Crafty Secrets DT New Product Challenge

Good morning and welcome to another Crafty Secrets DT Challenge!! Our DT Coordinator, Vicki Chrisman gave us a challenge to create something using one or more of the New Product Releases from Crafty Secrets. I will have a link list to all of the Crafty Secrets Designers at the bottom of this post, so please be sure to visit each of them. Here is the card that I created for the challenge. The sewing theme is so popular right now! Crafty Secrets has two New Product Releases that work perfectly for this--the Material Girl Stamp Set and Sew Nice Creative Scraps. I used both of these New Product Release on my card. Here is a picture of the piece I used from the Sew Nice Creative Scraps before I started to work with it. The Sew Nice Creative Scraps is printed on both sides and you have so many beautiful images to choose from! To start on the image I inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink and then I created the embellishments for the card. The image of the little thread card is from the Material Girl Stamp set and I stamped it with Rich Cocoa ink onto ivory cardstock. Then I cut out the image and inked the edged with Vintage Photo ink. I added the thread to the card, it actually started out as ivory thread and then I added some R81 Rose Pink Copic Refill to a q-tip and applied the color to the thread. I ran the thread through one of the buttons and then I used Crafty Power Tape-81' and 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™ to adhere the thread card and buttons.Next I stamped the image of the dress form, this image is also in the Material Girl Stamp Set. I cut the image out and inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink and the I added some lace and trim from Webster's Pages. To give the dress form even more dimension on the card I added 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™.On the top of the Sew Nice Creative Scraps image I stamped the sentiment Material Girl with flourishes using Gold Pigment ink and then I heat set it with gold embossing powder and a heat tool. The scissors diecut is from the Sentimentals Cricut cartridge. The scissors was cut from ivory cardstock, inked with Vintage Photo ink and then I added Crushed Shell Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels. Here is another picture where you can see the Glimmer Mist on the scissors and then you can also see some sparkle on the lace top of the lady on the right. I used a Clear Star Gelly Roll Glitter Pen from Sakura to add the sparkle. On the right side I added some lace from Webster's Pages and some buttons and a beaded ribbon flower that is from the Vintage Bling from Crafty Secrets.Supplies~

Heartfelt Creations - Celebrate Freedom Card

Good morning! I am enjoying the peacefulness of the early morning. I am the only one up in the house, there is a nice cool breeze coming in through the window and I am sipping on some coffee listening to the birds. It's wonderful!! By the way just in case you are wondering this is a scheduled post and by the time you read this it will be in the afternoon. The card I have to share with you today is in honor of Memorial Day.Celebrate Freedom!! Yes, we should celebrate and remember and be very thankful for those who have fought the great fight and gone before us and all of those continue to server our country. To start creating the card I stamped the Hero Background 1397G image from Heartfelt Creations several times onto a piece of white cardstock with Rich Cocoa ink and then I distressed the edges and inked the entire piece of cardstock with Antique Linen ink. Then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo ink.Next I used a dry scruffy brush and inked it up with the red, blue and vintage photo and dry brushed the color on (one color at a time). To change the color of the ribbon and give it more of an aged look I colored the ribbon with E31 Copic marker.I applied the background piece to a red mat and then I attached the ribbon using a E-Z Runner® (33') from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™.Next I made a star diecut using Stars Five S4-092 die template from Spellbinders™. I used the Reverse Stencil Technique (ink the inside of the die template) with blue ink and then I cut/embossed the shape. Before removing the paper I stamped the sentiment Celebrate Freedom using the Freedom Stars 1392C image from Heartfelt Creations with Rich Cocoa ink. Then I removed the paper, inked the edges with blue and then inked over the entire piece with Vintage Photo ink. I used a red Copic marker (R29) to color in the stars and then I added some sparkle using a clear Star Gelly Roll Glitter Pen from Sakura. I also used the Clear Star Glitter Pen on the stars on the ribbon. Here is a close-up of the star and ribbon.
I added three copper star brads in the upper corner.

Spellbinders - Keepin' it Cool Layout

Hello! OMGosh it's a HOT one in MN today!! It would be a great day to be at the pool. With all the summer sun I thought I would share a layout with you today that I created with a perfect summer theme. The pictures in the layout are of my little guy from one of our family vacations to Jellystone. The kids LOVE it there!! To create the waves I used the Jumbo Scalloped Petite S4-241 die template from Spellbinders™ and taped it in place with removable tape onto Marine Blue cardstock from Core'dintations and then I ran it through the Wizard™ to cut/emboss.After the first pass I removed the die template and placed it above the embossed area from the first pass. I lined up the circle cut outs with the points of the die template as shown in the picture (X) and then I ran the pieces through the Wizard™ again to cut/emboss.After following the two steps above this is the result. The diecut looks like a wave shape. I also lightly sanded the diecut to make the embossed area pop.Next I create a cute little turtle diecut using From the Sea S4-273 die template from Spellbinders™. To create the turtle I did the Reverse Stencil Technique (ink the inside of the die template) and then I used the die template as a stencil and inked through it.To make the colors pop even more on the turtle I used Non-Smear Pastels from The Stencil Collection. Here is a close-up of the turtle. I also used Golden Star and Red Star Glitter Pens from Sakura and a black marker to add some details. For the title and the date I used a computer font and then I used the Labels Six S4-230 die templates with white cardstock to create clouds. I also used a Clear Star Gelly Roll Glitter Pen from Sakura to add a little sparkle. For the smaller picture I used the Labels Twelve S4-247 die template to cut/emboss the picture and the black mat. Here is another close-up of the turtle and the waves. Also to add dimension to the layout I used 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™.

Supplies~
Paper~The Paper Company-White, Black, Blue, Green; Core'dinations-Marine Blue
Ink~Tsukineko-Memento Lady Bug (red); Martha Stewart-Leaf Bud; SU-Yo-Yo Yellow, Green Galore

Heartfelt Creations - By the Sea Happy Father's Day Card

Hello! Today I have a card sample using stamps from Heartfelt Creations. Using three stamps from Heartfelt Creations I created a By the Sea card for Father's Day.I started by stamping the Seashell Frame 697H and then I stamped the Seagull Sentinel 540D inside the frame. Both stamps are from Heartfelt Creations and I used Rich Cocoa ink and Solar White cardstock. Then I started coloring with my Copic markers. I colored the greenery first.Next I colored some of the shells, the seahorse and sand.I colored a couple of the shells and coral with blues. Here I colored some of the shells in the pink and green tones. For the last little bit of coloring I colored the water and the sky. After all of the coloring was done I made a diecut using the Wizard™ and Labels Eight S5-019 die template from Spellbinders™. Then I inked the edges with Vintage Photo and Broken China ink and I used a Clear Star Gelly Roll Glitter Pen from Sakura to add a little sparkle to the water bubbles. Here is a close-up to see some of the sparkle. I used the Scor-Pal to emboss the lines into Core'dinations cardstock and then I used a sanding block to make the lines pop. Once all of the pieces were cut and colored I assembled the card. I used 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™ to add a little dimension to the diecut pieces. I stamped the Happy Father's Day sentiment using the Happy Father's Day Script 1163D stamp onto white cardstock and cut/embossed using Standard Tag S3-028 die template and then I inked the edges, punched a hole on the end and added some twill. Here is a close-up of the seahorse. I did the Reverse Stencil Technique (ink the inside of your die template) and then cut/embossed the seahorse using the Wizard™ and From The Sea S4-273 die templates. Then I used Non-Smear Pastels from The Stencil Collection to add some color. Here is another close-up of the stamped images and diecuts. I also added Magic Mesh to the bottom half of the card and some twill.Supplies~

To make the tag I used Red Premium Craft Foil F-01 and then I lightly sanded the edges. I also added a black ribbon and some 3D Foam Squares from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES By 3L™ to the backside of the tag to add some dimension. Here is a close-up of the tag. I stamped an oval from the Price Tags stamp set from Crafty Secrets and the sentiment is from the Feeling Yucky stamp set from Crafty Secrets. The oval was stamped in black and the sentiment in red and then I cut out the oval and added 3D Foam Squares to the backside. You can also see from the picture that I stamped a border of cars at the bottom of the card. For the image of the map I stamped it with black ink onto white cardstock, colored with Copic markers, distress and inked the edges.I used the Large Labels S4-168 die template to make a diecut to use for a mat behind the picture of the car.
