful papers from the  Melissa FrancesClassic Elegance 6 x 6 paper pad.  I love the papers in this collection!  I used a very light pink pattern paper to create the roses and the white and grey damask pattern paper for the background.

To create the flowers I used a combination of the S5-086 Bitty Blossoms and S5-050 Rose Creations die templates.  Here is a picture to show how I colored the flowers - (rose creation pictured).  As I mentioned I used some of the light pink pattern paper from the  Melissa FrancesClassic Elegance 6 x 6 paper pad to die cut the flowers.  Then I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spun Sugar.  Next I edged the flowers with the Spun Sugar  Distress Marker and the finish of the flower I very lightly inked the edges with the Worn Lipstick Distress Marker.

Here you can see the finished roses.  I added a bitty blossom to the center and then the rose creations on the outer part of the flower.  For the sentiment I used JustRite® Papercraft CR-04580 Birthday Vintage Labels Four Clear Stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  After I stamped the sentiment I used S2-043 Die D-Lites Frame Two to die cut the frame.  I used 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® to pop up the frame.  I also used S2-048 Die D-Lites Sprig die template to create the leaves.  Love this new Die D-Lite set--it is perfect to mix in with the flowers.  For some beautiful trims I used Melissa Frances Organza Pouf Ribbon - Pink and Melissa Frances Lace Trim - White along the bottom part of the card.  To finish off the card I added a few  Melissa Frances Pearls - Pewter to the card and the center of the roses.

I layered everything on the a grey mat and then on to a pink card base.  I used EZ Runner® Permanent Stirps-Refillable Dispenser 49'  to adhere all of the pieces.

Cameo Decorative Box - ButterBeeScraps

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a project to share with you using some of the fabulous products from ButterBeeScraps'.  But before I get to that I want to share some exciting news!!  Monique, owner of ButterBeeScraps' is having an open Design Team Call!!

If you love working with metal filigree pieces, charms, crystals, beads...you won't want to miss this DT Call!!  Check out the video below for all of the details.  Good Luck to everyone trying out!!

Ok, now for my project. ;-)

I altered a little gift box using some of the products from ButterBeeScraps'.

The box was originally ivory and I used white pigment ink to stamp the images and then heat set with Stampendous Fran-táge Embossing Powder-Shabby Blue.  I used a couple of the flourish stamps from the CR-04805 Ornate Corners Clear Stamps from  JustRite® Papercraft.  Then I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Antique Linen around the edges of the box.

For the drawer I stamped a couple of the flourished and embossed them.  Then I added Silver Oblong Filigree that was from the Small Halloween Embellishment Kit and an Ivory Resin Rose from the Small Shabby Chic Kit (sold out).  I also added a couple Melissa Frances Pearls Tan.  Then for the cameo I used  Large Copper Cameo Frames (Item #F623-C) and Large Sea Green Cameos (Item #CAM20-GN) from ButterBeeScraps'.  I used a combination of Patina Rub'n Buff, Pearl ex and Glossy accents to color the frame and cameo.  I also added AB Swarovski Crystals to the frame.  To create the feet I used Large Silver Filigree Beads (Item #BD060-P).

Here is a close up of the cameo, embossing, lace rosette and the top of the box.  I used hot glue with the lace to create the rosette.  The lace was from the Small Shabby Chic Kit (sold out).

Here is a close up of the top of the gift box.  I glued the lace in place then I added a bow made with White Seam Binding.  Next I added the cameo and the flowers with the beads and crystals.  To create the flowers I used  2 Acrylic Flowers from the Small Shabby Chic Kit (sold out) and Silver Filigree Embellishment (Item #834)-flowers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Don't forget to check out the DT Call video and Good Luck!!

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Happy Holidays Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is my first weekly blog post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I will be posting a new project every Monday morning.

Today, I have another Christmas card to share with you using pattern papers from the Graphic 45 Twelve Days of Christmas 8 x 8 paper pad.  This paper pad has so many beautiful images!  I fussy cut the main image and layered it with a decorative piece.  I used S5-194 Pearl Effects die template to create the die cut.

Here is a close up of the image.  I added a few KaiserCraft Rhinestones-Lippy Red to the image to look like berries.

Then I used Premium Craft Foils F-013 Jewel Tones (Red), F-014 Delicate Pastels (Green) along with the S5-055 Layered Poinsettia, S4-385 Little Leaf Sets die templates to create the poinsettia and holly leaves.  I layered the poinsettia pieces and I lightly sanded the foil to remove some of the color and let the silver show.  I added a KaiserCraft Sparklets-Rouge for the center of the poinsettia.  For the beautiful bow I used May Arts 1/2" Wrinkled Ribbon-Ivory.

