Crafty Secrets - Birds & Blossoms - Wall Hanging

Hello! How are you doing today? I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We spent a good part of the weekend doing back to school shopping. Surprisingly it went very smooth and we found some amazing deals!!

Today, I have an altered box top that I made into a wall hanging to share with you. I was going to alter the box and then I decided to take the box apart and use the cover for a wall hanging and then I am going to use the base for a shadow box. This is what the box looked like to start out. It was raw wood and I painted a couple of coats of paint using DecoArt Bleached Sand Acrylic Paint. Here is what I created. I love how this wall hanging turned out. The beautiful images are from Birds & Blossoms Creative Scraps from Crafty Secrets. The large piece in the background is from the inside of the Creative Scraps sheet and the smaller image of birds is also from the Birds & Blossoms Creative Scraps. I love the colors, it's perfect for Fall. I sprayed the box and the chipboard frame with three colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and then I airbrushed it with Copic marker E27. The frame is a piece from Sweet Chips Chipboard Die Cut Shapes by Crafty Secrets. Then I edged the frame using a gold metallic marker. Here is a side view of the wall hanging. Here is a close-up of the frame. I also added metal decorative corner pieces to the frame. The decorative corner pieces are brads from Karen Foster and I removed the backs and glued in place.I added a cluster of moss, leaves and berries in the upper and lower corners. This wall hanging came together so quick and easy. It's a great way to make a little home decor piece for yourself or to give as a gift.
