The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Authentique CAS Dapper Birthday Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Today, I have a CAS (Clean And Simple) card to share with you.  I think this is the quickest card I have ever made and I used minimal supplies.

I needed a masculine birthday card and I knew the Authentique Dapper Collection 6 x 6 paper pad would make the perfect CAS card.  This paper pad is filled with cutout image so you would be able to create a lot of masculine cards.  I started with a white A2 top folding card base and added some of the pattern paper for the background.  I used the blue piece with little stars.  Then I layered it with another piece of the pattern paper with a grid background and the classic car image in the bottom right corner.

I used three of the cutout images from the paper pad.  I added Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares to the back of a couple images for some dimension.  To finish off the card I added a few My Mind's Eye Enamel Dots - Necessities Blues.

Like I said super quick card!  It's always nice to have the paper pads with cutout images for when you need a quick and CAS card.

I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog for lots of card inspiration from the design team.  All of the supplies used to create today's card can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Autumn Distress Oxide Ink Smooshing Card with Tutorial

Hello blogging friends!  I know on the calendar it's still summer but I have to tell you it's looking a lot like Autumn here in Minnesota--at least in my driveway lol.  The oak trees have let loose with the acorns!  Basically it's stand outside at your own risk lol.  My grandpa has always said if the acorns fall early we are in for an early and long winter.  I hope not but I guess we'll see.  Regardless of the calendar it's never too early to work on cards and craft projects for the next season.  Today, I have a pretty Autumn card and tutorial to share with you.

I finally had a chance to play with some of the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks.  I have to say I love them just as much as the first set--maybe even a little more lol.  The colors are so pretty in the second set.  For my card I used the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps Harvest SS-010 and Stamp Simply Steel Dies - Harvest SS-DIE006 from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

For the background I did the ink smooshing technique.  To start, apply Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Twisted CitronWild HoneyAbandoned Coral on to the Craft Mat.  Then, mist water on the inks using the Distress Sprayer Bottle.

Next, take a piece of  Ranger Watercolor paper and smoosh it down onto the ink.  I usually hold one of the corners and then press the paper down with my other hand.  Lift up the paper and then use a heat tool to dry the paper and heat set the inks.  This is what my paper looked like after smooshing it in the ink one time.

Repeat the process until you achieve the desired look.  Be sure to use your heat tool to dry and heat set the paper after each time of smooshing it into the ink.  I repeated the process probably about seven or eight times.  If you want you can also add more ink and mist again with water.

Next, I used the EK Success Powder tool on the background so I wouldn't have excess embossing powder sticking to the paper.  Then, I stamped the leaves using VersaMark Ink and heat embossed using Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  The background is so pretty and I didn't want to waste it so I stamped the leaves in the center of the paper so when I do the die cutting I can still use the paper.

Here are the leaves after I die cut them using the Stamp Simply Steel Dies - Harvest SS-DIE006.  Don't forget to keep the background piece.  It will be great for layering.

I applied the background piece to the card front and then I will cover it with a piece of kraft paper leaving a pretty border.

For the May Arts - Brown Burlap String I wrapped it around my fingers five times and then cut another piece and tied a knot to hold everything in place.

To assemble all of the leaves, string and flower I used hot glue.   First I put the burlap string in place.  Then I added the flower and finished with the leaves.  The flower is from the Petaloo Burlap Wild Sunflowers.  I used brown cardstock for the A2 card base.  To finish off the card I added a few Simple Stories We are Family Enamel Dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  All of the supplies used for today's card can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you would like to see more card inspiration check out the Stamp Simply Blog.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and tutorial.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Harvest Background with Oxide Inks and Gold Embossing

Hello everyone!  Today, I have a colorful Fall card to share with you using some of the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks.  I just can't get enough of the Oxide Inks!  They are so easy to work with and blend so beautifully to create backgrounds.

