The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Botanical Garden Watercolor Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I have a card to share with you that is an easy watercolor and would work for all occasions by simply switching out the sentiment.

Here is the card I designed using a sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps SS-Sent004 Deepest Sympathy and the beautiful images are from the Altenew - Botanical Garden Clear Stamps. I stamped the images on to Ranger Watercolor Paper using  Versamark Ink.  Then I added Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder and used my heat tool to melt the powders.  To create the look of watercolor I used three Tim Holtz Distress Inks  Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters, and Tumbled Glass.   I would call this a very loose watercolor card meaning it doesn't have to be perfect or stay within the lines.  If you are new to watercolor this would be a really good technique to try.  I started by adding water to my paper so as soon as the colors from the ink hit the paper they willl flow and blend very easily.  I started by adding a good amount of water to the color so the colors would be very pale.  Then I used my heat tool to speed up the drying process.

I did a couple layers of the pale colors drying in between the layers and then I added a couple more layers with a bit darker colors.  To do this I used the same ink colors and just added less water.  Once I was done I made sure the paper was good and dry and then I added water droplets on to the paper.  I let them sit for a few seconds and then used a paper towel to blot them off.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps SS-Sent004 Deepest Sympathy using Versamark Ink and heat setting with Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Velum.  The Velum was a bit longer than the paper so I folded the ends behind that paper and adhere it to the back so there wouldn't be any adhesive showing in the front.  Then I added a couple thin strips of black cardstock.

I added Therm-O-Web Foam Squares to the back of the watercolor piece and then added that to a black A2 top folding card base.

Like I said you could create this card for all occasions by simply switching out the sentiment and it's a quick and easy watercolor card.

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you have a happy Friday!

Tonic Studios - Cherish the Moment Shape Card

Hello everyone!  I don't know about you, but I love dies that can be used to create shape cards.  Today I will share with you how to create a shape card using the 1228E Sew Pretty Cherish the Moment Rectangle Frame die set.

To create the base of the shape card I used white cardstock and the largest die template in the 1228E Sew Pretty Cherish the Moment Rectangle Frame die set.  I wanted to create a top folding card so I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4-1/4 x 11 and scored the paper at 5-1/2.  Then I taped the die template in place so the cut edge of the die was over the fold of the card base.  I used the 147E Tangerine Machine die cut the shape.  Then I used the largest die and the decorative filigree piece and die cut that from white pearl cardstock.  I used 419E Craft Tacky 120ml to adhere the card base and the decorative pieces together.  I die cut the sentiment from gold mirror cardstock and added that to the center of the card.

Next I used green pearl cardstock and the center die from the 1163E Floral Fancy Decorative Mini Die Set to create the decorative flourish piece.  Then I fussy cut the ends of the die cut to used the flourishes as small accent pieces.  To create the butterflies I used blue pearl cardstock and 530E Layering Butterflies Set 1 - Papillon Pair.  In the photo you can also see all of the decorative details from the pinhole pattern on the die cut.

I used pink pearl cardstock and the 770E Entwinning Trellis Radiant Roselily Die Set to create the flowers.  For each flower I die cut two flower shapes from the three smallest flowers in the die set.  To shape the flowers I misted the front and back of the paper with water.  Doing this will help to break down the fibers in the paper and soften it so it is a lot easier to shape. Then I used the Floral Crafters Tool Set 380 - 266E to shape and curve the flowers.  You can let the flowers air dry or use a heat tool to speed up the process.  Once the flowers are dry I layered them using the 419E Craft Tacky 120ml glue and offset the petals.

Once the flowers were done I added them to the card front and then added the butterflies.  Here you can see the dimension the flowers and butterflies add to the card.  I used 675N US Crystal Drops - Ivory Seashell to create faux pearls on the flourishes and then I also used it for the body of the butterflies and the flower centers.

Thanks so much for joining me today!  I hope you enjoyed the card I shared.  Take a look at your dies and see what kind of fun shape cards you can create.

