Spellbinders Layout - Sea World

Hello! Today, I have a layout to share with you using some of the photos from our last family vacation in Florida. These are a few of the pictures from our day at Sea World. I know I will have to do a few more layouts with pictures from Sea World because it was such an amazing day and we have so many pictures!! Instead of doing a traditional title I used the pictures for the title. For the background paper I used a piece of blue Core'dination paper. Using the Grand Calibur and S7-004 Illumination Borders Grand along with white cardstock I edged the blue paper creating a border. Then I rubbed Liquid Pearls over the entire piece of cardstock. Here is a close up so you can see the shimmer from the Liquid Pearls.Using the S4-272 Surf's Up die templates I made a few cute little embellishments for the layout. I used reverse stencil on all of the die cuts and then I airbrushed with Copic markers. I also added a few black pearls from Want2Scrap along the outer edges.

Nestabling™, Swirls and Pearls - Sweet Little Birds

Good morning and welcome to the Want2Scrap™ blog! Today, I have a pretty Spring card filled with Nestabling™, Swirls and Pearls to share with you. Here is the card that I designed using Nestabling™ Lacey Ovals Moss Pearl, (love this color of green! *wink*) 72 Count - White Pearls - Self Adhesive , Swirls, Finesse - Brown Rhinestone - 2 Pack - Self Adhesive and Baby - White - Pearls -100 Count. To start I cut/embossed a piece of Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock from Discount Cardstock using the Grand Calbiur™ and S4-314 Lacey Ovals #5 die template from Spellbinders™. Then I added the Nestabling™ Lacey Ovals Moss Pearl from Want2Scrap™. Look how beautifully and perfectly the Nestabling™ fits on the lacey edges of the die cut. Next I cut/embossed the image of the birds using the Grand Calibur™ and S4-110 Classic Ovals Large #4 die template from Spellbinders™. The image of the birds is from Crafty Secrets Birds & Botanicals Images & Journal Notes. Here is a close up of the image and Nestabling™.
Next I wanted to add a Swirls, Finesse - Brown Rhinestone - 2 Pack - Self Adhesive but I knew it was going to be a little big for the space I had left on my card so I cut the swirl into two pieces. By cutting the swirl it does tow things--allows me to use it in the space I have and I can create a different look for the swirls depending on the placement. Here is a picture with the placement of the swirl. I also added 72 Count - White Pearls - Self Adhesive and Baby - White - Pearls -100 Count to the tip of each swirl. I love this look! It give the appearance the swirl and pearls are all one piece. I added a flower for and embellishment at the bottom. To create the flower I cut Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock, using the Grand Calibur™ and S5-050 Rose Creations die templates. Then I inked the edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and added a 72 Count - White Pearls - Self Adhesive to the center and then added Flower Soft around the pearl. For the leaves I used S4-328 Foliage and Herbal Garden Medium Prismatic cardstock. I inked the leaves with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. For the sentiment I used word blocks from Crafty Secrets Altered Fairies Creative Scraps. All of the cardstock used is from Discount Cardstock. For a finishing touch I added Diamond Stickles to the image, flower and leaves.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Guest Desinger - Ribbon Rose Tutorial

Hello and Good morning! I am so excited to be the GDT for Really Reasonable Ribbon!! Today, I have a wall hanging, two cards and a ribbon rose tutorial to share with you. Here is the wall hanging I designed with the ribbon roses. Before I get started with the tutorial I want to show you the yummy colors of ribbon I was able to work with on my projects. This is the New Dark Satin w/ Grosgrain Edge Assortment. So beautiful--I love these colors!!To get started I cut a 12 inch piece of ribbon. Then I made cuts about 1 inch apart going right up to the edge on the entire piece of ribbon. Next I trimmed the corners. After I trimmed the corners then I carefully heat set the ribbon. I Placed a piece of foil on a cookie sheet and used a stylus to hold down the ribbon. I let the heat tool get really hot and then I heated the ribbon. The edges of the ribbon will start to curl as it heats up. Heat one petal at a time. **Please note the ribbon can heat up really fast and you want to be careful not to scorch it. The next step is to assemble the rose. On the first petal I applied glue in a sideways L shape. Then I start to roll the ribbon. I kept adding glue and rolling the ribbon one petal at a time. As you can see from the photo the rose is starting to take shape. Here is the end result beautiful dimensional ribbon roses. These little roses will make the perfect embellishments for all your paper crafting projects. Here is one more close up of the wall hanging.

Next I have two cards to share with you. For this first card I used three colors of the ribbon from the New Dark Satin w/ Grosgrain Edge Assortment package.Using the ribbon I was able to create a quick and easy background. For the second card I used two colors of ribbon from the New Dark Satin w/ Grosgrain Edge Assortment package. I used the lavender ribbon to create a border and the green ribbon to make leaves for my tissue paper flower.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I am so thrilled to share my projects with you and I hope you enjoyed the ribbon rose tutorial. A Huge Thank You to Bonnie and True at Really Reasonable Ribbon for asking me to be the GDT!!! Please be sure to check out the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings Blog and the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store for fantastic projects ideas and beautiful ribbon!!

I hope you have a wonderful and creative day!!

Crafty Secrets DT Challenge (Masculine Theme)

Good morning! Today is the Crafty Secrets DT Challenge and for this month our challenge was to create something with a masculine theme. I have a link list at the bottom of this post for all of the DT Members so please be sure to visit each of their blogs to see what they have been busy creating. I know I can't wait to see what they have been up to!!I designed a card with a masculine theme using the Car Classics and Photo Studio stamp sets from Crafty Secrets. All of the car related stamps are from the Car Classics stamp set and I used the film strip from the Photo Studio stamp set. I love the red, white and black color combination and I think it looks very striking. Here is a close up of the car from the Car Classics stamp set. I used Copic markers to add the color. I used these four shades for red R17, R27, R29, R39 for the card and C0, T5 to color in the gray areas. The banner is also from the Car Classics stamp set. I stamped the image using Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic markers and hand cut. Then I place a piece of black ribbon behind the banner and used 3D Foam Squares to add a little dimension to the banner. For a finishing touch I added a few pieces for Baby Silver Rhinestones 100 Count from Want2Scrap™ on the crown. To create the border along the bottom I used the film strip stamp from Photo Studio and the small car images from Car Classic fit perfectly in the spaces. I used Copic markers to add a little color and distressed the edges. I added black ribbon behind the border to finish it off. I added another piece of the black ribbon to the top and a few pieces for Baby Silver Rhinestones 100 Count from Want2Scrap™. All of the cardstock is from Discount Cardstock. I think this would make a perfect card for Father's Day (which is right around the corner!), a birthday or just a thinking of you card.