Here is the card I designed.  With the Oxide Inks and the  Stamp Simply Clear Stamps it is so fun to create your own pattern paper.

To start, I placed a piece of Ranger Watercolor paper on my Craft Mat with the smooth side up.  I used the Mini Ink Blending Tools to apply the ink.  I started with the lightest color and worked my way to the darkest color.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Fossilized AmberSpiced MarmaladePeeled PaintFired BrickVintage Photo.  After the first layer on inks and went back and blended more ink into the paper for a smooth blended look.

I used the Distress Sprayer Bottle to add water droplets to the paper and then I used a paper towel to blot up the excess water.  After achieving the look I wanted I used a heat tool to dry the paper.

After the paper was good and dry I used the  EK Success Powder Tool to go over the entire piece of paper.  The powder tool is great to use when you are heat embossing.  It keeps the embossing powder only where you stamp so you won't have excess embossing powder on your paper.

Next I stamped both of the leaves from the  Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Harvest SS-010 with VersaMark Ink.  Then I applied Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder and used my heat tool to melt and heat set the powder.  I just love how the gold embossing looks on the paper.

The sentiment I used is from the Harvest SS-010 stamp set and I used VersaMark Ink and Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder to heat emboss.  I cut the background piece down in size for a card front and then I added the piece of black cardstock with the sentiment.  Then I added some May Arts - Sage Burlap String and a Petaloo Botanica Collection Sugared Minis Gold/Sienna flower.

To finish off the card I added Foam Tape to the back of the card front and then I adhered that piece to a black A2 top folding card.

I hope you enjoyed today's card share and tutorial!  All of the supplies I using can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog where you will find lots of inspiration from the design team.

Happy Friday and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Watercolor Coneflower Card

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  Did you follow along last week with the New Releases from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store?  The release included two beautiful stamp sets for Fall and  coordinating die set.  In addition to those there are New Die Releases that coordinate with all of the stamp releases that have images to color.

For my card I used the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Thank You for Caring Coneflower SS-019.  I stamped the flower image on to Ranger - Watercolor paper using VersaMark Ink.  Then, I sprinkled on Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder and used a heat tool to melt and heat set the powder.

All of the watercolor was done using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  For the center of the flower I used Fossilized Amber and for the petals  Hickory Smoke.  Whenever you want to have white flowers you will need to do the shading in gray colors.  I know it might sound strange but the gray actually makes the flower appear white and really makes it pop.  For the stem and leaves I used Twisted CitronMowed Lawn, and Peeled Paint.  The background was done using Faded Jeans and Stormy Sky.  Then I used the heat tool to speed up the drying time on the paper.  To finish the background I used Black Soot and added paint splatters.  Then I dried the paper one more time and added water droplets.  I trimmed the watercolor paper down and added a black mat.  I used Foam Tape behind the watercolor piece to add some dimension.  The background paper is from the Wild Rose Studio - Dancing Daisies.  I added May Arts 5/8" Solid Plaid Olive Ribbon and My Mind's Eye Record It Charmed Enamel Dots.

To finish off the card I added the card front to a black A2 top folding card.  This is a really quick and easy watercolor card with no special techniques so it would be a great card to make multiples of.

I hope you enjoyed today's card share.  If you missed seeing the New Release last week I encourage you to visit the Stamp Simply Blog for lots of inspiration.  If you are looking for any paper crafting goodies be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Cornflower No Line Watercolor Card

Hello everyone and Happy Friday!  I am back to share my second card for the New 2017 Summer Release for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  If you have missed any of the days and would like to see what the designers have been creating click HERE to visit the Stamp Simply Blog.

For my second card I used the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Thank You for Caring Cornflower and the coordinating die set Cornflower SS-DIE004.

I started by creating the background for the card using the Mini Ink Blending Tools and - Fossilized AmberWorn Lipstick, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Inks.

Next, I used painter's tape to tape the Tim Holtz Flourish Layering Stencil on top of the blended ink background paper.  I applied the same colors of ink with the stencil to give a tone on tone look.