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Tonic Studios - Dreams, Wishes & Fairy Kisses Card and Tutorial

Hello blogging friends!  Today, I have a pretty Springtime and glittery fairy card to share with you.  I am loving all the pretty little fairies in the Fairy Reflections Die and Stamp Collection.  As an added bonus there is also a coordinating paper pack.

Here is a look at the card I designed using the fairy 1306E Aurora Reflections Stamp and 1206E Aurora Reflections Die Set.  I also used 483E Scalloped Circles Layering Die Set524E Pinhole Circle Die Set,112 0E Filigree Flourish Die Set, and 1055E Fairy Wishes Illustrated Paper Pack.

To start I stamped the 1306E Aurora Reflections Stamp using VersaMark ink on to Strathmore mixed media paper.  Then I added 600N Embossing Powder - Classic Gold and used my heat to to melt and heat set the powders.  I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens to watercolor the image.  The colors are listed below in the supplies.

Next I die cut the fairy shape using the silhouette die from the 1206E Aurora Reflections Die Set.  No fussy cutting!  The die cuts that fairy shape perfectly.

I used one of the sentiments from the 1055E Fairy Wishes Illustrated Paper Pack.  To die cut and add some details to the dies cut shape I used the 483E Scalloped Circles Layering Die Set and 524E Pinhole Circle Die Set.  When using these dies you will want to die cut the scalloped circle first and then you can match up the pinhole circle die to add the detail.  For all of the die cutting I used the  147E Tangerine Machine and Bag Set and I also used the 160E Tim Holtz - 8" Comfort Guillotine/Trimmer to cut all of my paper pieces.

I used the NUVO 203N Glue Pen Medium and 705N US Pure Sheen Diamond Glitter to add some sparkle to the fairy and the flowers in the die cut sentiment.

For some finishing touches on the fairy and sentiment die cuts I added some 651N Crystal Drops Gloss - White to look like some white pearls.

I also used the 112 0E Filigree Flourish Die Set to cut a couple of floral flourished to add on the bottom and right side of the card.  I used the same Strathmore mixed media paper and  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens to color the die cuts.  I used a sheet of pattern paper from the Simple Stories Color Vibe 6 x 6 Paper Pad and added that to a pink cardstock base.  I also added some green May Arts ribbon and sequins from Cartwright Sequins & Beads.

I love all the sparkle from the glitter and sequins.

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed the card tutorial.

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Tonic Studios - Have a Beautiful Day Card

Hello everyone!  Earlier this week we celebrated my mom's birthday and this is the card I made for her.  This was also my first card using the New NUVO Creative Pen Collection.  The Creative Pens are a blendable alcohol based pen from Tonic Studios.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  For the dies I used 1120E Filigree Flourish Die Set, 1227E Have a Beautiful Day Circle Frame530E Layering Butterflies Set 1 - Papillion Pair524E Pinhole Circles Layering Die Set, and 483E Scalloped Circles Layering Die Set.

To create the circle die cuts I used pink cardstock with the 1227E Have a Beautiful Day Circle Frame to die cut the larger scalloped circle.  For the smaller circle I used both the 483E Scalloped Circles Layering Die Set and 524E Pinhole Circles Layering Die Set.  When using these dies you will need to die cut the scalloped circle first and then use the pinhole circle die to add the details.  The Have a Beautiful Day sentiment is also from the 1227E Have a Beautiful Day Circle Frame.  I used white cardstock to die cut the sentiment and then colored it with the NUVO Creative Pen Collection - Supreme Metallics 506 (gold).

For the butterfly I die cut white cardstock using the 530E Layering Butterflies Set 1 - Papillion Pair die set and then I used the NUVO Creative Pen Collection - Rosey Pinks 453, 451, 449 pens to color the butterfly.  I die cut a couple of flourished using white cardstock and the 1120E Filigree Flourish Die Set.  Then I colored the die cuts with the NUVO Creative Pen Collection - Rosey Pinks 453, 451, 449, and Woodland Greens 417, 413.  I wanted to add some sparkly to the butterfly and flourishes so I used the 203N NUVO Glue Pen Medium and added some Pure Sheen Glitter - 705N US Diamond.

