Altered Burlap Clutch and Altered Painter's Cap with the Shabby Chic Loop Flower

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a couple of fun crafting projects to share with you.  Over the weekend I took a little time to create just for me--it doesn't happen very often lol!

These are the two projects I made--an altered burlap clutch and a altered painter's cap.  I did these projects just for the fun of it so I am sorry I don't have a tutorial with any step shots or instructions but I have two videos you can check out if you have a couple of minutes.  Both of these projects were inspired by a couple of ladies on YouTube.  The shabby chic loop flowers on both projects was inspired by Trisha and this is her video--Shabby Chic Loop Flowers.  Her tutorial is fantastic and these are so fun and easy to make!   The only thing I changed on my flowers is that I added some lace from my stash and some burlap leaves with a little bit of diamond stickles from Ranger.  I started with a piece of lace and glued that to the felt circle first and then added the the loopy cotton material to create the flower.  The inspiration for the altered burlap clutch is from Marisa and here is her video--Altered Burlap Clutches.  My clutch is a little different and it was an olive green color.  So I covered it with gesso and then completely covered it with lace, rosette trim, pearl trim and a shabby chic loop flower but the inspiration came from Marisa.

I just LOVE how this turned out and I had so much fun!

Here is a close up of the Shabby Chic Loop Flower.  I added a vintage rhinestone button to the center and I fussy cut some leaves from a Olive Green Burlap Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Then I added a little bit of diamond stickles to the lace trim and the leaves.

Here is a close up of the charms and beaded pearl chain I added to the zipper pull.  I also added some Cream and Leather Tan Seam Binding.  I lightly misted the seam binding with water, crinkled it up and dried it with my heat tool  so the crinkles would stay in the seam binding.

At the top of the clutch I added some rosette trim with diamond stickles and then I added some pearl trim.

For the painter's hat I added a shabby chic loop flower with some lace from my stash, natural burlap for the leaves and diamond stickles for a little sparkle.  I used a small flower metal shape and a flat back pearl.  The metal embellishment is from ButterBeeScraps

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a creative day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi
