Rolled Roses Tutorial Using Spellbinders NEW S4-312 Blossom Three Die Template

Hello! I hope you had a great weekend and a wonderful Valentine's Day! Today, I have a fun little project to share with you creating rolled roses. Flowers embellishments are so fun to add to projects and I love to create them whenever I can. This is a felt rolled rose I created using S4-312 Blossom Three #3 die template from Spellbinders. To see the post click HERE.I am going to show you how with just one pass through the Grand Calibur you can create not one but two beautiful rolled roses. To create the rolled roses I used S4-312 Blossom Three #4, deep red felt, my favorite liquid adhesive Zip Dry, Xmas Red Stickles and a piece of white cardstock (not shown).I used the Grand Calibur from Spellbinders along with S4-312 Blossom Three #4 to cut the felt. I didn't use a wool or special felt, just some felt I picked up at Joann Fabrics. To create the sandwich for cutting layer the A Base Plate, die template with the ridges (cut side) up, felt and a piece of white cardstock. The Grand Calibur is Fabulous to use for cutting felt!! Now you will have two flower diecuts--one felt and one paper.Hand cut both flower diecuts in a spiral until the center is about the size of a nickle. For the paper flower ink the bottom edges of the spiral.Start at the outside edge and begin to roll the rose. Continue to roll the rose until you reach the center. Then add liquid adhesive to the bottom of the rose and hold in place for a few seconds until the glue starts to dry a little. To create the felt rolled rose I used Zip Dry liquid adhesive all the way around the edges as I rolled the felt. Once the felt is all rolled up glue to the center/bottom. Within just a couple of minutes I was able to create to fun flower embellishments for my projects. To add a little detail and sparkle I added red stickles to the red rose and diamond stickles to the paper rose. I also shaped the paper flower and curled some of the petals.
