Today I have a really fun project to share with you. I first came across this sweet little candy shaker treat on the
Terri O. Crafters Forum. One of the supplies for making the shaker is plastic cookie cutters and a few days ago when I was shopping I found these great pastel spring shaped cookie cutters. As soon as I spotted them I remembered seeing a wonderful video tutorial that Terri O. had posted on the

After I came home I watched the video again and to my disappointment I discovered that the cookie cutters I had purchased were not the same style and they weren't going to work the same. The cookie cutters that
Terri O. used in the video had a lip or groove on the inside to hold the plastic in place and the ones I have don't have that. But they were so cute and springy and I wanted to use them so I came up with a different little spin on the cookie cutter shakers and it worked! Gotta love that! So I'm going to share my tutorial with all of you but please be sure to check out the

How cute is that? I think these would make great little holiday gifts and now you can find almost any kind of cookie cutter shape you would ever want so you could make them for any occasion. Here's the pretty spring cookie cutters that I purchased.
Ok, let's get started!
The fist thing that you will need to do is trace the shape of the cookie cutter on a piece of acetate (or if you are going GREEN then you can use some clear plastic from packaging or a plate or something similar).
Cut out the shape and then apply Beacon Gem-Tac adhesive on the edges of the acetate and place the acetate on top of the cookie cutter.
Once you have this done let it sit for a few minutes so the adhesive starts to set.
Then apply more of the Gem-Tac to the top of the acetate on the cookie cutter going all the way around the edges. Apply glitter and set aside to dry. By applying the glitter to the top this will cover up the edge of the acetate and give it a more finished look.
After the adhesive is completely dry then I punched a hole in the side of the cookie cutter using my Crop-A-Dile. I took a piece of pink ribbon and made a loop with a knot on one edge and threaded it through the hole in the cookie cutter.
Next I took a piece of pretty Spring colored designer paper from Crate Paper the Katlin Collection, Notebook and traced around the cookie cutter.
Then I cut out the flower shape a little larger and made little cuts into the paper going all the way around the edges.
I put the cookie cutter with the acetate face down and filled the inside with some candy. Then I took a tape runner and went all the way around the edges of the designer paper and placed the paper on top of the cookie cutter. I went around all of the edges pressing the paper down on the sides of the cookie cutter.
Once I had all of the little paper tabs pressed down on the cookie cutter then I took a piece of pink ribbon and ran it through the Xyron and then went around the edges of the cookie cutter with the ribbon to cover up the paper tabs and give it a cleaner look.
That's all there is to it!
I thought it was really cute but it still needed a little something so I made an Easter tag to match.
I wanted to use a couple of little bunny stamps from the
Crafty Secrets Easter Joy stamp set but I also wanted the tag to say Happy Easter so I thought the
Times New Roman 15 pt. font set from
JustRite Stampers would be perfect!
I used the
Harmony Classic Circle I 1-5/8'' wood mount stamper along with the
Times New Roman 15 pt. font set from
JustRite Stampers. The
Times New Roman 15 pt. font set comes with the NEW 2'' Wood Stamper as a Bonus. 
I started out by stamping the Happy Easter sentiment using Lovely Lilac ink from Stampin' Up and then I stamped the two bunnies in the center using Tsukineko Memento, Tuxedo Black ink. Then I took one of my nesties from the
Classic Circles Lg. S4-114 die template and taped it down on the outside edges to hold it in place. I used the Wizard to make my embossed diecut and then I colored in the images using
Copic markers. The
NEW 15 pt Times New Roman font set works wonderfully when you need a small sentiment and you want to personalize it. If you didn't want Happy Easter you could change it to Spring or have a variety of other sentiments. You could also add the name of the person you are giving the cookie cutter shaker treat to. So many possibilities!! I also used the
Classic Scalloped Circles Lg. S4-124 die template to make a mat for the back of the tag. Here is a picture of the backside once the tag was added.

I stamped the sentiment using Tusukineko Brilliance, Galaxy Gold pigment ink and then I heat embossed the sentiment using Gold embossing powder from Ranger. I lined up one of my Circle Nestabilities from the Standard Circles Lg. S4-114 die templates from Spellbinders and cut and embossed the circle diecut using the Wizard Die Cutting and Embossing Tool. Then I made two more diecuts using the Classic Inverted Scalloped Circles Lg. S4-194 and Classic Scalloped Circles Lg. S4-124 die templates. I also inked the edges of each piece using the Galaxy Gold pigment ink and I added foam tape to the back of the green scalloped diecut and to the white center diecut. 
To make the card front I did a technique called Reverse Stenciling. Click HERE to see a tutorial on Reverse Stenciling. Basically you ink the inside of the die before you make your sandwich with the mats and run it through the Wizard. On the light green cardstock I did the reverse stencil using the Rose Blossoms Edgeabilities S4-004 and the Borderabilities Petite Rose Border Sm. S4-164 die templates and Versa Magic Aloe Vera Chalk Ink. Then I took a cotton ball with the Galaxy Gold pigment ink and used the die template as a stencil while the cardstock was still in place to lightly ink the roses. 
For the two smaller rose diecuts I used Copic markers and the airbrush system to do the stenciling. The Copic markers are a little brighter and really make the roses pop! 
To finish off the card I added a beautiful golden yellow velvet ribbon to the bottom of the card and then I added a few pearls and some Ivory and Shamrock Green Flower Soft.
I added some ribbon and lace to the center and some buttons, dew drops and a prima flower for embellishments. I also stamped a flourish vine stamp from