To create the background layer I used pattern paper from the Graphic 45 Twelve Days of Christmas 8 x 8 paper pad and S5-131 A2 Matting Basics A die template.  I layered all of the pieces on to an ivory cardstock base.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store 12 Days of a CAS Christmas #6 – Merry Christmas Card

Hello everyone--I have some excited news to share with you today!

No Time To Stamp?

I am the newest member of The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Design Team!!
I want to say a HUGE Thank You to Sharon Johnson (owner/designer) for bringing me on the team!!!  I am so honored to be joining this amazingly talented group of ladies!!

This month the Design Team has been busy creating Clean and Simple Christmas cards to celebrate
The 12 Days of a Clean and Simple Christmas.

Here are the details:
We will be posting twice each day for the next couple weeks.

Our 8 AM EST post will be our usual daily post.  The designers can create anything they like for our morning posts, so you may see Christmas cards, but maybe not!  There are so many other card-giving occasions, we don’t want to forget about them, either!

Our 8 PM EST post will focus on Clean and Simple (CAS) Christmas cards.  As you likely know if you’ve hung around here much, our Design Team is FABULOUSLY talented!  Each designer has her own unique style.  That being said, what is Clean and Simple to one designer, may not necessarily be so to the next Designer.  And that’s what makes it fun — we will be seeing what each designer considers CAS to be, while still staying true to her own style.

If you missed any of the posts for The 12 Days of a Clean and Simple Christmas, hop on over to
Sharon's Blog--No Time To Stamp? and check out all of the fabulous projects from the Design Team!

Here is the card that I designed using KaiserCraft St. Nicolas 6-1/2'' paper pad and CR-03805 Noel Christmas Ornaments Clear Stamps-JustRite Papercraft from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I love the beautiful gold foil on the pattern paper.  I used Memento Dew Drop Dye Ink-301 Rhubarb Stalk to stamp the sentiment.

To embellish the card I wrapped  Burgundy May Arts 1.5" Sheer Wrinkled Edge Ribbon around the front of the card and then I added a Maya Road Velvet Pleats Red rosette and a couple of Maya Road Vintage Pins-Leaves.

To finish off the card I added a few KaiserCraft Lippy Red Rhinestones to the bottom corner.

Please be sure to check out all of the Fantastic products over at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Sharon has a wonderful selection of papers, stamps, ribbons, embellishments and accessories.  It's a one stop shop!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Saying Goodbye to my Sweet Onyx

Yesterday was so hard to say goodbye to my sweet Onyx.  I got him from the shelter when he was just two years old and I was lucky to have him in my life for 18 years.  Twenty years old is a long life for a cat and I like to think he had a very good life.  He was loved so much!!  He loved to be held and cuddle and he had such a strong purr.  I would hold him and he would lay his head on my shoulder and purr so loud--I will miss that.  He had so much personality and spunk!!  He was funny--he loved popcorn and Doritos and any time the can opener was going he would come running.  :-)

Onyx was part of our family and he will be missed so very much.

May you run free in the wildflower
and always feel
the warmth of the sun.

1993-2013

We love you!!!
Sweet Dreams♥

October Design-abilities Blog Hop - Trick Or Treat Wall Hanging

Hello and welcome to the first Design-abilities Blog Hop!  We are the Spellbinders® Blog Team and we wanted to do something fresh, fun and creative to bring our team together.  But before we get started we want to let you know this blog hop is just for fun and creative inspiration we are not sponsored by Spellbinders Paper Arts®.  Starting this month we are going to do a Blog Hop every other month (on the 16th) and we will have a link list to all of the Designer.  Sometimes we might not all be able to participate but we would still encourage you to visit all of the Blog Team Members and check out their blogs.  You will find all kinds of ideas for die cutting, papercrafting, mixed media, DIY projects, jewelry, home decor, lots of tutorials and techniques.  As designers we are always inspired by each other and we hope to inspire you too.

For my project I altered a 5 x 5 frame for Halloween.  I love to decorate for Halloween and this little altered frame is the perfect home decor piece.  I painted the frame with black acrylic paint.  Then I added a piece of pattern paper to the center.  I used S4-126 Classic Squares LargeS4-295 Lacey Squares die templates to die cut the cute little witch image.  All of the pattern paper is from the Authentique Thrilling 6 x 6 paper pad.  I used 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® in between the die cut layers.

