Travel to Paris - JustRite Day 2 - Background Stamps Blog Hop!

Good morning blogging friends! It's day two of the JustRite Blog Hop with Background stamps! Today I have a project to share with you using CL-03650 Vintage Map Collage Background Stamp, CL-03565 Fleur De Lis Background Stamp, CL-02185 Bon Voyage and CL-02195 Greetings From Paris stamps from JustRite Stampers.

I designed a mini wall hanging with all of the stamps listed above and some layers of paper. I am so happy with how this turned out. I stamped the CL-03650 Vintage Map Collage Background Stamp on to Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock and I used several colors of ink and Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Then I did some distressing with inks and water and I also used the Distrezz-it-All on the edges.

I used LF-168 Grand Large Labels to cut/emboss the label shape and then I stamped the CL-03565 Fleur De Lis Background Stamp and flourishes in the corners.

Here is a close up.

For the frame I used S5-083 Antique Frame and Accents to create the die cut and then I layered inks, glossy accents and gold mica flakes.

Here is a close up of the frame.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy day two of the Blog Hop with the Background Stamps from JustRite!!

JustRite Background Stamp - In My Heart Card with Shrink Plastic Charm

Good morning blogging friends! Some of the JustRite Designers are doing a blog hop today to showcase some of the New background stamps. For today we are sharing projects made using CL-03555 Scrolled Vine Background Stamp, CL-03605 Harlequin Script Background Stamp and CL-03550 Vintage Wall Paper Background Stamp.

Here is the project I designed using CL-03555 Scrolled Vine Background Stamp, CL-03605 Harlequin Script Background Stamp and CR-03570 With Sympathy all from JustRite Stampers. I had some fun playing with shrink plastic and made the beautiful charm on my card.

To start I took a piece of shrink plastic and put a light coat of white Gesso on the top. Once the Gesso was dry then I stamped the images on the shrink plastic using Rich Cocoa ink.

I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils to add color to the image and then I used S4-353 Labels Twenty-Four die template from Spellbinders to cut the label shape. I inked the edges with Rich Cocoa ink and then I put the shrink plastic in the oven to shrink it.

Here is the shrink plastic after it came out of the oven. I put the quarter in the photo so you could see the size of the charm after it was shrunk.

After the charm cooled off I edged the label with a gold metallic paint pen and added Ivory Pearls from The Rubber Cafe to the corners. Then I covered the entire piece with Glossy Accents. Sometimes placing pearls and rhinestones can be kind of hard when they are so little so I use the Stick "EM" Up Tool from The Rubber Cafe for perfect placement. The tool grabs a hold of the pearl or rhinestone and allows you to place them when you would like. So quick and easy!

To create the background I started with a piece of Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock and I used CL-03555 Scrolled Vine Background Stamp and CL-03605 Harlequin Script Background Stamp. I stamped the Scrolled Vine first using Rich Cocoa ink. Then I stamped the Harlequin Script using Old Paper Distress ink. I inked the image first using Worn Lipstick. Then I added Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress inks to the outer edges. Once all of the inking was done I lightly misted the entire piece with water to help blend the inks. Then I put some water on my fingers and flicked them at the paper leaving water drops and giving it a more distressed look. To add to the distressed look I used the Distrezz-it-All to distress the edges.

Here is a close up so you can see the distressed look on the background paper.

I added a gold jump ring to the charm and then added a piece of Pink Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon to attach the charm to the card.

The sentiment is from the CR-03570 With Sympathy stamp set. I love the sentiments in this set, several of them can be used for cards/projects other then sympathy cards.

I added Ivory Pearls around the Scrolled Vine background and added the distressed background to a Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock base from Discount Cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial! Do you like to make charms or jewelry with shrink plastic? If it's something you have never tried I hope this has inspired you to maybe give it a try.

