Julie K, can you please send me an email (Floralfantasy@charter.net) with all of your contact information so I can give it to Sandy. Congratulations on winning the $30.00 Gift Certificate from Crafty Secrets!!!

Thank you so much to everyone that visited my blog and all of your wonderful comments! I really appreciate it and it's always so much fun to read all of the comments and wonderful things about a company I love to work with! And what about the Crafty Secrets DT Ladies--they totally ROCKED on the tutorials!!!

I have a fun new project to share with you today, it's a purse that I altered. My mom gave me this tiny little purse and said have fun creating! Here is a picture of the purse before I started altering it.

To start out I sprayed Vintage Pink, Red Velvet and Black Gold Glimmer Mist on the purse until I had the desired color and then set aside to dry. Once the purse was dry then I took out my Girl Time Cotton Scraps and cut out an image to use on the front of the purse.
I noticed in the comments from yesterdays post several of you made comments about the Cotton Scraps. I really love working with Cotton Scraps, they are easy to use and can be a lot of fun for so many crafters, not just card makers and scrapbookers. The Cotton Scraps come in one large cotton sheet with several images and themes and they have a slightly sticky back paper. They do not have adhesive on them, the paper backing just makes it easier to cut the cotton. You can use a variety of adhesives and embellishments to apply Cotton Scraps to your project and if you like to sew, quilt or make clothing you will also love Cotton Scraps. I have used brads and eyelets for embellishments and my favorite adhesive is a liquid from Beacon called Fabri-Tac. You can find Fabri-Tac at Joann's, Wal-mart and most craft and hobby stores. Fabri-Tac is fast drying, permanent, washable after 24 hrs and dries crystal clear. It also works great for lace and trim.

Here is a close-up of the piece of Girl Time Cotton Scraps, Party Girl.

I also sprayed a little Snow Angel and Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist on the Cotton Scraps, let it dry and used Fabri-Tac to adhere it to the front of the purse. The Party Girl image had a crown so I thought it would be good to add some Bling! Everybody needs a little Bling, right?!

The felt flowers are from Creative Impressions. They were originally a light pink and I used Vintage Pink and Red Velvet Glimmer Mist to darken them up a bit so they would match the purse better. I also added an antique button to the center of the flower.

Smiles!

  4. Hi Heidi:

Would you mind sharing where one can get the Labels Seven S4-231 and Large Labels S4-168 that you used when you made the book plates that you posted in early October? I LOVE your idea and plan on creating them for stocking stuffers for all of my book worm friends! Thank you for sharing.
