Springtime Blossoms & Bird Scrapbook Layout

Hello blogging friends! Today, I have a pretty Springtime scrapbook layout to share with you.

The photo is from last Spring but the weather has been so nice the past few weeks and I thought this would be a perfect picture for a layout. All of the solid colored cardstock is from Discount Cardstock and the background paper is from K & Company Susan Wingnet Nature paper pad.

I used Kraft paper, LF-249 Grand Big Scalloped Circles and EL-005 Splendid M-Bossabilities Folder from Spellbinders to create the embossed scalloped circle. Then I used the Adirondack Snow Cap Paint Dabber to go over the embossed flowers on the paper. I love the results with the paint dabber!

To create the tab I used one of the die templates from S5-094 Labels and Tags by Becky Fleck. For the flowers and leaves I used S5-089 Home Sweet Home (flowers) and S4-328 Foliage (leaves). I also added an acrylic green flower and added pearls to the centers of the flowers. The black swirl bling is from Recollections. The bling comes in three long strips in the package and I just snipped a few pieces to use.

To create the bird, branch, flowers and leaves I used S5-085 Mix'd Media Elements (branch & bird), S5-089 Home Sweet Home (flowers) and S4-328 Foliage (leaves). I used Antique Linen, Old Paper, Pumice Stone Distress Inks to add some color to the little bird.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you are having a Wonderful Weekend!!

Hugs & Smiles,
Heidi

Keep Calm & Create Art Card

Hello blogging friends! I just can't believe we are already at the end of March! This time last year we were on our family vacation in Florida--it seems like it's been forever since we were there and I can't wait until we can go back--LOL! The card I have to share with you today is from one of the classes I did last weekend at VIP Scrapbook in Rochester, MN.

I used CR-02255 Just Keep Calm stamp set from JustRite Stampers to stamp the frame and the sentiment. I just love this stamp set! There are so many fun little words and you can design a card for almost any occasion. I used Rich Cocoa ink for the sentiment and Bundled Sage for the frame. After I had the stamping done I used the Grand Calibur and S4-353 Labels Twenty-Four die templates to cut/emboss the label shape. I added Antique Linen to the paper doily and lightly inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

Here is a close up of the sentiment and frame. I also used Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and the Stick "EM" Up Tool to apply the tiny Ivory Pearls (coming soon) to the label. I have to tell you everyone in the classes LOVED the Stick "EM" Up Tool and said it was a Must Have Tool!! It makes picking up and applying embellishments like pearls and rhinestones so easy to do!

In the class I showed how to create these little roses using a large stylus (6mm or 12mm) and a quilling tool. My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody Happy Beach Stripe paper (polk-a-dot side) was used to create the flowers along with S5-086 Bitty Blossoms and S4-328 Foliage die templates from Spellbinders. Once the flowers were shaped and glued in place then Scrap Happy Sheer Glue was brushed on the flowers/leaves and Diamond Clear Glitter was added.

Green cardstock was used for the base of the card and the pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody Beautiful Roses. The Distrezz-it-All tool was used on the edges of the paper.

I wanted to let you know JustRite is having a HUGE JustRite Original Warehouse Sale!!

For my card I used some of the new Pop-Tones Pink Lemonade paper from Discount Cardstock. I love this soft pink color! The Pop-Tone line inspires sweet, fizzy, tangy fun. Spark your creativity with these new candy colors. I used EL-005 Splendid M-Bossabilities™ Folders from Spellbinders™ to emboss the pretty floral pattern on the bottom half of the card. Then I stamped a sentiment in the upper corner using one of the stamps from the CR-03640 Spring Words from JustRite. Bon Appetit Ensemble - March Guest Designer for The Rubber Cafe

Hello! I am so happy to be doing my first blog post as the Guest Designer over at The Rubber Cafe Blog!!

Link
I created an ensemble with a wine theme to share with you using some of my favorite products from The Rubber Cafe including stamps, glue and glitter.

I started with altering the coasters. I found these coaster at our local dollar store and they had a really pretty Fleur de Lis print on them. I thought the print was light enough that I would be able to stamp on them. I used one of the stamps from S-101 Bon Appetit using Timber Brown StazOn ink. Then I colored the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. To finish of the coasters I edged them with the Timber Brown ink.

Here is a close up of one of the coasters.

I altered four coasters for a nice little set.

Next I designed a decorative tag for the wine bottle.

I started with the tag and added a layer of old torn book pages with Mod Podge and then a layer of Gesso on top. Once the tag was dry I stamped images from the S-114 Vintage Treasures stamp set using Vintage Photo Distress ink. Then I layered Old Paper, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress inks on the tag and distressed the edges.