Please be sure to check out the link list below with the JustRite Designer and see what they have to share with you today. You won't want to miss of this eye candy!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a Beautiful Sunday!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Creating with Dimestore Vogue from Vintage Street Market

Hello blogging friends! Today is my post day over at the Vintage Street Market Blog and I have Linksome fun projects to share with you today. With Spring in the air I have been creating with a lot of pink, yellow and blue--pretty pastel colors.

I designed a quick and easy card with a touch of bling, an altered candy box and a tag.

I covered the top of the candy box with some of the pattern paper from Dimestore Vogue Paper Sheets & Tags. I edged the top of the box with a light blue mini ric-rac from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I added a decorative tag, a label and buttons all from the die cut sheet included in the Dimestore Vogue collection. Then I edged the sides of the box with a Azalea Satin Double Ruffle Ribbon, Emily white crochet lace trim and light yellow mini ric-rac from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

This is how the candy box looked before I altered it.

Then I added a cluster of flowers and leaves with a couple of trinket pins. I created the yellow roses using the pattern paper from Dimestore Vogue and the S5-086 Bitty Blossom die template from Spellbinders. The other flowers and leaves are from I am Roses.

I added Diamond Glitter from The Rubber Cafe to the flowers for a little sparkle and I used a few pieces of Linen Tinted Tape around the edges to the tag. In the top corner I added a pink and mimosa yellow seam binding bow. The seam binding is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Using tiny ivory pearls (coming soon) from The Rubber Cafe I added buttons to the dresses, an earring and a bracelet.

This little card is so quick and easy to make but I just love the look! I used a pink Bingo Craft Card and stamped a sentiment from CR-02230 Topsy Turvy Cakes from JustRite Stampers on the top, added a few large ivory pearls (coming soon) from The Rubber Cafe and added a rhinestone ribbon slider with some pink seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Easy peasy!

Love the sparkle!

For my last project I made a tag--this would be great to add to a gift bag or a card front. The tag is from the die cut sheet in the Dimestore Vogue collection. I stamped a sentiment at the top using one of the stamps from CR-03570 With Sympathy stamp set from JustRite Stampers and then added a piece of blue flower trim with ivory pearls in the center.

Next I added a die cut dress form with some vintage ivory and blue crochet lace trim and Pink Twirly Twine. For the bottom of the tag I added a rose and doily die cuts with some light blue double ruffle ribbon and Penelope Natural Crochet lace trim. To create the die cuts I used S5-088 Sewing Elements, S5-086 Bitty Blossoms and S4-345 Picot Edge Circles all from Spellbinders. I used Kraft, Frosted Pink Prismatic and Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock from Discount Cardstock for the die cuts.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a Fantastic weekend!!

Heidi

A Little Bit of This & That--Scrapbook Adhesves by 3L Packaging -Science Fair - Goodies from my Aunt Gail

Good morning blogging friends! I am so happy to see the sun shinning bright today! Yesterday was very cloudy and gloomy and kind of cool compared to the day before when it actually got up to 69 degrees!! It was wonderful--I even opened the windows.

Today, my post is going to be a little different with some fun things to share. A few month ago I was contacted by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L™ and I was asked about using a piece of my artwork for some packaging. Pretty Exciting! The New Product Dodz™ was released at CHA and now I can share a picture of the packaging.

See the pretty little flower--that's mine! ;-)

Here is a close up of the package.

The Dodz are a 3D Glue Dot that will add dimension to your crafting projects. They come 100 Dodz to a package--click HERE for more details!

This past weekend was the Science Fair. Our youngest son has been busy working on his project and board for the past few weeks (with some help from mom & dad). This year his project was--Are Permanent Markers Really Permanent?

He did a Fantastic Job and we are so proud of him!!

Conclusion--Yes for the most part permanent markers really are permanent except on glass, we were able to remove almost all of the markers from glass. The blue and green colors are easier to remove and hand sanitizer works the best to remove the ink.

He got a Blue Ribbon!! Proud mommy moment--just had to share!!

