Spellbinders - Grand Nestabilities Purse

Good morning! I can't believe it's already Monday morning. I hope you had a fantastic weekend! Today, I have a fun altered project to share with you. I created a purse using the New Grand Calibur™ and Grand Nestabilities™ die templates from Spellbinders™. The inspiration for the purse came from Mona Pendleton, she created a beautiful paper purse for Spellbinders™ at the last CHA show. I just loved the little purse and thought these would make great gifts and can be filled with a set of handmade cards, a gift card, jewelry or candies--so many possibilities! I am not sure what Mona used for the base/body of her purse but I used a template that I had from several years ago. At one time the template was on Splitcoast Stampers (I'm sure it's still there) but I am not sure what it was called or who created it--it's been several years ago. But I can share the measurements with you. To create the base/body of the purse take a full sheet of cardstock (8-1/2'' x 11'') and score both sides 1-1/2" and 11''. Then score at the top and bottom at 4-1/2'' and 8-1/2''. Cut the center flaps on each side, then fold together and use a strong adhesive to adhere the sides. For the front, back and top of the purse I used the New Grand Nestabilities™ from Spellbinders™. On the front and back I used the Grand Calibur™ and LF-161 Grand Labels One. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye. For the top I used the Grand Calibur™, LF-114 Grand Circles and LF-124 Grand Scalloped Circles from Spellbinders™. Before piecing everything together I inked the edges of the paper with Tuxedo Black ink. I use a slit punch to make holes for the purse strap and attached it to the inside. I used a piece of fancy velvet trim for the purse strap and added some swirly rhinestones to the front and a magnet for a closure.

Supplies
Paper: My Mind's Eye, WorldWin Black and Ivory
Ink: Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
Dies & Punches: Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur™, LF-161 Grand Labels One, LF-114 Grand Circles, LF-124 Grand Scalloped Circles
Accessories: Joann's Velvet Trim, Swirly Rhinestones; SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™ Crafty Power Tape; Scor Pal

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful beginning to a new week!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