For some finishing touches I added Crystal Drops - 675N US Ivory Shell around the scalloped circle die cut, flower centers, and the body of the butterfly.  I also added some tiny white acrylic flowers and for the centers I added Crystal Drops - 682N US Bottle Green.  I fussy cut one of the flowers from the flourish die cut and then added that above the sentiment.  I also added a few sequins from Cartwright Sequins & Beads.

I added some foam tape in between the layers to add a little more dimension to the card.  For all of the die cutting I used the 147E Tangerine Machine and Bag Set and I used the 160E Tim Holtz - 8" Comfort Guillotine/Trimmer for all the paper cutting.

Thanks so much for joining me today!
I hope you enjoyed the card I shared and I hope you have a creative day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and Altenew Stamps- Sending You Blessings Vintage Rose Card

Hello blogging friends!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a beautiful card to share with you using one of the sentiments from a  Stamp Simply Clear Stamps set and the Vintage Rose Clear Stamps from Altenew.  I have to tell you I was so excited when I found out Sharon, owner of The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store was going to be carrying some of the Altenew stamps!  The stamp sets are so beautiful and they have several multi-step stamping sets and coordinating die sets.

Before I share the card I designed I want to share a little tip with you.

When you receive the Altenew stamps they are all connected and you have to use a wire cutter or snips to cut them apart.  On the front of the packaging it show how the dies match up with the stamps.  But once they are all cut apart it makes it a little harder to tell what is what at a quick glance.  So I used a sharpie marker to write numbers on my dies and then I did the same thing on the front of the packaging.  Now with a quick glance I can match up the dies with the stamped images.

Here is a close up.  Also after you have cut apart your dies if you have any rough edges you can sand them with an emery board or a file to smooth.

Here is a look at the card I designed.  I know it might look like it took a lot of time to create but it really didn't.  It was mostly just stamping and die cutting.  I used one of the sentiments from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - SS-Sent007 Blessings/Beatitudes 1 .  For the beautiful roses I used the Vintage Rose Clear Stamps from Altenew and I also used the coordinating Vintage Rose Dies from Altenew.

Before I started stamping and die cutting the roses I used some of the DecoArt - Metallic Lustre Gold Rush to create the splatter background on the blue mat piece for the card.  I just took a small amount of the DecoArt - Metallic Lustre Gold Rush and placed it on my craft mat and then added water to it.  I tapped on the paint brush to get the splatters and then set that piece aside to dry.

Here is a close of of the roses.  This stamp set is so gorgeous and I love the multi-layers used to create a beautiful and detailed image.  I also used the Spellbinders - Labels Twenty-Nine for the sentiments and a couple of layers in the card.  For the sentiment I heat embossed it using Ranger Super Fine Detailed Gold Embossing Powder.  I also used  Bazzill Metallic Gold Cardstock for the second label die cut.

I used Therm-O-Web Foam Squares for all of the roses and leaves to add some dimension to the card.  I laid out all of the die cuts on my card so I could see where I wanted to place them and then I took a quick picture with my phone to be able to use as a reference.

I hope you enjoyed today's card!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I hope you have a wonderful and creative weekend!

Saying Goodbye...

Hello blogging friends!

Some of you might have seen the recent post on Facebook that JustRite Papercraft was having a Design Team Call.  The new owners of the company thought it was time for a change and they wanted to do a design team call.  We were all invited to reapply and as much as I love my fellow design team members and the products I have been with the company for several years (8 yrs) and I decided it was time to step down so someone else could have an opportunity to be on the design team.

We had an amazing run and I am so very thankful to Kellie Fortin and Amy Tedder for their friendship and all of the fabulous designs, inspiration, and products over the years.  These two ladies are beyond fabulous!!  I am also thankful for my fellow Design Team Members--these are some of the most talented and amazing women I know!!  We have built life long friendships and honestly our group was/is so close they feel more like sisters.