Ok, the next thing I have to share is some goodies from my aunt Gail. My aunt Gail does paper crafting and she also crochets--very talented!! I know I have received emails from several readers in the past asking if Gail has a blog and no she does not. But sometimes I get to show her creations here and all of the pretty little crochet flowers that I use for embellishment---you guessed it she makes those. I know I am very lucky!! Wait till you see the beauties I got from her the other day!!

Check this out! It's a vintage needle book and it still has a lot of the needles in it. Down in the bottom corner it doe say Japan but there is no date--wish I knew how old this was! I love the image!!

Here is the inside of the needle book.

Look at this beautiful crochet lace trim--OMGosh it's SO pretty!! It came from an old pillow case. Love the blue edging!

Vintage buttons--LOVE!!!

Black pom-pom trim. So many goodies it's like Christmas--LOL!

Now for Gail's creations...

A rainbow flower, a piece of lace trim and a fan shape--might use this piece for wings--can't wait to play!

How beautiful are these crosses? LOVE them!! So, so pretty!!

Check out these little beauties! I can't wait to use these crosses on projects--they will be great for so many things! A HUGE Thank You to my aunt Gail--I love it all!!!

So today's post was a little different but thanks for letting me share. Now I have to get busy--lots of projects to make in the next few day. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a Happy & Creative day!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

My Mind's Eye Be Happy Birds & Butterflies Card

Good morning blogging friends! Today, I have a pretty Spring card to share with you using papers from the My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart Be Happy collection.

I love the soft colors in this new Follow Your Heart Be Happy collections!

For the center image I used one of the Layered Stickers from the Be HAPPY collection. Then I made a decorative circle die cut using S4-354 Splendid Circles die template and layered the two pieces together. To create the roses I used some of the pattern paper from the Be Happy Collection and S5-086 Bitty Blossoms die templates. Using Scrap Happy Sheer Glue I added Diamond Clear Glitter to the layered sticker and the rolled roses and then I added a Clear Rhinestones (coming soon) to the center of each flower.

I used three of the little butterfly stamps from My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart Be Happy and Coral ink to stamp the butterflies. Then I used Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and added Diamond Clear Glitter.

On the bottom half of the card I used E8-007 Classic Edges One and E8-014 Classic Decorative Inserts Six to create the scalloped butterfly border. I added more Diamond Clear Glitter and Clear Rhinestones (coming soon) to the butterflies and along the border. I also added a little bit of Twine tied in a bow.

For the base of the card I used Gray #67 from Discount Cardstock.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful week!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Monster Jam Scrapbook Layout

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a fun scrapbook layout to share with you. Last month we went to a Monster Jam--it was Evan's first time going to an event like this and he was SO Excited!!

We have so many great pictures from that day!! The Cub Scout troop was able to get a really great deal on the tickets and we also got to go to the Pit Party! If you have never been to a Pit Party it's pretty crazy--you get to go down on the floor where all of the trucks and drivers are and you can take tons of pictures and get autographs from all of the drivers. This year is the 30th Anniversary of the Grave Digger so the event was HUGE and tons of people were there!!

I used S5-046 Banner Basics Three die templates and Echo Park Apothecary Emporium 6 x 6 Paper Pad to create the little flags. Then I used Green Apple Baker's Twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon and 3D Foam Squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to finish off the banners.

I used Royal & Langnickel Engraving Art Silver Foil along with S5-048 Sprightly Sprockets die templates to create all of the sprockets and gears and then I lightly sanded them to reveal the silver foil.

To create the faux film strips I used S4-132 Classic Rectangles Large die templates. I had so much fun designing this layout and Evan LOVES it!! ;-)

We have so many pictures from the Monster Jam you might be seeing a few more layout with the BIG Monster Trucks.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and creative day! Now I am off to clean my crafting area--OMGosh what a mess--LOL!! Are you a clean crafter or does it look like a whirlwind comes through when the creative juices are flowing?

Hugs & Smiles,
HeidiLink
