  1. My favorite Halloween tradition is really my neighbor's. She has donuts and cider on her front porch (which she and her husband serve in costume) for trick or treaters and parents.

  4. I love Halloween cause the houses are decorated again, there is a nip in the air, the special smells of a wood burning fire, mulled apple cider and the sounds of children laughing. All is well in my world!

  8. What I love most about Halloween is the innocent fun that this holiday brings to children. What can be more fun than playing dress up for the purpose of coming home with a big bag of candy? The excitement of the children still warms my heart, every single year.

  9. I just love everything about Halloween. The decorating, all the kids in costume, the trick or treating, carving and lighting jack o lanterns, the excitement of preparing and waiting for Halloween. I could go on and on. I always make a big pot of Chili and have all kinds of treats and cider. Thanks for a chance to win.

  10. Halloween is the best season of the year. It is natures decoration or the grand slam of the summer. The smell in the air, the crisp mornings until the sun wakes up, with the frost on the pumpkins and the dew in the spiderwebs. Nature decorate itself in all of its glory.
The children get ready for the fun night with excitment and imagination as to how to present themselve to tour the evening of the great all hollos eve. Everyones yard is set in all their finest to feel the ghost of the past and prestent. BEWARE they all cry for the night of Halloween.

  11. to me the best part of halloween was and still is picking the costume. i'm not talking about going out and buying a premade one. i mean thinking of what to wear and how to make it. ine year we were transformers. we took big boxes and cut and painted them. one was a jet the other was a garbage truck. on the intake manifold of the jet we put the speakers that we played the theme song from. another time we went as mimi, mini mimi, and drew carey. the fun of that was trying to find matching gaudy clothes in my size xxl 5'10", and mini's in size 10 xxshort less that 5 feet. we matched everything. we even had a laugh in the changing room. we went in with 3 or 4 dresses and said which we were trying on and we came out with one, a lady in there said "my those are pretty" that's all it took... we both shook are heads and laught and got the next outfit. pretty was not the look we were going for. that was the funniest outfit ever by the time we finished. we even had a local avon manager volunteer to do our make-up/over. she was laughing so hard she could barely finish. so those are two of my most memorable costumes. even as a child i loved it. one year i took a garbage bag and put campaign stickers from all parties on it and wore that. how did i know as a 12 yr old that most politics was just trash? well thanks for the chance to win. and congrats to who ever the winner is!

  15. Oh my, your blog candy is a real SCREAM! Love it! Halloween is my favorite time of year. Maybe it was because I was born around 1am the day after. Anyway I've always been told that the witches brought me. My favorite thing to do is decorate and then decorate more, make Halloween dishes and lots of spooky candy. And don't forget to make all those spooky cards. Happy Howloween!!!!

  17. (already a blog follower) My favorite halloween "thing" is actually remembering when my kids were little. i made costumes from things around the house. or sewed them myself. it was so much fun. i don't think i ever purchased a costume for any of the 3 kids. now i'll have to try my ideas out on the grandkids.

  23. Great candy. i'm already a subscriber. Halloween is my second favorite time of the year behind Christmas. I decorate my house inside and out to the hilt. Then the grandkids help make sugar cut-out cookies and make a big mess with frostings and sugars and sprinkles. Happy Halloween and thanks for the chance to win the blog candy. mollypolley at gmail dot com

I traditionally host my bridge card club in late Oct. I enjoy "spooking" up my house and try to change the theme for my score pads & table rotation cards each year as well as the foods I serve (e.g.: this year my theme is taken from a Stampendous stamp "Quoth the Raven nevermore" & dessert will be a pumpkin cheesecake with a spiderweb design on the top).