I added a fun flower cluster in the top corner using some of the WOC Flowers in Halloween colors.  To create the leaves I used S2-049 Corner Sprigs.  The little leaf sprig die cuts are perfect to use with the flowers and the size of the leaves is just right.  I think this might be my favorite new die template set! I also added some diamond Stickles for a little sparkle.

On the side of the frame I added another flower cluster, some Black Seam Binding and a MB3-001S Circle Hatpin-Silver.  The image in the hatpin is also from the Authentique Thrilling 6 x 6 paper pad.  I also added a few beads to the hatpin.

To create the hatpin I used the MD1-007 Circles One die template to die cut the image.  Then I added a little glossy accents in the hatpin and added the image.  To top it off I added a clear epoxy circle sticker.  I have had these stickers for a few years and I am not sure which company they are from but I am sure if you do a goggle search these will pop up.

Here is a close up of the hatpin.

Please be sure to visit all of the Blog Team Members in the link list below to see what they have created to share with you.  Seth, wasn't able to join us this month but please hop on over and check out his blog too--he has some really inspiring designs!

Thank you for joining us today and we hope you enjoy the blog hop!  Please be sure to join us
December 16th for our next blog hop.

For my project I created a Christmas card with non-traditional colors to match the Really Reasonable Ribbon October Ribbon Club.  As soon as I got my ribbon I knew exactly what paper I wanted to use.  The October Ribbon Club assortment matches the My Mind's Eye Merry Little Christmas Collection perfectly!  I used the S4-401 2013 Heirloom Ornaments, S5-185 2013 Snowflake Pendant and S4-404 Create-A-Flake Five die templates from Spellbinders Creative Arts® to create all of the die cut shapes.  After I die cut the ornament I inked the edges with Memento Teal Zeal ink.  Then I layered the die cut snowflakes and added 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® in between the layers.

Here is a close up of the bow on top of the ornament.  I used some of the turquoise ribbon and white crochet trim from the Really Reasonable Ribbon October Ribbon Club.

To finish off the card I added some bling to the snowflake.

ButterBeeScraps DT Butterfly Filigree Bracelet and Video

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a project to share with you for ButterBeeScraps Design Team.  I am pretty exited to share this with you--one because I love how it turned out and two because I made a YT video for the project too!  I designed a bracelet using some of the beautiful filigree pieces from ButterBeeScraps. The past few months I have been sharing some of my jewelry pieces here on the blog and I hope you are enjoying them and getting inspired.  I have received several emails from people with different questions about the jewelry pieces and also that they are happy to see me creating jewelry.  What most people don't know is that I have actually been designing jewelry for several years.  I have noticed that over the past year or so blogs seem to be changing and people are offering new and different things on the crafting blogs.  So I have been adding a few different things such as jewelry, mixed media and home decor.  Don't worry, I am not leaving papercrafting behind--I Love papercrating!  I will still continue to share all kinds of papercrafting things here on my blog but I am going to throw a few new things in here and there and I hope you enjoy them.  ;-)

Here is the butterfly bracelet I designed using filigree pieces from ButterBeeScraps.

Here is a picture showing the before and after of the metal filigree pieces.  I used Antique White and Patina Rub'n Buff to add some color to the pieces.  I used Copper Filigree Embellishment (Item #553-C)Bronze Filigree Butterfly Embellishment (Item #887) and Silver Butterfly Filigree-currently not available but many other butterflies in the store to choose from.  I used a mix of copper, silver and bronze.  Mixing the metals is the trend right now and I have to say I love the look!  Before assembling the bracelet I applied Krylon Crystal Clear Satin to all of the filigree pieces.

I used G-S Hypo Cement and E6000 to bring all of the pieces together.  I did the bracelet in layers and holding the pieces together with little clamps until the adhesive was dry and set.

Here is a close up of the dangle and the butterfly charm.  I used Rhinestone Rondelle Spacer Beads (Item #BD010-P/CL) with some beads from my stash and a Bronze Miniature Butterfly Charms.  I also added some Antique White Rub'n Buff to the charm.

Here is a close up of the toggle.  I used Copper Toggle Clasps (Item #CL081-C) and I added some Patina Rub'n Buff.   The toggle is on the side--this makes it so much easier to put the bracelet on and the toggle is too pretty to hide.  I also used Silver Jump Rings.

I used some silver chain from my stash for the bottom part of the bracelet.

To finish off the bracelet I added some crystals from my stash.

I hope you will also check out the video and subscribe to my YouTube channel!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