For the stamped image I wanted to try my hand at no line watercolor.  I stamped the image of the cornflower with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Antique Linen.  If you are doing no line watercolor you will want to stamp the image in a very light color ink.  Then, when you apply the color the stamped lines will blend in and pretty much disappear.

I used the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Fossilized AmberWorn LipstickSpiced MarmaladeCracked PistachioBroken ChinaWalnut Stain to watercolor the image.  Like I said this is my first attempt at the no line watercolor and I will say it does take a bit longer to do but I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  If you want to speed up the process you can use a heat tool to dry the paper.

I used the Stamp Simply Steel Dies - Cornflower SS-DIE004 to die cut the flower.

Here is a close up of the flower.  You can click the image to enlarge it and see even more detail.  I stamped a sentiment in the upper left corner of the background.  I trimmed the background piece down so some of the white card base would show on each side of the card.

I added some Mimosa Yellow Seam Binding with a bow and then I added a Petaloo Botanica Collection White Baby Blooms to the center of the bow.  I also added a few My Mind's Eye Record It! Follow Your Heart Enamel Dots for embellishments.

To finish off the card I added the background piece to a white A2 top folding card base.

I hope you enjoyed both of the cards I shared today.   Don't forget to check out the Stamp Simply Blog and all of the supplies used on my cards can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Sunflower Season Watercolor Card

Hello everyone!  Have you been following along with the Stamp Simply Blog and the designers for the New 2017 Summer Release week?  If you missed any of the days I encourage you to check out the Stamp Simply Blog to see some beautiful inspiration from the design team.

Today, I will be sharing two cards with you using the new stamp sets and coordinating dies.  My first card will be in this blog post and then I have a second blog post that will be going up this evening so be sure to check back.  The floral images in both sets are so beautiful and fun to color.  Both stamp sets also have several wonderful verses and sentiments.

Darsie, created a YouTube video sharing the New 2017 Summer Releases.

For my card I stamped the sunflower image from the  Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - Sunflower Season SS-018 on to a piece of Ranger - Watercolor paper using VersaMark Ink.  Then I sprinkled on some of the Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder and used a heat tool to melt and heat set the powder leaving a beautiful raised embossed sunflower.  To watercolor the image I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a Waterbrush.  For the flowers I used Squeezed LemonadeFossilized Amber, and Wild Honey.

To color the leaves and stems I used Twisted CitronMowed Lawn, and Peeled Paint.

For the background I did some ink blending using the Mini Ink Blending Tools and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks - Fossilized AmberPeeled Paint, and Broken China.  I thought this would be a pretty color combination for the background.

I used the Distress Sprayer to add some water droplets to the background.  I let it sit for a few seconds and then used a paper towel to blot up the water and used a heat tool to dry the paper.  I also used Walnut Stain Distress Inks to add some brown splatters on the card which you will see in the picture below.

I used the coordinating die Stamp Simply Steel Dies - Sunflower SS-DIE003Sunflower SS-DIE003 to die cut the sunflower.  It's so nice to have the coordinating dies and not have to fussy cut the image lol.  I added Foam Tape to the back of the sunflower for some dimension.

I stamped the word sunflower using Walnut Stain ink and then I stamped over it a second time using VersaMark Ink.  Doing this allows me to add Clear Embossing Powder and heat emboss the word.  Then I used the coordinating die to cut the word out.  I added some Foam Tape to the back of the word die cut and then adhered that to the card front at the bottom of the flower stem.

To finish off the card I added a bow using some of the May Arts - Yellow Burlap String and then I added a few My Mind's Eye - Record It! Charmed Enamel Dots.  The card front was mounted to a white A2 top folding card base.

I hope you enjoyed my first card for the day.  Don't forget to check back this evening to see the second card.  Also check out the Stamp Simply Blog to see all of the card inspiration from the New 2017 Summer Release.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