I stamped and colored the label from S-101 Bon Appetit with the same Prismacolor Colored Pencils and hand cut the label shape. Then I die cut another label shape using S4-301 Labels Sixteen from Spellbinders using black cardstock and then layered the two labels. I left some blank space on the label so I would be able to write a little message for gift giving. I also added Hanukkah Blue You're So Fine Glitter to the label. The ribbon is Hydrangea hand-dyed silk from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

On the bottom half of the tag I added a border using S5-078 Persian Accents die templates from Spellbinders. I edged the tag with glitter and added clear rhinestones (coming soon) and then I colored them using Copic marker V15 Mallow. I used Scrap Happy Sheer Glue to adhere the rhinestones and the Stick "EM" Up tool for perfect placement. I LOVE this little tool!! It's a must have!! I also added some leaves to the tag made from the S4-328 Foliage die templates.

For my last project I altered a mini canvas.

I used stamps from both of the same stamp sets mentioned above and randomly stamped them on the ivory cardstock to create the background and I inked the edges with the same Ranger Distress inks as the tag. The sentiment was printed on the computer and then I cut out the words and inked the little word block strips. The image of the wine bottle was colored exactly the same as the image on the coasters. I added 3D Foam Squares to the word blocks and the label for some dimension.

On the bottom of the canvas I added a border and leaves with a cork from a wine bottle. I used the same die templates as mentioned on the tag.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!

I hope you have a Wonderful and Creative Day!!

Hugs & Smiles,

The Rubber Cafe~

JustRite Background Stamp - Chevron Stripe - Happy Birthday Card

Good morning blogging friends! Today, I have another card to share with you using on of the fantastic New Background Stamps from JustRite Stampers.

Here is the card that I designed using CL-03610 Chevron Stripe Background Stamp and CL-03640 Spring Words from JustRite Stampers.

I started with a piece of Simply Smooth White cardstock and then stamped the CL-03610 Chevron Stripe Background Stamp with Versa Magic Aloe Vera ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The sentiment is from CL-03640 Spring Words. I used Tuxedo Black ink and stamped on to Simply Smooth White and then used S4-190 Labels Four to cut/emboss the label shape. I made a second label using the next size up for the die template and Pop-Tone Berrylicious cardstock and layered the two pieces together. To create the rose and leaves I used S5-086 Bitty Blossoms and S4-328 Foliage die templates and Pink Iris and Green Iris Shimmer Sheetz from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Here is a close up of the butterfly. I used LF-006 Wonderful Wings and White Iris and Blue Iris Shimmer Sheetz to create the layered butterfly. I also added a few Clear Rhinestones (coming soon) from The Rubber Cafe for the body of the butterfly.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop - March Ribbon Club

Good morning blogging friends! Today, is the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop for the month of February. The RRR Design Team Members and Special Event Design Team Members will be showcasing the Monthly Ribbon Club.

Link

This month there is a beautiful assortment of Light Green & Coral ribbons included in the March Ribbon Club Click HERE for more details.

If you are following the order of the blog hop you should have just come from Bonnie's Blog. If not and you just happened to pop in for a visit please click HERE to start the blog hop at the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings! Blog.

For my project I altered a little keepsake box using several of the ribbons from the March Ribbon Club Assortment. I used the sparkly coral ribbon around the outer edges of the box and then I made a decorative bow using the same ribbon. I layered a couple piece of pattern paper from the Follow Your Heart Be Happy Collection from My Mind's Eye. I ♥ this paper collection!! I also used one of the Be Happy Transparency Frames on top of the pattern papers.

Link
I used one of the Be Happy Chipboard Elements for a banner at the top and then I added ribbon tails on each end and embellished with a few tiny Ivory Pearls. I also used some pieces of the green ribbon with a heavy string to create little pennants for another banner and then I added a pearl to the center of each pennant.

Here is another view so you can see the bow at the top.

To create the bow I cut a total of five pieces with three different lengths.

Next I glued the ends to create little loops and then I layered the ribbon loops to create the bow.

To create the dress and dress form I used S5-088 Sewing Elements to cut/emboss the die cut and then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Next I layered and glued three piece of ribbon on top of the dress form to create a dress. To finish off the dress I added a piece of Noelle Crochet Lace Trim.

Here is a close up of the dress form and dress. I also added a little pearl necklace.

I added a couple of clusters of flowers to two of the corners. The coral colored roses were made using S5-086 Bitty Blossoms die templates and the Distrezz-it-All and then I added Diamond Clear Glitter. All of the other flowers and leaves are from I am Roses.

Here is a close up of the bird house charm. I used S5-033 Bird Sanctuary die template, shrink plastic, Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and Bronze Medal Glitter to create the sparkling charm. Then I added some pearls and jewelry findings.

This is how the box opens up.

I had so much fun creating this little keepsake box and finding some different and creative ways to use the ribbons.

Now to continue in the blog hop you need to hop on over to Misty's Blog and check out her fantastic project!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the Really Reasonable Blog Hop!! Don't forget to visit the RRR Store and check out all of the beautiful ribbons, lace and trims!
