JustRite May Release Day Three - Botanical Postcards Background Stamp

Hello blogging friends!  Today is Day three of the JustRite May Release.  To see the New Release from Day One and Day Two you can click HERE to check out the JustRite Inspiration Blog.

I have two cards to share with you today using the New CL-04535 Botanical Postcards Background Stamp from  JustRite Papercraft.  Even though the coloring on these cards looks very different there is only one little difference in creating both of these backgrounds.

To start I colored directly on to the stamped image using Faber-Castell Gelatos.

These are all of the Gelatos I used and the colors are listed and linked in the supply list.

I lightly misted the stamp with water to activate the Gelatos.  Then I stamped the image on to Simply Smooth White Cardstock.

Now to achieve the second background (which was kind of a happy accident) I colored over the entire image with the Gold Gelato.  All of the original color (ink) was still on the stamp and I applied the Gold Gelato going over one color at a time and then using a baby wipe to clean the Gelato in between colors.  I misted the stamp with water and then stamped the image.  I love the outcome of the second background!  I would also love to try this with a Silver Gelato just to see if there is a different result.

So basically I stamped the image with the first coloring and then applied the gold over the color to get a second generation stamping with a totally different look.

These are a few images of the first card.

On the second card I added Black Gelato on to the corner die cuts.  I used S2-009 Fantastic Flourishes Two die templates from Spellbinders Creative Arts™ to create the die cuts.  You can see on the first die cut I applied the Black Gelato and then on the second die cut you can see what it looks like when the Gelato is rubbed in, it really makes the embossed areas pop.

Here are some images of the second card.

The CL-04535 Botanical Postcards Background Stamp is such a beautiful stamp and I love how quick and easy it is to achieve two totally different looks for the background using Faber-Castell Gelatos.

Please be sure to visit each of the JustRite Papercraft Design Team Members in the link list below to see what they have created to share with you.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a beautiful day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

  3. Heidi, these cards are stunning and so inspirational. They gave me so many ideas for using my large background stamps. Don't have any gelatos, but do know how to do the direct to stamp method with markers. I love the added corners. They add such a special touch to the image. Hugs Lori
