Crafty Secrets Christmas of Joy, Copic & Embossing

Wow, I know that was a lot for a title! I have been playing around with both of the NEW Christmas Stamp sets from Crafty Secrets that were just recently released, Christmas Joy & Snow Bunnies. The Christmas Joy stamp set has so many different possibilities!! You can design the Christmas ornaments in many different ways, make lights & garland just to name a few things. The Snow Bunnies set is so darn cute, those little bunnies are just adorable!! Here is one of the cards that I made yesterday with the Christmas Joy stamp set. Also I used the NEW Mega Nestabilities Curved Rectangles from Spellbinders to make the card shape.
I have had this idea for this card in my head since I first seen the stamp set! Do you ever just look at a stamp or a stamp set and your head is flooded with ideas? Well that's how this one is for me! *wink* As I was working on the ornaments I was thinking I would love to have some gold embossing on the ornaments but I also wanted to color them in with Copic markers and as many of you know Copic markers and EP don't mix too well together. But then I got to thinking, I'm using clear stamps...hmmm maybe I can stamp over the image once it's all colored in and emboss it! Guess what it worked!! I'm sure other people have tried this and discovered the same thing but this was a first for me and I am very happy with the outcome! Doing this does take a little extra time, trying to line the stamp back up and mine didn't turn out perfect I have a couple of spots where it didn't line up but I wasn't going for perfection I was just having fun playing around. Here is a close up of the ornaments. This is what I did on the ornaments, first I stamped them using Memento Ink and then colored them in with Copic markers and I stamped over them again using VersaMark Ink and Gold EP and heat set.For the pine branch I stamped several of the pine sprigs onto the white mat and then I also stamped a few of them and cut them out and then layered them over the ornaments and added some liquid applique'.Using the Essential Glue Pad I stamped some snowflake images and added some diamonds glitter.Supplies~

  5. Wow- its been a long time since I have seen some of your awsome work( you probably don't remember me).
    All of this is great.
I noticed you said that you can not use embossing powder & copics. I wonder why - I thought it would work. Anyway- thanks for sharing & especially explaining the "how-to".
