Crafty Secrets - Farm Chicks - Best of Cluck Card

Hello and Happy New Year 2011!! Sorry I have been away for a few days. My youngest and I have been pretty sick and we are still trying to get over it--that darn nasty bug just doesn't want to leave! Plus I have been busy working on some CHA stuff and sneak peeks--sorry I can't share just yet but I will say you are going to LOVE the New Products!! Today I have a Best of Cluck card to share with you--LOL! The stamped image of the rooster and the sentiment are both from the Farm Chicks stamp set from Crafty Secrets. This is a fun stamp set with roosters, hens, chicks, eggs and a party hat and cute sentiments. Click HERE to see the stamp set.To start I stamped the image of the rooster on to Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock from Discount Card Stock using Rich Cocoa Ink.Next I started to color the frame with Copic markers. I wanted to add a touch of aqua to the frame because it seems like in so many vintage images with roosters, country or kitchen stuff you see red and aqua together. I used the Copic markers shown in the photo to color the rooster. I think I can honestly say I have never colored a rooster--LOL! But I was happy with the outcome.I used the Grand Calibur™ and S4-305 Eyelet Squares #3 to cut/emboss the eyelet square with the rooster image. Then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink from Ranger. I threaded Brown Burlap String and tied it in a bow and the I added a few buttons. For the sentiment I used Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock and Rich Cocoa ink. I cut the sentiment out, distressed the edges and inked it with Vintage Photo ink. I used 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™ to layer the rooster image and the sentiment. To create the frame I used the Grand Calibur™ and S5-011 Scalloped Edge Frame. I cut/embossed the frame twice using Light Brown and Berry Red Double Mates cardstock from Discount Card Stock. I also cut/embossed a border for the side using the Grand Calibur™ and S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand die template. I inked the edges of the frame and border with Vintage Photo ink and added a piece of brown trim new to the border. The base of the card is paper from Crafty Secrets Radiant Paper Pad and I used stamps from Farm Chicks to create the background on the paper.
