Bon Appetit Ensemble - March Guest Designer for The Rubber Cafe

Hello! I am so happy to be doing my first blog post as the Guest Designer over at The Rubber Cafe Blog!!

Link
I created an ensemble with a wine theme to share with you using some of my favorite products from The Rubber Cafe including stamps, glue and glitter.

I started with altering the coasters. I found these coaster at our local dollar store and they had a really pretty Fleur de Lis print on them. I thought the print was light enough that I would be able to stamp on them. I used one of the stamps from S-101 Bon Appetit using Timber Brown StazOn ink. Then I colored the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. To finish of the coasters I edged them with the Timber Brown ink.

Here is a close up of one of the coasters.

I altered four coasters for a nice little set.

Next I designed a decorative tag for the wine bottle.

I started with the tag and added a layer of old torn book pages with Mod Podge and then a layer of Gesso on top. Once the tag was dry I stamped images from the S-114 Vintage Treasures stamp set using Vintage Photo Distress ink. Then I layered Old Paper, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress inks on the tag and distressed the edges.

I stamped and colored the label from S-101 Bon Appetit with the same Prismacolor Colored Pencils and hand cut the label shape. Then I die cut another label shape using S4-301 Labels Sixteen from Spellbinders using black cardstock and then layered the two labels. I left some blank space on the label so I would be able to write a little message for gift giving. I also added Hanukkah Blue You're So Fine Glitter to the label. The ribbon is Hydrangea hand-dyed silk from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

On the bottom half of the tag I added a border using S5-078 Persian Accents die templates from Spellbinders. I edged the tag with glitter and added clear rhinestones (coming soon) and then I colored them using Copic marker V15 Mallow. I used Scrap Happy Sheer Glue to adhere the rhinestones and the Stick "EM" Up tool for perfect placement. I LOVE this little tool!! It's a must have!! I also added some leaves to the tag made from the S4-328 Foliage die templates.

For my last project I altered a mini canvas.

I used stamps from both of the same stamp sets mentioned above and randomly stamped them on the ivory cardstock to create the background and I inked the edges with the same Ranger Distress inks as the tag. The sentiment was printed on the computer and then I cut out the words and inked the little word block strips. The image of the wine bottle was colored exactly the same as the image on the coasters. I added 3D Foam Squares to the word blocks and the label for some dimension.

On the bottom of the canvas I added a border and leaves with a cork from a wine bottle. I used the same die templates as mentioned on the tag.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!

I hope you have a Wonderful and Creative Day!!

Hugs & Smiles,