I also want to say a HUGE Thank You to all of YOU who have been fans of JustRite Papercraft and have been following my blog through the years!!  Thank you for all of your support and wonderful comments--it truly mean more to me than you will ever know!!

**EDIT**--Just so everyone knows this isn't goodbye forever--I will still be doing all of my other design work.  I just won't be designing for JustRite Papercraft.  Sorry for the confusion--I wanted to clear this up.  I received a few emails today and some people thought I meant I was done designing for good.  :)

Some of my favorite and recent JustRite Papercraft cards.

But as one chapter closes it's time to start another one.  I have something I have been working on for a while and I am SO excited about it BUT I can't post it just yet.  So stay tuned! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - Painted Flower Just for You Card

Hello Blogging friends!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I have a quick and easy card to share with you using one of the sentiments from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - SS-Sent001 Wedding Wishes and Altenew - Painted Flower Clear Stamps.  One of the things I love about the Altenew - Painted Flower Clear Stamps is that you have a couple of different options with this set.  You can do the multi-step stamping to get the beautiful layers of color for the images or you can do just the outline.  I have plans for an upcoming card with just the outline images. :)

Here is a look at the card I designed.  Another thing that I love about this stamp set is how easy it is to line up BUT if by chance you don't get it lined up exactly that's ok too--it still looks fantastic!  I started with a white card front and stamped the images of the flower using Altenew - Shaded of Purple - Lavender Fields and Deep Iris for the flowers and Memento - New Sprout and Bamboo Leaves for the leaves.  Then I went over the images with the outline stamp using Memento - Black Tuxedo ink. Then I inked the outer edges with Altenew - Shaded of Purple - Soft Lilac ink.  I am also really loving the Altenew inks.  When you stamp with them the color is a bit darker and sometimes the image might look a little splotchy but as the inks dry the color smooths out and becomes a little lighter.

After I had the card front done then I stamped the Just for You sentiment from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps - SS-Sent001 Wedding Wishes set on to some white cardstock and then die cut using the Spellbinders Labels Thirty-Six die.  I also used a piece of black cardstock and die cut a second label shape for layering.  I used Therm-O-Web Foam Squares in between the layers for some extra dimension.  Then I layered a black mat to the card front.  I added some Black Seam Binding around the middle of the card and added a bow.  To finish off the card I added a few flowers from the Prima Laraine Black Tie Flowers collection and some Melissa Frances Black/Silver Pearls.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed the card share.   Have a wonderful weekend!

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.

The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store - May God Bless You Richly Watercolor Card

Hello Blogging friends!  Today, is my day to post for The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.   I have a beautiful watercolor card to share with you using some of the Altenew stamps and inks along with the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

Sharon Johnson, owner of The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is now carrying some of the Altenew products.  If you aren't familiar with them you should hop on over to the store and check them out.  The floral images are so gorgeous and they work perfectly with all of the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps sentiments.

Here is the card I designed using the Altenew - Clear Stamps - Botanical Garden and Stamp Simply Clear Stamps SS-Sent003 Birthday Blessings.  For the background piece I stamped the images with VersaMark Ink and then heat set with Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  I used some of the Altenew - Ink Cubes Four Scoops - Cotton Candy, Mango Smoothie, Peach Perfect along with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Mowed Lawn to watercolor the background.  Once the watercolor piece was dry them I took some of the DecoArt Metallic Lustre - Gold Rush and watered it down a bit and then added the little gold splatters.

Next I stamp one of the sentiments from the Stamp Simply Clear Stamps SS-Sent003 Birthday Blessings on to some Vellum and heat set with Ranger Super Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  I wrapped the vellum around the card and adhered it to the back.

Here is another close up.  To finish off the card I added some Darice 5mm Crystal Sequins for a bit of sparkle.  Then I added Therm-O-Web Foam Squares for a bit of dimension and then added the front to a pick A2 top folding card base.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Please be sure to check out The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store for all of the fantastic paper crafting products and the Blog for inspiration from the Design Team.
